LINK ]2020 tight end Caden Clark talks Bama offer and upcoming visit (247Sports)
quote:
AKRON, OH -- The 2020 tight end class in the state of Ohio is outstanding, with four players currently holding Power Five offers, including Caden Clark from Akron Hoban.
Clark, 6-foot-5, 245-pounds, is in the process of putting together an impressive offer list. He has the size, speed and athletic ability college coaches are looking for.
Alabama is the latest school to offer Clark, and he was understandably moved when he heard the news. He is currently ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports.
"I was working out with my dad when Alabama hit me up on Twitter and asked me to call them," Clark stated. "It was (special teams coordinator and tight ends coach) Jeff Banks, and he asked me if I was interested in Alabama. I told him I was super pumped up that they were following me on Twitter."
"When I called him, he told me I had an offer from Alabama," he added. "My dad was so happy that he started crying, and that was awesome for me. I was there a couple years ago when they were recruiting my brother (current Kentucky quarterback Danny Clark). Coach Banks said they checked out my film and that I had everything they're looking for, so they offered. I think I can fit in well with what they want from their tight ends."
"From what I remember of it, everything was great and I'm going to be back there again this Saturday," he continued. "They told me they are having a get together this Saturday with a bunch of 2020 recruits, and they wanted me to come and be a part of it. My grandparents are going with me as well, and I'm looking forward to them seeing everything."
With offers from the likes of Boston College, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State and West Virginia, where does Alabama rank on Clark's favorites list?
"I would say they are in my top group for sure, and Alabama would be near the top," Clark admitted. "I also like Clemson, Kentucky, West Virginia and Michigan a lot, and they are all great programs as well. Clemson has not offered yet, but we have been talking a lot and I'm going to visit Clemson again this year at some point."
"West Virginia is great and they told me they're not taking a tight end in the 2019 class, and they want me to be their guy in 2020," he noted. "They aren't pressuring me at all, but they want me to commit. I like Kentucky a lot too, especially with my brother being there."
"Michigan is another school I like a lot, and I really like Coach (Jim) Harbaugh," he said. "I have a teammate committed to Michigan in Nolan Rumler, and Coach Harbaugh asks Nolan about me all the time, so that's pretty cool."

I was looking through some bulldog boards and they are a confident bunch. Many of them think they will land Dean, Sanders, and Webb. I don't think they will but that would suck if they did.

Rivals Michigan update on Dax. Anyone know what it says? LINK

Our boy TigerPaw has a Rivals account I think. Maybe he'd be willing to summarize for us?
What say you, Paw?

That’s not confidence from the dawgs. That’s full blown delusion.

Maybe their overconfidence is due to the great 2018 class UGA landed. They'll probably have a great 2019 class too, but right now, it's not likely to include any of those three. And I doubt that changes in their favor between now and early signing day.

Not that it directly involves us, but Clemson has gotten 3 or 4 CBs for Vonta Bentley in the last 24 hours.

Which boards if I may ask? We feel we have a good shot at Dean, Webb is a an AU lean from what I've seen, and I think we are more focused on Emery than Sanders.

Per OU247's Brandon Drumm, 5* S Daxton Hill will not attend OUs weekend recruiting event.
He said a good deal more than that.
quote:
This Dax Hill recruitment has been something of a whirlwind for sometime now.
Late last night, and early this morning, I spoke to several sources and all of them noted that Dax to Oklahoma isn’t trending well anymore. One source I spoke with told me, “Dax is just his own person and even if he feels pressure to stay instate, or go to OSU, he doesn’t let that ruin his overall focus on his future.”
The teams that people were talking about were Bama and Michigan. The dark horse, according to most, was OSU due his longstanding relationship with the OSU staff and his brother playing there.
Now, I’m not writing OU off because sources in Norman say he is still talking to them, and the lines of communication remain open, but he has yet to say definitively that he will attend the ChampUBBQ.
With all of that I’m not too confident in OU and feel one of the other three are more likely, at this point.
I will continue to dig all week and see what I can find out so I can get definitive answer on Dax upcoming decision.

With Dax, though, you have to know his parents don't want to deal with backlash in Stillwater while Justice is still there. That is playing a massive role here.
Right.

2020 5-star CB Kelee Ringo on Alabama:
quote:
Ringo has gone national, in fact. The 6-foot-2, 192-pound defensive back was out at Alabama most recently for a multi-day unofficial visit and to compete in front of the Crimson Tide coaching staff in camp. His stay in Tuscaloosa and the Alabama offer left a huge impression.
"It was a huge experience and I absolutely loved it," Ringo told 247Sports at Saguaro's yearly out-of-state summer camp at Cal Lutheran University. "I really like coach Nick Saban and, at the camp, he was so energetic. I love the way he coaches. He acts like an assistant coach. The head coaches at a lot of other schools are laid back, but he was giving pointers and he was in there. I liked it a lot.
"Alabama is really high for me. I could see myself there."
The Crimson Tide are firmly in contention, but Ringo said he doesn't anticipate making an early college decision. He is targeting January of 2020 as his time frame when he competes at the All-American Bowl.

Photos, videos of Alabama's new dining hall, recruiting room
I'll post the photo and videos below.
quote:
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama’s new athletics dining facility and Robert Alan Hall Recruiting Room at the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility is officially open and was opened to reporters to tour Monday prior to a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Nick Saban, Greg Byrne and others.
“I think we all want to reinvest in the student-athletes that we have here and for them to get the first-class quality nutrition and have a facility that obviously will serve them well and also attract great recruits here in the future is something that’s very important to the continued success of all programs at the university, just not the football program,” Saban said. “But from a football program standpoint, I know our players certainly appreciate this kind of facility.”
The new dining facility is 25,000 square feet and features two serving areas, 10 action stations and a fuel center and smoothie bar. Five performance chefs and more than 20 assistants help run the facility, which is headed by director of performance nutrition Amy Bragg.
The second of two stories is dedicated to the Crimson Tide’s football team and features patio dining that overlooks the practice fields. There are 50-plus flat-screen televisions across the new space.
Alabama also showed off its new recruiting space. It houses all five of the Tide’s championship trophies during the Saban era, both of its Heisman Trophies, one of every award won by an Alabama player and every national championship ring. Helmets for all 32 NFL teams are also present, and they each have a screened visor that displays the name of each Alabama player drafted by the respective franchise. The Heismans and latest title trophy are also interactive.
“Coach Saban’s asked about recruits and what they expect when they visit Alabama,” Byrne said. “They talked about how they expect us to be the best. Our new athletic dining facility is another great reminder of that. I read one time that working out and eating poorly is like detailing your car and then going out and driving in the mud. We’ll provide the best experience here at the University of Alabama for our student-athletes academically, athletically and socially.”
Below are videos of the dining hall, recruiting room and ribbon-cutting ceremony, courtesy of Denon McMillan, as well as several photos of the latest additions to the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility.
I'll post the photo and videos below.
