First, appreciate your hard work on explaining how scholarships work. I see you actively doing the same on BOL, too, haha.

Anyway, for the sake of discussion, do you think there's anyway taking Dalcourt relates to Webb? I haven't seen that mentioned I don't believe. Though I know nobody wants to see Webb go elsewhere, so I understand why

Yeah, you're right. I guess I just find it hard to believe we'll take two more OL given all the other top targets still out there.

We discussed it yesterday (last few pages). I don't know if taking Dalcourt is an indicator of the staff feeling less confident about any of the top OL targets -- Webb, Neal or Wright. It seems to me that it would be hard to land both Neal and Wright, with Kight already on board. Reportedly, they like Dalcourt as a center. I guess the staff's thinking is that with Dalcourt on board, all we'll need is one of Neal or Wright to have a GREAT OL haul secured -- making Webb (or 2nd of Neal and Wright) more like icing on the cake.

Versatility/Depth
Neal or Wright - LT
Quick - G (T)
Dalcourt - C (G)
Webb- G (C)
Kight - RT (LT)
Bowles - G/T/C (Barrett Jones 2.O)

Blair Angulo about 4 hours ago: "Ale Kaho is on his flight en route to Alabama scheduled to arrive in Birmingham this afternoon."

ETA: Should've already landed, at about 4 pm CT.

Been working, have we gotten anymore 2018 commits? 2018 is the zombie class that keeps coming back because it wasn't the number one class.

When Jordan Davis graduates from Juco and enrolls at Bama that'll finally wrap up the 2018 "zombie" class.

Seems on the up and up . Honestly though Saban would do it. And knowing him, he probably will figure out a way to do something similar but better.

Since FSU will be practicing at IMG during the August dead period, the FSU coaches are not allowed to have any direct interactions with IMG players while there. Seems like a lot of trouble that'll gain FSU very little.

Didn't Michigan practice at IMG one time?

ETA: They did but it was in March 2016.

Michigan's final Florida practice at IMG Academy...-

As I have stated before FSU is on the outside of the ACC. It's Miami and Clemson, they may give us some trouble with some recruits though, thibo and nakobe seem high on the Seminoles

LINK ]Crimson and Blue Chips: August 10, 2018
(BamaOnLine)

quote:

Crimson and Blue Chips, the Alabama football and recruiting podcast, is now affiliated with BamaOnLine. CABC linked up with the premiere site covering Alabama athletics and recruiting as part of the 247Sports network in May. In addition to host John Garcia, Jr., BOL regulars Tim Watts, Kirk McNair, Hank South and others will continue to join the conversation on a more consistent basis to provide expert perspective on the Crimson Tide on and off the field, an audible roster unmatched elsewhere in the space. The show will remain a free listen on BOL, YouTube, SoundCloud, itunes, and via social media (#CABC on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) moving forward.

On today's program, we look at yet another new football commitment for the Crimson Tide's class of 2019. Four-star Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy offensive lineman Darrian Dalcourt announced his commitment to Alabama Thursday evening and we bring back 247Sports' Brian Dohn for more behind the move. The national recruiting analyst looks at the interior prospect's game, recruiting path and last two visits to Tuscaloosa ahead of his decision. The larger picture for Alabama seems to be considerable success in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) region, a constant under Nick Saban and we take a look at reasons why. Listener team and recruiting questions then take the podcast home for the week.

Simmons' Mailbag: Tide's finish, Scott Frost, Chad Morris and UGA

quote:

Who do you think bama ends up with as for as final recruits..

I am not sure we don’t see some turnover with a current commit or two as well. It looks like the Crimson Tide will sign over 25 this cycle, and there are some big targets still in there. I can’t start with anyone other than Clay Webb, the No. 1 prospect in the state. Alabama has been viewed as the favorite for some time, but Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee are schools he continues to look at. Top offensive tackle Darnell Wright is one to keep an eye on. Tennessee may be trending a bit here, but Alabama is in this, too.

Alabama is also trending for five-star running back Trey Sanders. Florida may be the biggest competition here right now. Nakobe Dean took his official visit to Alabama over the summer and he said Alabama is recruiting him as hard as anyone. Defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher and defensive back Daxton Hill are two five-stars that the Crimson Tide have high on their board. The feelings appear to be mutual. Hill is considered an Alabama lean, too.

All I know for certain is, Alabama is going to sign an elite class — again. Will they take that No. 1 spot back from Georgia this cycle? It wouldn’t surprise me to see the two SEC programs that played for the National Championship last season battling it out again come February.

Seems like we'll land Sanders, I really hope so too. We've been on an insane run of always having a 5 star/#1 RB on the roster.

Love Webb, and the OL class in general. Really hoping we don't slip up here and secure him.

Same here, securing one of these with Webb, Quick, and our other OL guys would be fantastic.

Sopsher is the best, but I kinda want Tuitele because Bama becoming a Hawaii pipeline is hilarious

I think we need Nakobe Dean more, but between him or Thibs I really hope we get Thibs. How are we looking with him?

After a pretty solid secondary class, mainly bringing in a few Corners, I definitely want a top Safety in this class and Hill is that guy

If Cheney and Sorrells both go eslewhere, we have 20 commits. So, 27 - 20 = 7 spots left:

1 Trey Sanders
2 Clay Webb
3 Evan Neal or Darnell Wright
4 Ish Sopsher, Ika or Tuitele
5 Dean, To'oto'o, Diabate or Devonta Lee
6 Thibodeaux, Bogle or Diabate
7 Daxton Hill

That doesn't even include another WR like Wandale Robinson or Jameson Williams.
