So was Dean never an option to come this weekend? After reading some of the UGA message boards, I want him wearing crimson now more than ever.

Nakobe Dean is visiting FSU and maybe UF too. The recent chatter among reliable BOL insiders sounds like Bama (dynasty) leads over UGA and ATM (wannabes). UA is a lot closer to home too.

From VolNation rb Darnell Wright thread; VN is mixed regarding the guy's "insider" credibility:

Believe it if you want or don’t makes no difference to me.

I figured Wright might visit UT on his trip to Bama. I suppose he might visit UGA and Clemson too while traveling south. Wright has said he'd like to visit them, but he hasn't yet.

ETA: Hank said Wright and his mom will be visiting Bama for the entire weekend.

DW is not publically committed. Why would he have an undercover visit.

I was over at MGoBlog to see what they thought about Dax Hill. Needless to say they aren't over Najee Harris sticking with Alabama.

quote:

The problem with Najee Harris was that Saban got the last word. After all but actually flipping, Harris and Saban talked on that last weekend before he was supposed to just show up somewhere. I don't know if Harbaugh tried to call, but the Harris plane went to that backwater in Alabama (via 17 other podunk backwater airports, no doubt).

Makes me wonder how St Nick sweetened the honey pot...

They had some great melts when Dan Enos abandoned ship after his cup of coffee in Ann Arbor.

They are an insufferable lot. One of the worst, most mysteriously arrogant (haven't won much of anything in 70+ years) fanbases in sports. And the smarmy comments about "backwater, Podunk, etc.." are massively ironic coming from a state that has failed with bankruptcy, crime, and pretty much everything else in a spectacular way over the past couple decades. I generally pull for them against OSU since OSU is usually the bigger challenger to Bama on the field, in the polls, and on the recruiting trail, but am quite happy that they never really win anything of substance. I hope they continue to wallow in their futility.

Maybe NCAA quiet or dead period restrictions were in effect yesterday, or maybe some other rea$on.

Regarding G. Pickins this weekend, Tigerpaw says in the AU thread:

quote:

George Pickins arrived Thursday night and is staying through today. He will visit FSU tomorrow

I believe that is if per Keith Niebuhr.

Hank on 2020 QB Robby Ashford (ESPN #52 player) visiting Bama this weekend: "He'll be a fun one to watch this season. Similar to Paul Tyson last year in terms of this being the first year he'll start on varsity. Big kid, strong arm, athletic etc. He has all the tools you look for at the QB position, so we'll see if he can put it all together this year. It won't hurt having the supporting cast he has at Hoover either."
