FIRST TAKE: TONY TSOUKALAS, BAMAINSIDER.COM
“I believe Alabama is the best place for elite talent to not only develop but also to get noticed. Alabama has yet to miss an appearance in the College Football Playoff, which provides potential draft picks with extra games on the big stage to showcase their ability. Pair that with the notable opening games Alabama plays and the fact that it plays in college football’s most-watched conference and that’s a lot of exposure.
“I also think that by now Nick Saban has developed a good reputation for developing talent. Because of that, Alabama players might be given the benefit of the doubt by scouts.
“The national championship game also showed Alabama’s willingness to give freshmen playing time. Alabama seems to have embraced players leaving early for the NFL, and gives top talent every opportunity to develop their NFL careers as soon as possible.”

SECOND TAKE: MIKE FARRELL, RIVALS.COM
“You could say Ohio State is in the same ballpark when it comes to first-rounders. That’s what everybody cares about. Alabama is still probably the bar-setter when it comes to that. Clemson is moving up in that category but Alabama is definitely the one. If you want to become a high-level NFL prospect, you go to Alabama.
“LSU has the most players in the NFL, but it’s still Alabama to me.”
Shocker: Mike Farrell didn't dis Bama this time.

Does anybody have the scoop on Patrick Lucas from Wetumpka? He's a 2019 DL. I'm no evaluator but his junior film looks pretty decent. Has a CB to us as well. Does he have an offer? Does he favor us?
Per 247Sports and Rivals, Bama has not yet offered him. I don't recall seeing any mention of him, but it doesn't necessarily mean Bama isn't showing him any interest. There'll be junior days and camps coming up that he may be invited to attend. Keep in mind tho, the stars are aligned for Bama to load up on elite talent in the 2019 class.

Alabama recruiting question of the day: Tide’s top running back options in 2019 class
Alabama signed one running back in the 2018 class: 4-star prospect Jerome Ford. The Crimson Tide will lose Damien Harris after this season. When the 2019 running back(s) get to campus, Josh Jacobs will be a senior, Najee Harris and Brian Robinson will be juniors and Ford likely will be a redshirt freshman.
I expect Alabama to sign two running backs in the 2019 class. More names will emerge over the next few months, but these prospects currently are the team’s top targets.
Trey Sanders, 5-star RB, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
Trey Sanders committed to Alabama as a sophomore and de-committed from the Crimson Tide last month. Sanders told SEC Country that Alabama is his leader.
“I only get this chance one time to get recruited in high school,” Sanders said. “It’s a one-time thing. I’m going to take my time and enjoy the process.
“I was thinking about it for a while and me and my family got together to talk about it. We decided that it would be best for me to open my recruitment back up.”
So Sanders de-committed from Alabama because he wants to enjoy his recruitment as an uncommitted player. It’s not common for a player to re-commit to a school, so we’ll see what happens with Sanders over the next few months. He has visited Tuscaloosa several times.

Quavaris Crouch, 5-star RB, Harding University (Charlotte, N.C.)
Quavaris Crouch is built like an Alabama running back. He’s 6-foot-2 and weighs more than 220 pounds. Crouch rushed for 3,246 yards 33 touchdowns during his junior season to go with 51 tackles and 14 sacks on defense.
He’s a giant priority for the Tide, and he’s already visited Tuscaloosa.

Tyrion Davis, 4-star RB, Southern Lab (Baton Rouge, La.) — committed to LSU
Tyrion Davis recently told SEC Country that Alabama is his No. 2 school. Could an underwhelming season at LSU be enough to change his mind? He’s a former teammate of sophomore linebacker Chris Allen, but current teammate Kardell Thomas, a 5-star guard, is committed to LSU and locked in with the Tigers.
Thomas and Davis are very close and have expressed their desire to play together at the next level. Davis has said that competition doesn’t scare him one bit, and said he wouldn’t have minded being committed to Alabama with Trey Sanders there.

John Emery Jr., 4-star RB, Destrehan (La.)
John Emery received an offer from Alabama fewer than two weeks ago. Not much is known about his interest in Alabama, but he’s a major target for LSU, too.
