Nakobe dean is a guy we have been watching so long, id hate not to land him

Per an extremely influential MS booster that knows recruiting in that state like the back of his hand, Uga has made a bit of a move, but has NOT passed Bama. We'll see how his visit with us goes in a couple weeks.

It's impossible for Nakobe Dean to find a better college choice for himself than Bama -- period.
Dean is a straight-As student, wants to major in engineering and had a great meeting with UA's Dean of Engineering. He has NFL aspirations, wants to be great, appreciates the value of great coaching and competition for PT and wants to play on a great SEC team full of great players. Dean has close relationships with and likes Golding, Lupoi and Saban a lot. #HighAchiever

Also, Mycah Pittman to UF CBs are continuing today. He's originally from FL, but he claims no leader and is setting up Sep-Oct OVs (including UA) to decide and commit soon after his OVs.

I know that there's a thread for this, but I wanted to make sure everyone reads it.

“If he was in the Class of 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020, he would still be the No. 1 kicker in the country,” Sailer said. “He’s that good. If I brought him to any campus of where my current college starters are, they'd be fearful of their job if Will came to compete. I will go a step further. I even believe you could put him in an NFL camp right now. He’s that good. He’s ready for the next level. That’s how special Will is. Everyone fears Will, no matter what age he is.”
This is quite the compliment.

Yes it is. I don't doubt that Reichard is very good, but I take it with a grain of salt whenever players' HS coaches gush heavily about how great they are. Of course that's from Chris Sailer, Reichard's kicking coach, not his HS coach. Two years ago, Sailer was asked by Will's dad, when he learned he only had a short time left to live, to also be a father figure for Will, and he's been doing that. Will's dad was also Will's best friend. I hope Will becomes the greatest kicker Bama's ever had.

Imo, the judge should've ruled this: "There is sufficient evidence to show not only that Reuben Foster is innocent of the domestic violence charges brought against him, but also that appropriate false accusation charges should be brought against the previously alledged victim."

Nathan Pickering plans to visit UA next month, tentatively June 1. Also, somehow I missed and didn't post the following May 7th article:

LINK ]Top50 DL says Tide has 'great chance' to land his signature (BamaOnLine, 05/07/18)
quote:
COLLINS, MS — Nathan Pickering isn’t yet ready to narrow his top 10 down. Each one — Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas, and USC — has a 10 percent chance, he says.
But when asked to elaborate on the Crimson Tide’s chances, the Seminary (Miss.) product opened up a little bit more about where the program stands. “They have a great chance,” Pickering told BamaOnLine. “Alabama is a great all-around school. They’re on me pretty hard. Coach (Nick) Saban knows that I can be a first-rounder. I believe him.
"One thing about him that’s different from other coaches is he doesn’t tell you want you want to hear, he tells you what you need to hear. He’s the only one that’s told me I won’t start. He told me I’ll be on the second team working for the first (team). That right there sets a difference between him and other coaches. I know they have a great chance.”
Pickering says that both Pete Golding and Tosh Lupoi, his primary recruiter and defensive coordinator, respectively, are on him “pretty hard” texting every day. Golding has already come by the high school as well.

The last time Pickering was on campus in Tuscaloosa was for the Arkansas game. It was the first visit, however, that the four-star defender had a chance to meet the Dean of an Engineering School. Pickering will make his return to Tuscaloosa for the first time on June 2 or June 9 for camp.
“Education,” Pickering said of the message the Tide staff is working to drive home with him. “They know that education is the most important thing to me. They have a great engineering program. They were the first team that allowed me to meet with the Engineering Dean (Charles L. Karr). That was pretty exciting.”
Of the schools Pickering is hearing from most, he identified LSU, Mississippi State, and Alabama “Right now, those three schools text me every day,” he said. Still, regardless of frequency of communication, Pickering is in no rush to make a decision.
“I’m trying to wait until Signing Day, but if something happens or God tells me something different, I’m going to have to do what he tells me,” he said. “I’m trying to wait it out until Signing Day.”

Pickering sees several positives about the Crimson Tide program and the opportunity he’d have in T-Town.
“It’s a great school,” he said. “Of course you have an excellent chance of winning a national championship, you have a great chance of getting a degree, and they have a great life after football. I know after football I can be a proud alumni of Alabama. I know they’re going to take care of me after football.
“The way they run their defense, it’s a great fit for me. They like their defensive linemen big and tall. I’d be a great fit. Then, again, education-wise, the mechanical engineering program is excellent, so I could definitely see myself fitting in there.”
As for whether Pickering feels it will be hard to leave the Magnolia State for college … “Not at all,” he said. “I feel like there are a lot of things out there in the world that I can experience, so I’m pretty sure that leaving the state won’t be a problem for me at all. I love going out and exploring things and meeting new people.”
Alabama, LSU, and USC are set to get official visits down the road, though dates have not yet been scheduled.
At 6-foot-3.5, 286 pounds, Pickering is rated the No. 4 strong-side defensive end and the No. 49 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Mississippi State currently holds the lead on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

LINK ]Mississippians Shine at Dallas Nike Regional (247Sports/OleMiss, 05/15/18, segment)
quote:
Speaking of growing, how about Nathan Pickering out of Seminary. He checked in at 6-foot-3 1/2, 289 pounds. It seemed like yesterday when we saw him as a freshman at 232-pounds.
The added weight has not slowed him down much, as he ran a 5.2 forty. Best out of all of the linemen who weighed over 280 pounds. But what is even more impressive is his short shuttle. At almost 290-pounds he runs a 4.62 Wow! Yes, big ole Nathan can get out of his stance in a hurry and run you down.
That is why he has moved up to the No. 48 overall ranked player in the country. He has elite skills and frame for the next level. Ole Miss was the first to offer, but that was many moons ago.. Pretty much every Power 5 program you can think of has offered.
The trend seems to point towards MSU, Ole Miss, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Alabama. Don't worry, you will hear more "Nathan Pickering" rumors from here on out; you might start dreaming about his recruitment. Why is that? He will be a February signing day decision, likely on ESPN. Goodness, that makes my head hurt just thinking about it!
Here is what the scouts had to say about Pickering:
"Nathan Pickering, Seminary (Miss.) High School – Pickering inched closer to five-star status with his performance in Dallas. Already a top 50 recruit, he jumped even higher and is probably a strong performance in pads at The Opening Finals away from his fifth star. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State and Ole Miss are all chasing."

Everyone knows LSU will do well on the recruiting trail in its home state, but what schools could come in and challenge the Tigers for some of the best? After spending three days in Louisiana and visiting more than 20 schools last week, here are five out-of-state programs based on feedback from prospects we saw that seem to have a real buzz in Louisiana.
MORE: The road trip through Louisiana
1. ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE
If you spend time at Amite (La.), then you will hear or even see Alabama. Devonta Smith caught the game-winning touchdown in the national championship game in January and he is from there.
When there last week, Rivals100 athlete Devonta Lee was wearing a Crimson Tide pullover. He has Alabama very high on his list and most feel the Tide are right there at the top with LSU. He is likely to spend time in Tuscaloosa this summer.
Five-star defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher will be back as well. When asked how many times he has visited Alabama, Sopsher said he lost count.
John Emery is a running back Alabama had its eye on last Wednesday during the Destrehan spring game. Assistant coach Joe Punnunzio had his camera on any time Emery hit the field.
A couple of young wideouts have the Tide on their early radar as well – Emery’s teammate, Quincy Brown, and Breaux Bridge (La.) playmaker Dartravion Girod. Alabama was the first school to offer Brown earlier this spring. Girod doesn’t have an offer from the Tide yet, but plans to camp there this summer.

Said this on the AU board, this recruitment is gonna be a wild one to follow. I know a lot of Bama ppl feel good about him & now UGA seems to be confident. Throw in the academic threat of Stanford & the instate madness of Ole Miss & got a feeling there will be a lot of curves in his recruitment
Meanwhile AU is just begging him to visit a 2nd time
