They have a 95.16 rating with three five stars. I don't think they will be unhappy with what they have when it's over.

They'll have an elite class, but that 95 average will come down a good bit based on their remaining realistic targets. It will be a top 3-5 class, but the #1 class will belong to Bama. And that will be sweet after all the gloating they did last year.

I'm from central Florida and regularly get shite for wearing flip flops in Alabama. I had no idea it was even controversial till I moved up here.

Meet the 14-year-old, 360-pound lineman who already has Alabama offer

quote:

Kiyaunta Goodwin stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 360 pounds, so perhaps it's no surprise he has an Alabama offer.

Except this one caveat: Goodman just finished the eighth grade. He's a rising high school freshman is in the Class of 2022 who hasn't yet played a varsity snap at a private school in Louisville, Kentucky.

"Once I get my hands on them, it's over," said Goodwin, a 14-year-old lineman, said in a radio interview today with Tide FM-102.9's Smashmouth Radio program. "They don't want these hands."

Goodwin already has multiple big-time offers, including Kentucky, Louisville, Florida State, Georgia and LSU, and he's also visited Ohio State and Michigan. His Twitter bio lists him a 6-foot-7 and 350 pounds, but the Louisville Courier-Journal in Louisville listed him at 370 pounds earlier this summer.

He said today he's currently 6-7 1/2 and 360 pounds.

Goodwin isn't the first 2022 player to receive an Alabama offer, following quarterback Kaden Martin, the son of Mobile native and Tennessee national championship quarterback Tee Martin.

In today's radio interview, Goodwin also said he already has a nickname: Syrup.

He explained that offensive lineman are credited with a "pancake block" by knocking an opponent to the ground. driving him to the turf and landing on top of him.

"Once they go down, I put the syrup on them," he said. "My nickname is syrup, because what's better to put on pancakes than syrup."

Goodwin also said doctors have told him he's not finished growing and could top out at over 7 feet tall. He was, of course, asked why he chose football over basketball.

"It gives me a chance to take out the anger that I can't take out on my brother or at school," he said, referring to football "It's just fun."

Alabama QB recruiting takes turn as Crimson Tide offers Calera's Cornelius Brown

quote:

Add another in-state quarterback to Alabama's suddenly volatile quarterback recruiting.

Calera senior Cornelius Brown, a 6-foot-5 180-pound senior who plays for former Alabama quarterback Andrew Zow, visited Alabama on Tuesday and received an offer from the Crimson Tide.

Brown projects as a quarterback in college -- he's not an athlete like current Tide running back and Calera product Ronnie Clark, who played quarterback in high school but was always projected to play another position -- so the Alabama offer appears curious at first glance. The Crimson Tide already has commitments from Hewitt-Trussville's Paul Tyson and Thompson's Taulia Tagovailoa in the Class of 2019.

But Tagovailoa visited Tennessee last weekend, and he's also received renewed interest from LSU, despite having committed to Alabama on A-Day earlier this year.

"If one of those guys does decide to de-commit, my offer becomes committable and I'm the next guy that they want," Brown said.

Alabama isn't Brown's first offer, and he also holds offers from UAB, Florida Atlantic, Rutgers, Jacksonville State, Alabama State and Bowling Green, among others. The Alabama offer clearly shows his recruiting star is on the rise.

"A lot of coaches really like my development," he said. "My jump from last summer to this summer has been drastic. My footwork, for a guy who's 6-5 with really long legs, is impressive. I can move fluidly and I get my feet back on the ground really quickly.

"The thing that most excites college coaches," he added, "or anybody in general who sees what I love to do, is the way I move, the energy, just my vibe. They call me a glue guy. My energy is contagious. I'm a natural leader. Guys like to play with me. I bring a lot to the table."

Brown visited Alabama with teammate Jayson Jones, the state's No. 1 prospect for the Class of 2020 who is expected to pick between Alabama and Georgia next month.

What does Jones see as Brown's greatest strengths?

"He's a really great person," Jones said. "He doesn't give you a reason to hate him in any type of way. He's a great guy to hang around. He's funny, and he just electrifies the room when he's in it.

"As a player, he's fundamentally sound, and he can show up and show out."

Brown completed 157-of-281 passes for 2,334 yards and 25 touchdowns for Calera last season and then threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns in the spring game against Chilton County. Zow serves as Calera's head coach.

Brown said he doesn't currently have a timetable for when he plans to make a commitment.

"My recruiting is just really taking off," he said Tuesday. "Last week, I got offered by Vanderbilt. Last month, I got offered by Rutgers and Florida Atlantic. Today, I got offered by Alabama. Doors are starting to open up more and more.

"I'm really not sure as of right now," he added. "I'm just going to give this situation to God and let God lead me, and me and my dad and me and my family will talk about it. I've got to do what's best for me. I'll make my decision when I think, 'This is it.'"

Alabama Offers Zion Logue

quote:

Alabama offered 2019 defensive end, Zion Logue, on Wednesday.

“It’s a lifetime dream,” Logue said.

Logue spent the day in Tuscaloosa. He got a chance to see all of Alabama’s facilities and got to talk to Nick Saban, who informed him of his offer.

“It was a very informational conversation,” Logue said. “He shared plenty of great knowledge.”

The Crimson Tide have built there team on the back of hard work by approaching every game and practice like a hard day at the office. Logue notice this from the few hours he spent in Tuscaloosa.

“Alabama is about business,” Logue added. “There is no playing around at all.”

Logue also feels that he is up to the challenge and feels every top recruit should be.

“Every athlete should,” Logue said. “If you couldn’t, something is really wrong with you.”

The Tennessee-native stands at 6-feet-5-inches and 287 pounds. He often demands double teams and keeps his hands moving at all times. His long wingspan gives him the ability to knock down passes at the line of scrimmage, which he does constantly.

Alabama has five defensive lineman commits and would like to add at least two more. Logue has a huge upside and has potential to do some damage at the next level. Touchdown Alabama Magazine will keep you updated on his recruitment.

Noa Pola-Gates Excited for Alabama’s Champion Cookout

quote:

Noa Pola-Gates is one of the many top recruits that will visit Tuscaloosa for the annual champion’s cookout this weekend.

“I’m so excited to get back there,” Gates said. “My pops is going to be with us this time, so it is a big deal.”

Gates has only visited Alabama once. He hopes to make the most out of this visit and get an in-depth understanding of Alabama football and it’s culture.

“I want to retrace my steps from before, but ask more questions,” Gates added. “I also want to talk with more recruits.”

Alabama’s coaching staff has remained in contact with Gates and ensured him that they want him to be part of this class.

“Our communication is good,” Gates said. “I mostly talk to coach Lupoi and coach Scott. They’re talking commitment of course.”

The Arizona-native is a 4-Star recruit. He is ranked as the No.21 safety in the nation.

The Crimson Tide are in a good position with Gates and a commitment soon is not out of the question. He feels his parents will play a vital role in his decision.

“I need my parents to feel secure about letting me go away,” Gates said. “I also want to build and join a brotherhood that will last for the rest of my life.”

Alabama has a total of 16 commits in their 2019 recruiting class and a total of three defensive back commits. Touchdown Alabama Magazine will keep you updated on Gate’s recruitment.

The Tide has Shifted

quote:

Nick Saban believes in continued growth. He preaches consistent focus and preparation to avoid complacency in the locker room. Coming off a 2018 recruiting cycle where the Tide finish with a No. 6 ranked class, Saban knew that he had to have a better outcome in the 2019 cycle and they have succeeded thus far.

The Tide now has a total of 16 commits in their 2019 recruiting class and they currently have the No.1 ranked class in the nation. Many 2019 recruits feel there is a new or fresh feel around the program.

“There is a fresh more energetic feel around the program, which I think has been a huge thing in recruiting” Alabama commit, Pierce Quick said.

The excitement that the new coaching staff has brought to Tuscaloosa has rubbed off on the 2019 recruiting class. They are in constant communication and is looking forward to making their connection as strong as possible.

“There is a lot of positive energy,” Alabama commit, Shane Lee said. “I know for the 2019 recruiting class, we talk about Alabama every day and our excitement never dies down.”

The Tide’s new coaches also know that in Tuscaloosa it is a must that they succeed and continue the success Alabama has had on the gridiron. Alabama 2020 wideout commit, Dazalin Worsham feels they are up to the task.

“There is a lot of new guys that are hungry and want to win a national championship,” Worsham said.

Alabama commits are not the only ones that have benefit from these changes. Some of their top targets have noticed this as well.

“I know from the defensive back position, I like coach Scott,” Alabama 2020 DB target, Malachi Moore said. “He is a lot younger and he can relate to us.”

The No.1 LB in the nation, Nakobe Dean, didn’t have a strong relationship with Alabama’s old coaching staff. Alabama now has a good chance at landing him and he has a good relationship with Alabama linebacker coach, Pete Golding.

Alabama hopes the momentum that these guys have brought carries them back to the top of the recruiting mountain.

Malachi Moore Receives an offer From Alabama

quote:

Malachi Moore received an offer from Alabama on Monday after a great camp performance.

“It means alot,” Moore said. “Alabama has such a big legacy of winning and a history of putting defensive backs in the league.”

Moore was brought into Nick Saban’s office after Monday’s camp and Saban personally told him he received an offer from Alabama.

“Our conversation was cool,” Moore added. “It was actually my first time going to his office and talking to him.”

The Hewitt-Trussville product is a 2020 4-Star recruit and is the No.1 DB in the state of Alabama. He has three teammates that have already committed to Alabama: Paul Tyson, Pierce Quick and Dazalin Worsham. They wasted no time trying to get him to commit.

“They told me to commit as soon as I got the offer,” Moore said.

Moore expressed that this offer does put Alabama towards the top of his list. Alabama currently has three commits in their 2020 recruiting class and would like to add Moore.
