This is a couple weeks old, but we got a CB for the #1 ranked player in the Class of 2021 from a 247 National writer.

Caden Clark

Does anyone know anything about Caden ?

I'm trying to figure out what Bama is going to do with a 6'3" 260# TE ? Play H I guess ?

This is another odd pledge to take early IMO. Watched his film, and didn't see anything particularly special, but he does look ideal for Hback.

I really dont mind the early commits after last year. We probably want to make sure we fill up all the spots.

There's just not much info so far about Caden Clark. I think BOL's height/weight may not be correct. All other sources list him at 6'4' with various weights. His hudl profile says 6'4"/241.

He's a beast. After his camp performance and monster senior year so far, he should be among the top 100 (at the very least... maybe top 50) overall players in the country. I expect him to get a big rating bump. Especially if he plays in an All-Star game after the season.

Quote from Kayvon Thibodeaux's mother when asked if they are planning on coming to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl:

quote:

“I can’t really say if we’ll try and get back there,” Loice said. “Honestly, I have to work. I don’t want to just be rude, but at the end of the day I want him to figure it out and make a decision and when it’s time to go, it’s time for school. I don’t want to just keep taking trips. I want to finish the official visits and kind of be done with it. It’s a lot. It’s definitely a lot.”

I like her style.

One of the 247 analysts watched Antonio Alfano in person last week. Here's his eval:

quote:

Thick but lean athlete with very little body fat. Carries 275 pounds like it's 230. Potential to be a very athletic-framed 300-pounder on the next level. Plays with good leverage with an explosive first step. Has violent hands and aggressive mentality. Has the temperament you want on the defensive line. Highly competitive. Physical tackler through the ball carrier. Possesses elite edge athleticism and freakish combine testing numbers. Also has versatility and strength to play inside. Sheds blocks and attacks double teams effectively. Pursuit speed is rare but effort needs to be more consistent on plays away from him. Upper tier Power 5 multi-year starter with first- or second-round potential.

It sounds like they know he's a beast, but the guy who watched him said they still aren't going to bump him yet.

I am reposting this comment since I made it late at night and it was likely to have been overlooked and now the thread has a title about it.

Well there is a Chattabama organization and they haven't posted anything alluding to any member having a problem so hopefully he's just been taken a break/moved from the rant.
