He's way better than Smith. I was living in Tampa during Smith's recruitment and saw him in person. He wasn't close to Lee.

A BOL insider just posted this:

Nope got them rolling all the way to A-day... We told them this year was going to be on steriods. There is a 80% chance someone go public on Saturday that will send a certain rival into a complete meltdown. I hate the silent commit thing but we currently have 3 more inside the top 40

I would love to get a commitment from Webb. He could be a 3 or 4 year starter for us.

We are seriously on the verge of signing the best class in college football history.

It's going to be biblical.

I just want to add that Shane Lee, not Eyabi Anoma, was the best player on the field in the game I watched last Fall for St. Francis.

He was a fricking monster.

Watching the RCS video from this weekend made me a believer that Clay Webb is the best player in the country.

He looked incredible.

So it looks like this staff is pushing guys to go ahead and commit early. This early signing period is definitely the new signing day

I agree with this. The kid would anchor our line for years. I sure wish he would commit. I think he's the type of kid that once he commits, the recruiting process will be over for him.

Our options and potential class right now are absolutely ridiculous. Going to be another logjam by the end of Fall/early Winter for those final few spots. Guys are jumping on board while they can now.

As they should. We still have 20 spots in this class.

I think they learned from last year not to slow-play and hold off on guys that wanted to commit early, but ended up elsewhere. It was a good learning experience. Also, Saban appears to have hit a homerun with the new hires when it comes to recruiting. The new hires appear to be developing better relationships with the recruits and have a greater deal of energy. This class is going to be epic, and if the new hires can coach half as well as they recruit, we're going to be just fine.
