Is Jahleel Billingsley Closing in on a Decision?
We want 2 tight ends in this class?
quote:
Alabama wants to add two tight ends to their 2019 recruiting class and they could very soon have one tight end commit.
Jahleel Billinsley took an official visit to Penn State on June 8-11 and took an official visit to Alabama on June 15-17, which was his last visit.
A relative of Billingsley took to Twitter to give a sneak peak of a commitment video Billingsley is working on.
Billingsley is a 4-Star tight end out of Illinois. He is ranked as the No.11 TE in the nation.
If Alabama could land him, they will get a unique talent at the tight end position. Billingsley has good size at 6-feet-4-inches and 216 pounds. He has impressive speed for a guy his size. He knows how to make plays in space and runs a 4.64 in the 40-yard-dash.
Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class is ranked as No.1 in the nation and Billingsley could strengthen this class and fill a priority position for the Tide.

TDAlabamaMag does a good job of getting interviews with recruits, but is off the mark fairly often in some of the conclusions they draw. For ecample, they declared Bama is on a mission to flip DJ James. The position needs priorities, number of spots left, and targets Bama is in on don't point to Bama taking 2 TEs, imo. Not unless Devonta Lee or Milton Wright is sort of viewed as potentially playing like a flex TE at times. Jmo.

No way we take 2 TE's IMO. Hentages is the only one we lose after this year and we return 5 plus whoever we sign this year. We don't need 7-8 TE's.

The Opening 2018: Alabama & Auburn commits head to recruiting showcase in Texas
quote:
Eight Alabama high school seniors are among the 150-plus prospects from around the country scheduled to compete at The Opening in suburban Dallas.
The event, presented by Nike Football, begins Saturday and concludes Tuesday at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the Dallas Cowboys' training facility in suburban Dallas. Most of the nation's top-ranked players, according to the 247sports Compositive Rankings, will be there.
Here's a look at the eight Alabama prospects selected to compete, as well as Alabama and Auburn commitments who will be there:

quote:
George Pickens
High school: Hoover
Position: Wide receiver
Ht./Wt.: 6-4, 200
College choice: Auburn
The skinny: Pickens committed to Auburn before last season and was the first 2019 player to commit to the Tigers.

quote:
Christian Williams
High school: Daphne
Position: Defensive back
Ht./Wt.: 6-1, 182
College choice: Alabama
The skinny: Although he moonlights as a wide receiver, Williams is a shutdown corner who opposing quarterbacks rarely challenge. That's why he had just one interception last season.

quote:
Jaydon Hill
High school: Bob Jones
Position: Defensive back
Ht./Wt.: 6-0, 175
College choice: Undecided
The skinny: Hill intercepted five passes last year, and Bob Jones coach Kevin Rose had high praise for him earlier this year: "He's as good a prospect as we've had here since Reggie Ragland," the coach said. Remember, Ragland was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and an All-American at Alabama in 2015.

quote:
Clay Webb
High school: Oxford
Position: Offensive line
Ht./Wt.: 6-3, 290
College choice: Undecided
The skinny: Webb won a state championship as a heavyweight wrestler earlier this year and was named the state's No. 1 high school athlete for the 2017-18 school year by AL.com. He plays tackle in high school, but is likely to switch to center in college. He's the state's top-rated prospect.

quote:
Pierce Quick
High school: Hewitt-Trussville
Position: Offensive line
Ht./Wt.: 6-5, 285
College choice: Alabama
The skinny: A physical player who racked up more than 100 knockdown blocks as a right tackle last season, Quick could move inside and play guard in college.
Looks like we aren't the only ones projecting Quick to play inside.

quote:
Taulia Tagovailoa
High school: Thompson
Position: Quarterback
Ht./Wt.: 5-11, 203

Kevin Harris
High school: Grayson High in Loganville, Georgia

Position: Linebacker
Ht./Wt.: 6-0, 253
