Faatui Tuitele -- 9 new CBs to Washington since yesterday, including Blair Angulo (247 mod who broke and knew the details on Kaho to Bama), Wiltfong and Shannon Terry.

Hank: "Not a big shock considering he wanted to make a decision around the end of the summer / beginning of the season."

So, it appears he might announce a commitment to UW very soon. I had wondered lately if Bama might get and take his commitment soon.

Miami? Southern? Only geographically. I don't really consider any part of Florida (except maybe the panhandle) "the South", unless you're only talking about location on a map. It's its own separate entity.
culturally, Miami is a melting pot. As it relates to college football, Miami's philosophy on getting inner city black kids sparked what we see today.

How low is he on our board? I'm sure Sopsher is first, but he has to be behind Ika if we're putting him off til later

I didn't think that was the exact order Saban has his board in

I don't get why you're asking me where Tuitele is on Bama's board. It doesn't seem like much is leaked about their board. I see stuff from BOL mods and insiders like if offers are committable, but no details about hierarchy on their board.

The Top Targets list contains the recruits that Bama appears to be currently targeting and also appears to have a pretty good chance of landing.

But Saban and his staff can be pretty sneaky sometimes. For example, I don't think Bowles, Cheney, Eboigbe, Shane Lee and Dalcourt were on our Top Targets list when they committed. Hank had said Dalcourt had the green light. I should've added him before he committed.

I got the feeling from other posters that we started to look elsewhere after Tuitele visited. I don't think the staff was all that impressed with him.

Yeah. That was the word -- that Tuitele did not impress when he camped at Bama. Posts I saw that seemed reliable sounded like he may need significant S&C and technique development.

It appears Bama wants Sopsher and maybe to upgrade from Cheney. Bama really likes Leal and Pickering, but the chances of flipping them don't look good. It appears they like Ty Robinson a lot too, but some think he's likely to go to Nebraska.

With space so tight, Idk if Bama will take a heavy NT type like Ika in addition to Dale and Sopsher (Jason Jones is committed for 2020 too), but they might. I haven't seen indications of whether they like Ika more than Sorrells or vice versa.

I recently posted an article that's a pretty extensive update on his recruitment and then followed the article with some thoughts:
quote:

I wouldn't be so quick to assume he'll pick FSU. To me it sounds like his thinking regarding a 4-3 DE vs 3-4 DE/OLB hybrid is an echo of the Noles' recruiting pitch. He's feeling and talking up FSU right now due to his recent visit. I sense that Taggart promised him he'll start right away too.

Tosh and Saban can easily counter FSU's pitch. Thibs will thrive playing Jack at Bama and will also win at least one National Title at Bama. He'll be a higher NFL draft pick if he plays that hybrid position at Bama in college vs the 4-3 DE at FSU. Bama would set him up to be able to play in any NFL D-front, raising his stock. We play the nickel most the time anyway, where the Jack is mainly a DE -- edge setter vs the run and edge rusher vs the pass -- his forté.

He'll probably OV at UF in October for their game vs LSU. It wouldn't surprise me if VT beats FSU on his OV there. I like his OVs timeline, with his Bama OV a few weeks after the FSU OV instead of the late Nov Iron Bowl. And I like that he's announcing in early November instead of closer to early signing day.

I like our chances with Thibodeaux.

I hope Thibs is a cross between Von Miller and Charles Baldwin and chooses to come to Bama . Social Justice doesn't apply to Quarterbacks.

Nothing new. Pretty much all the MODS have been putting their CB for FSU.

I'd take Bogle over Thibodeaux. I'm biased towards south Florida kids over California kids. South Florida has been very good to us.

Q: "Anyone have a feel for where Bogle sits on Bama's board? Is he right behind Thibo on the board or is Bogle a definite take?"

Hank: "Highly thought of. Would probably give the edge to Thib in terms of priorities, but Bama would be hard-pressed to turn him down if he wanted to commit IMO."
