LINK ]Who’s next to select Alabama after recent run of commitments for Crimson Tide?

Antonio Alfano is rated as the nation's No. 5 strongside defensive end in the 2019 class.

Alabama finished seventh in the 2018 class recruiting rankings, but expect the Crimson Tide to be back on top in 2019. SEC Country’s Chris Kirschner will answer the Recruiting Question of the Day each weekday. You can ask him your questions on  Twitter or on  Facebook. Find our previous questions and answers  here.

Who’s next to commit to Alabama?

Alabama has added three commitments in the last week: 4-star offensive tackle Amari Kight, 4-star outside linebacker Kevin Harris and 4-star defensive tackle DJ Dale. Coming off A-Day two weekends ago, the Crimson Tide have been hot on the recruiting trail.

There are no signs of slowing down — as far as momentum goes — but the commitments may not come at such a fast pace in the coming weeks. Let’s take a look at who may be next to choose the Tide.

Antonio Alfano, 4-star DE, Colonia (N.J.)

Antonio Alfano is down to Alabama, Georgia and Penn State. He told SEC Country that he’s planning on making a decision no later than Aug. 1. As of now, this seems like a battle between the Crimson Tide and Nittany Lions. He’s taken two visits to Tuscaloosa since his recruitment began, and this last trip really opened his eyes to possibly playing for the Tide.

Christian Harris, 4-star ILB, University Lab (Baton Rouge, La.)

Christian Harris is also planning a summer commitment. Harris has taken visits to Georgia, Texas and Texas A&M in recent weeks. Before those trips, Alabama should have been considered the favorite to land Harris. I’m not sure where things stand after those three visits, but the Crimson Tide will be a top contender when he makes his commitment. He nearly committed to the Tide the first time he visited. The same feelings he had on that visit returned the second time he visited.

Jayson Jones, 2020 5-star DT, Calera (Ala.)

I know Jayson Jones says he’ll commit to either Alabama, Florida State, Georgia or Mississippi State on July 4, but this really is just a battle between the Tide and Bulldogs. Jones told SEC Country last week that Alabama was his leader. I fully expect him to choose the Tide on July 4, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him choose Alabama before then.

Jaylen McCollough, 4-star S, Hillgrove (Powder Springs, Ga.)

There has been some back-and-forth on where Alabama stands with Jaylen McCollough. The staff likes McCollough, and he can commit to the Tide right now if he wanted to. He’s visited Alabama more than any other school.

Will Reichard, 3-star K, Hoover (Ala.)

Will Reichard has been on commitment watch for more than a month. He’s down to Alabama, Georgia and LSU. The Crimson Tide are viewed as the favorites because of Tuscaloosa’s proximity to Hoover High School. Reichard told SEC Country that he would like to play somewhere close to home because having his family attend as many games as possible is important to him.

I think these guys are also candidates to be Alabama's next public commitment:

Devonta Lee
Faatui Tuitele
Mohamoud Diabate
Byron Young
Noa Pola-Gates

Since Diabate has a committable offer, do you think that pushes out Henry and Bentley? I think we'll land Christian Harris and Nakobe Dean, and if Diabate commits that would make 6 LB's this class.

Yeah. ILBs (3) who can play early is a top priority in this class. I think Bama feels confident about landing Nakobe Dean and Christian Harris. I also think the staff feels a summer PT program will have them and Shane Lee physically ready to play. They're pretty much there already. Of course they have to learn the playbook too. My point is that means there's less need to take a Juco ILB.

Diabate projects well at both OLB and ILB and has great upside. So, I think all that adds up to why Diabate is a definite take. Dean, C Harris and Diabate makes 6 LBs, and I think Thibodeaux or Nolan Smith would get a 7th LB spot, but I doubt Henry or Bentley would. I think Henry, Bentley and Rian Davis are backups for Dean, C. Harris and Diabate.
