I dont care if he isn't physical, if he knows the defense even decently well, its important to have a body there.

He will be a Redshirt Junior this year. He needs to finally play like his dad, being a tackling machine.

I dont think learning the calls is as big as an issue as some think.

Another piece of good news ; Finebaum just said that Rivals has anointed Georgia as the Number 1 class this year.

This has been hashed out so many times. It is a real issue to be the signal caller and also play at ILB at the same time for inexperienced players. Assuming we bring in a JUCO or grad transfer, they at best would be the second ILB learning a brand new defense.

I'm not sure why this board wants to downplay the difficulty of picking up a Saban defense when that is something Players and Saban both say are a real barrier to new players coming in.

Holcombe knew the calls, got to play, and wasn't really good for us. He played ahead of the people who didn't know the calls. Think about that for a second.

Holcombe was fine until he had to become the signal caller, that has been confirmed multiple times that having to make the signal calls destroyed his processing and slowed him down the point of being ineffective across the board.

Once we got Neal, Wright wasn't a priority any more

Not a surprise, Wright got put on the backburner once we got the better tackle in Neal.

Oh, I'm agreeing with you. I saw the Mississippi State game. A graduate/juco ILB does us no good.

I am happy with the ILB's we got. Here is my view on the options we were chasing.
3-4 Mike LB #1 Shane Lee / #2 Dean / #3 DH (we got the one I like best)
4-3 Mike LB #1 HT / #2 DH / #3 Dean (good thing we do not run the 4-3)
3-4 WIL LB #1 HT / #2 CH (We already have Moses and AK plus CH to develop - We good)
Dime package Mack LB #1 HT / #2 Christian Harris / #3 DH (We already have AK (better option than HT or DH and we have CH to develop - We good)

Of the options we were chasing, the order I wanted them was SL (our biggest need), DH, ND, HT, CH - we got #1 and #5 - not a bad place to be. We need 1 Mike and 1 WIL next year.
