The 3* TE has the Fighting Kirby's his leader after this past weekend's trip to UGA
With Irv Smith Jr. declaring for the NFL Draft early, it’s possible Alabama brings in another tight end to the class to join Billingsley. Seither has emerged as the most likely of options at this time. Special teams and tight ends coach Jeff Banks went to Florida to visit with the rising prospect last week. Nick Saban and Banks returned on Tuesday to see him prior to his visit. Seither named Georgia his leader after his official visit to Athens last weekend. The Tide will get a chance to impress the East Coast native this weekend.

Surge and/or Saint what are our chances with Daniel Heimuli? I know he is OVing UW this weekend. To bad he could not visit with To'oto'o. Are we getting a visit?
I think Daniel Heimuli has been recruited in case Bama missed on Christian Harris or Henry To'oto'o. If HT and DH both want to sign with Bama, it may require a tough decision on who Bama doesn't take at another position in order to fit both in.
There are 5 (maybe 6) spots left for:
1) RB - Robinson (commit)
2) DL - Young (commit)
3) OLB - Bogle (commit)
4) ILB - To'oto'o
5) DL - Sopsher, Pickering, Fuller, Sorrells, Hunte
6) TE - Seither
7) ILB - Heimuli
8) DB - Williams (commit)
9) OL - Shepherd
I think #s 1-4 (Robinson, Young, Bogle, To'oto'o) are Bama's top priorities. I also think the chances are pretty good that Bama can/will sign those 4.

I was wondering about this too. I was wondering if Heimuli is a "just in case" guy or a guy who was recruited all along and who has looked better during his senior season.

Obviously Bama is actively recruiting more than there's room for. We don't know for sure who the priorities are or what the players will decide. We should have a better feel for how the class will finish out after these last two visit weekends.

I suspect that Heimuli is a back-up plan for Toto. I could be wrong, but I can't see us signing 4 ILB's in one class (Lee, Harris, Toto and Heimuli.) If Toto doesn't come, Heimuli would be a solid consolation prize.

Alabama will have recruits on campus for the first time in 2019 this upcoming weekend both officially and for the Crimson Tide’s Junior Day.
Nick Saban and his new-look staff are working on closing out the No. 1-ranked recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings, with a bang, and they have the opportunity to do so starting Friday.
Bama has already signed 24 members of its class, so the focus has narrowed to a much more select group of recruits.
Here’s a look at the official visitors expected on campus this weekend.
* BOL will publish the Junior Day visitors list closer to the weekend.

ISHMAEL SOPSHER, 4-STAR DT, AMITE (LA)
Note: It's uncertain whether Rodney Sopsher can graduate juco in time to enroll in the fall of 2019. He's classified as a 2020 prospect, and thereby isn't eligible to sign an NLI for 2019.

Alabama will get the 4-star defensive lineman from the Bayou State back on campus for the first time since the Iron Bowl. The Tide, LSU and Ole Miss are all expected to host the nation’s No. 4 defensive tackle in the next two weeks. The 247Sports Crystal Ball has trended more towards the Tide in the last couple of months. Sopsher has stated he won’t go to a school that doesn’t take his brother Rodney, a junior college defensive lineman. To date, the only two programs that have offered Rodney are LSU and Oregon. We’ll see how make or break of a factor that is this weekend when the 6-foot-3.5, 334-pounder visits campus.

HENRY TO'OTO'O, 4-STAR OLB, CONCORD, CA
quote:
Arguably the most important recruit remaining on the board, the 4-star ILB target is returning to campus at a pivotal time in his recruitment. To’oto’o was close with former Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, with the De La Salle ties playing an important role as far as connections go.
The All-American linebacker is still giving the Tide a chance, though, as inside linebackers coach Pete Golding has been working on keeping Alabama in the fold. The Tide’s chief competition looks to be Tennessee at this time.
Golding saw To’oto’o earlier this week and Nick Saban will likely go in-home with the family next week. The Tide looks to be getting the final visit unless To’oto’o opts to take his last allotted trip next weekend to Oregon or USC. The Tide is still trending on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

JAVONNE SHEPHERD, 4-STAR OT, HOUSTON (TX) — TEXAS COMMIT
quote:
More offensive linemen? It’s possible as the Tide continues showing interest in the Texas commit from Houston. Shepherd is still considering schools like Texas A&M, Georgia and the Tide despite still being committed to the Longhorns. The 6-foot-6, 327-pounder has said all along Alabama is among is top group of schools.

JARED HARRISON-HUNTE, 3-STAR DT,
MIDDLE VILLAGE (NY)
ETA: Jared Harrison-Hunte opted to take a 2nd OV to Miami instead of Bama this weekend according to Andrew Ivins (InsideTheU). Ivins CBd him to Miami; Penn St and Temple mods followed suit.

Alabama expressed interest in Harrison-Hunte last month and it has spilled over into the New Year with the 6-foot-4, 286-pounder’s plans to officially visit Tuscaloosa this weekend. Penn State and Miami hold 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, the Nittany Lions holding the majority at the time. Harrison-Hunte is relatively new to football, so the recruiting process is relatively new to Harrison-Hunte. New Tide assistant Kyle Flood along with Craig Kuligowski were in New York on Tuesday to visit with up-and-coming DL.

I can see us taking four.

If this was really the case he would demand his brother to on the OV as well. Why come for an OV to UA without him on one as well.

This kid is legit and see him as a take. Him and To'oto'o I believe know each other well and spent a lot of time together at the Poly Bowl. He also was the defensive player of the game.
I doubt he ends up anywhere other then UW but we are the only team not bordering the Pacific he likes.

Inside final ranking for 5-star Alabama recruit Jeffery Carter
quote:
Mansfield (Texas) Legacy cornerback Jeffery Carter made a splash six weeks ago when he flipped from SEC West foe Texas A&M to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Less than a month later, Carter was already rolling through bowl practices in Tuscaloosa.
Carter passed on all-star opportunities in order to get to campus as soon as possible at Alabama. The 6-foot, 186-pound cornerback finished strong in the 247Sports rankings anyway as the No. 30 overall prospect and third-best at his position.
“He was an All-American like a lot of these guys, but he decided not to play in the All-American Bowl,” said 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons. “He chose instead to play on campus and practice with his team. Justin Gilbert is the comp as far as a really good, athletic corner. This is a guy with a 10.5 100-meter, 23-foot-7 long jump, so one of the elite athletes at the corner position in this class. But also (he has) really good ball skills, offensive skill set and a big-bodied kid.”
Nick Saban and Alabama’s ability to develop defensive backs helped sway Carter’s decision.
“He’s going to get you to the league,” Carter said earlier this year. “He’s going to be coaching the corners. You’re getting coached by Coach Saban, you’re talking to him every day, you’re in the film room with him every day. He’s going to put you in the best spot to have a real good draft grade. He says he loves me as a wide receiver and he loves me as a corner, but he says that my best chance to go to the draft is at corner and I really believe that because it’s Coach Saban, I think he knows what he’s talking about.”

Man, I was looking at Becks throwing percentage this year 209 for 356. 58% . I mean I like him he moves in the pocket good and throws a nice ball . Don’t want to lose him , but I thought he would be better than that , for Florida player of the year!
