If he doesn't come here don't worry we have four or five guys better than him waiting.
This DL class is going to be insane. We're thin, but I think that will be to our benefit given how incredibly deep the DL group is in the 2019 class and the fact that many of them are in close proximity or are in states where we have landed players recently.
I think we'll take 5 DL this cycle. We could take 6 depending on how we make out at other positions. I think those 5 will be:
Cheney
Tuitele
Byron Young
Sopsher
Any 1 of Pickering, Handy and Alfano.
Gun to my head, I think we land Handy out of those 3, and we put an exclamation point on the state of Mississippi by landing Nakobe Dean and flipping Jerrion Ealy. That would give us 5 solid prospects from Mississippi. I think Pickering is Auburn bound, as of now. IMO, Pickering is the best DE prospect that we are in the hunt for. Byron Young named us his leader and I think he's very underrated - I actually liked his film better than Handy's.

This class is shaping up to be a class for the ages if we land a few home runs. If not we lead for some guys not far behind them so either way its a win win class for Saban which will give us the #1 or #2 class

There is a standard numbering procedure...I think you did it wrong.
The first girl in the top row should be known as 1, then the girl next to her along the top should be known as 2, then the first girl on the bottom row is known as 3, etc... Then proceed to rank them in order of WWYD by their assigned number.
6,2,5,8, blah....

Daphne 2019 cornerback Christian Williams commits to Alabama (al.com)
quote:
Four-star cornerback Christian Williams of Daphne committed to the Crimson Tide on Monday afternoon. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Williams made his announcement via Twitter. Williams received an Alabama offer in December and, at the time, called it "a dream offer."
He is currently the fourth-ranked player in the state for the class of 2019, according to the 247 composite rankings. He had numerous other offers including Auburn, Arizona, Florida, Iowa, LSU and Michigan.
"Honestly, I wanted to go ahead and secure a spot," said Williams, who sent out his tweet from the Baldwin County track meet in Gulf Shores. "I always wanted to go to Alabama. It just felt right."

Williams' high school coach, Kenny King, also played at Alabama. However, King said he did not point him to one school or another and actually didn't know he was committing on Monday.
"It's one of the best schools in the country obviously," King said. "If they offer you a chance to come play there, you have to consider it. When I was deciding where to go, Alabama wasn't quite as successful as they are now, but I grew up an Alabama fan so that is where I wanted to play. They are on top right now. Frankly, if the best school in the nation wants you, it's probably not a tough decision."
Williams, a first-team AL.com Coastal Alabama selection, finished his junior season with 27 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery. He starred on a defense that allowed just 119 points in 11 games. He also played wide receiver for the 8-3 Trojans. King said the sky is the limit for Williams at Alabama.
"The way he moves -- he's sitting at 6-foot-2 and he moves like he's 5-foot-8," King said of Williams. "Christian is a great athlete. He can play anywhere on the field. He has incredible ball skills. We used him at wide receiver some last year and this year he'll play quarterback a little for us, too.
"He'll be very good at Alabama. He is going to a school that is known to produce corners and defensive backs as a whole. Coach (Nick) Saban coaches that position so you know you are learning from the best. There is obviously a lot of upside there."

It marks the second year in a row Saban has pulled a top cornerback out of Mobile. Jalyn Armour-Davis of St. Paul's signed with Alabama in December. The Crimson Tide now has commitments from three of the top 10 players in the state for 2019. The others are both from Hewitt-Trussville -- offensive tackle Pierce Quick (No. 2) and quarterback Paul Tyson (No. 9). The state's top prospect, according to 247, is offensive lineman Clay Webb of Oxford.
"At Alabama, it's the best going against the best every day and that excites me," Williams said. "They produce great players, and they win games because they are a team. The coaches push you and encourage you, and that is what we all need."
Williams said he plans to attend A-Day this week in Tuscaloosa before heading to the Under-Armour All-America Camp in Atlanta. He also said he was still hoping to visit a few other schools, including Florida, Mississippi State and Clemson. "I still want to enjoy the process," he said.
Williams is the fourth player in Coastal Alabama to commit to an SEC school in the last few months. The others are McGill-Toolen NG LeDarrius Cox (Tennessee) and Spanish Fort CB D.J. James (Mississippi State) -- both 2019 players -- and 2020 Spanish Fort ATH Kris Abrams-Draine (LSU).

Elite LB Shane Lee talks first trip to Alabama (BamaOnLine-VIP)
4-star LB Shane Lee 6-1/240 (MD) hudl
Shane Lee, his parents and a teammate, 4-star tackle Darrian Dalcourt, visited and toured UA for the first time last weekend. Lee and Dalcourt attend St. Frances Academy in Baltimore with 2018 Tide signee Eyabi Anoma.
Coach Locksley has a close and long-standing relationship with Lee and his parents. Lee is also good friends with Terrell Lewis, who's from DC, and has learned a lot about Bama's program from him.
Lee is well aware of Bama's lack of depth and need at ILB, but said it isn't a big factor to him. He didn't indicate any leaders and said he and his parents liked what saw at Bama. Lee said there is no planned timeframe for his decision.

Alabama wins the Christian Williams sweepstakes
quote:
Daphne (Ala.) four-star cornerback Christian Williams announced Wednesday afternoon that he has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.Williams is a 6-foot-1, 175 pound Rivals 250 prospect that had offers from many SEC powers and he chose to stay home with Alabama.
Lets dive into who the winner and losers are in this race.
THE WINNER
The obvious winner here is Alabama. Williams has been considered a Crimson Tide lean for some time. He has visited there more than any other school and once the new staff took shape and he was able to have a few conversations, things really looked good for the Tide.
Alabama loves corners like Williams, so he has been a top priority for them for some time. Defensive backs is a big need in this class, so Williams is a big pick up for the Tide.

THE LOSERS
Tennessee made a late run with Jeremy Pruitt as the head coach and the Vols actually had Williams on campus recently, but the real losers here are Auburn and LSU. Williams visited Auburn a couple of times and took a strong look at LSU earlier this year when he was in Baton Rouge.
Alabama took Patrick Surtain Jr. from LSU on Signing Day and now they could have found the cornerback to play opposite of him in a couple of years. Auburn was invested in Williams too, and they worked him hard, but the in-state Tigers never seemed to be on the same level as Alabama in this one.
THE BREAKDOWN
Alabama is getting a cornerback with length, quickness, athleticism and true upside. You see his quickness and speed instantly when watching his tape because he was asked to play a lot of wide receiver last year due to team needs. His ball skills are strong and he is not scared to stick his hat in there against the run or if he's asked to blitz off the corner.
He has a great frame and he is going to add good weight. He could be a combo defensive back, but he is likely to start out at cornerback. He is still a little raw in technique, but this season he will focus mostly on defense, so he will go into Alabama prepared to compete for playing time.

Lately, it's looking like Trey Sanders is likely to go to Florida. His brother is a preferred walk-on juco transfer UF commit and his mom is a big Gators fan. He plays at IMG, but is from Port St. Joe, FL which is a little bit east of Panama City Beach. He says he's still considering other schools, but he's been visiting UF a lot lately and getting some CBs predicting UF.

That's a little Trey Depriest-like. Makes me worry he stays in the middle and thumps, but can't cover or go lateral if needed. That said, I've seen exactly zero seconds of the kids film and am basing my opinion entirely off his height/weight ratio and should prolly give the kid the benefit of the doubt.

About 5%, I want him too but we have a good chance at flipping the kid from Mississippi. The staff must be really high on him

Cordale Flott just committed to Auburn.

The Tide is running in the third spot behind Ohio State (1st) and Georgia (2nd) for 2020 safety Lejond Cavazos out of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, he tells 247Sports’ Bill Kurelic. The Lone Star State native has visited Tuscaloosa in the past, and with the Tide’s presence at IMG Academy in recent cycles, you can bet UA will remain a factor for Cavasos and others going forward.
