That's sort of the issue though, isn't it? I haven't oppressed anyone. In fact, as far back as I can trace my family on both sides, I come from poor, rural, small-time farmers in California and Kentucky who could barely keep their kids fed much less own slaves. Even if my great-great grandparents had been slave owners, I'm no more responsible for their sins than you are mine. I believe we'll all stand before the Almighty one day and give an account for our lives, not what someone else may or may not have done. I'm no more responsible for the sins of white slave owners 200 years ago than people living in Germany in 2018 are responsible for what Hitler did 80 years ago. That's a logical fallacy and frankly it's own brand of moral perversion in my opinion.

My entire point is that racism isn't just a white problem, and it's going to take more than white people to fix it. Some of the most racist people I've ever come across in my life were not white. It's going to take all of us moving in the right direction, all of us owning our own brand of racism and working toward unity and equality across all races and in all institutions.

For the record, I let this subject die several pages ago, but somehow keep getting brought back into it. Anyway, Carlton is good people. I'm not disagreeing with anything he said, just trying to broaden perspective on the issue as a whole. He's one of the best posters on this board hands down, and I'd buy him a beer any day of the week.

The funny part about all this is that all I wanted to do was to make sure you saw the data I posted. Anybody who posted in the Brandon Kennedy thread knows I'm big on that. I didn't think it would go any further than that, other than clarifying a thing or two.

I think somethings could be discussed further but it would be better done in person cause points accidentally get misinterpreted on message boards.
