Meet Alabama’s 2020 Early commits
quote:
Alabama’s main focus, as far as recruiting is concern, is bringing in some of the top talent to filled its 2019 recruiting class, but that does not stop their coaching staff from recruiting players outside of the 2019 recruiting cycle. The Crimson Tide currently has two verbal commitments from players in the 2020 class. Here is some information you need to know about the both of them.

quote:
Javier Morton
Morton is a 4-Star CB out of Stone Mountain, Georgia. He stands at 6-feet-1-inches and weighs 175 pounds. He has great ball judgement skills and a slender frame that enables him to leap into the air and fight for these 50/50 balls. He is not extremely fast, but has the potential to make an impact in a zone coverage defense, which is what he currently plays in most of the time. The Georgia-native will continue to improve as he is only a sophomore. He gave Alabama a verbal commitment on Dec. 1.

quote:
Jackson Bratton
Bratton is a 4-Star ILB out of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He has great size for the linebacker position at 6-feet-3-inches and 215 pounds. He will continue to fill out his frame during his last two seasons of high school football. Bratton knows how to anchor a defense and be a leader. He is very vocal and knows how to communicate with his teammates. One of his biggest tools is his tackling ability. He knows how to lower the boom and make ball carriers remember him for the rest of the night. He gave Alabama a verbal commitment on Saturday.

Auburn makes 'big impression' on 4-star DL
This kid sure does enjoy his visits.
quote:
AUBURN | Four-star defensive lineman Jaren Handy visited Auburn for the first time on Saturday, and he’s already planning to return.
The former LSU commitment spent the day watching the Tigers scrimmage and meeting with the coaches.
“I loved it,” Handy said. “It was one of the better visits I’ve been on.”
Handy, from Perry Central in New Augusta, Miss., met and spoke with area recruiter Marcus Woodson, defensive line coach Rodney Garner, defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, coach Gus Malzahn and even Malzahn’s wife, Kristi.
“I liked the coaches being real with me,” Handy said. “And I loved the defensive coach…I love Coach Garner.”
Handy plans to return to Auburn on June 2. He doesn’t list any leaders, but said Auburn made a move on Saturday.
“I don’t have anybody standing out right now, but Auburn made a big impression on me,” Handy said. “They said they’ll be sending off No. 5 (Derrick Brown) and No. 3 (Marlon Davidson) after their junior years, hopefully, so I could come in and start as a true freshman.”
Rivals ranks Handy, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 273 pounds, the No. 4 player in Mississippi, the No. 14 strongside defensive end in the country and No. 128 in the Rivals250.
This kid sure does enjoy his visits.

LSU in strong position with 5-star DT Ishmael Sopsher
quote:
Defensive tackle was a major emphasis for LSU in the 2018 recruiting class. That’s why coach Ed Orgeron adds about 700 pounds of Texas beef to the middle of his defensive line in the forms of Dominic Livingston (6-foot-3, 350 pounds) and Chasen Hines (6-3, 335).
The Tigers’ top nose tackle, Ed Alexander, is draft-eligible after this season, so Orgeron will look to add one or two more to supplement their depth in the middle in 2019.
Joseph Evans, a 3-star tackle from Haynesville (La.) High School, is already on board. He isn’t a prototypical interior tackle and could eventually grow into a 5-technique depending on how much he grows between now and when he enrolls next summer. He’s also an early building block in the 2019 class with much of the focus on the top two tackles in the entire country.
Ishmael Sopsher, a 5-star tackle from Amite (La.) High, and Faatui Tuitele, a 5-star from St. Louis (Hawaii) High, are the top two at their position in the class. It’s no coincidence they sit in those positions on LSU’s board, too. Because Sopsher hails from 45 minutes out of Baton Rouge and has been a routine visitor over the past two years, he is clearly the top priority at tackle on the board and among the top overall needs in this recruiting class.
Sopsher has already been to campus for the elite junior day function in February and then the start of spring football practice earlier this month. He’s a prospect that has prioritized his family. He has an older brother, Rodney, who attends a nearby community college and aims to play close to his home in Tangipahoa Parish. That gives LSU a very unique edge.
It’s also worth noting that, so far, Sopsher has not made his way to other campuses for visits. That will very likely change in the next few weeks.
Tuitele, on the other hand, made a one-day unofficial stop at LSU early on for spring practice. He has connections to the program — Breiden Fehoko, LSU’s starting defensive end, hails from Hawaii. Dave Aranda, the Tigers’ defensive coordinator, once held that same position at Hawaii. Those are two prominent figures binding Tuitele to LSU.
Having said that, it’s hard not to overlook Sopsher’s connections to LSU and the unique advantage the Tigers are in with an in-state prospect. Orgeron has been courting Sopsher for years and was once his area recruiter. Dennis Johnson, the team’s ace young defensive line coach, has spearheaded efforts dating back to the spring and is making a serious impression on him. And, of course, you cannot ignore the proximity factor.
Expect some other schools to gain momentum with Sopsher in the next few months. Alabama, Clemson and even Texas are sure to assert themselves into the mix. Still, I like the Tigers’ chances.

BUFORD, Ga. — Kardell Thomas was a man on a mission.
Thomas, LSU’s highest-ranked commitment in the 2019 recruiting class, earned an invitation to Nike’s The Opening Finals in Dallas this summer. The 5-star lineman did so by dominating reps all afternoon long at the regional camp in Atlanta on Sunday.
Thomas, who measured up at 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, is the nation’s top offensive guard. He was one of nine campers who punched their ticket to the Finals during a loaded group this past weekend.
Thomas also re-affirmed his commitment to the in-state Tigers. The Baton Rouge native shut down his recruitment in January and has assumed the role of lead recruiter for LSU. He is expected to enroll early.

Mr. Handy, we will have only FIVE returning DL on scholarship in 2019. I guarantee you that Auburn and LSU won't have 5 or fewer DL on scholarship, so if you want early playing time, come here.

Did LSU ever offer Kimbrough?

Christian Barmore tweeted this. I hope it means that he is eligible.
If he made the grades, then this is huge news

Just looked at Nolan Smith opening highlights from last year and I hope UGA gets negative recruited to the point he doesn't want to go. He going to be a monster.

That guy doesn't actually look like a 7SU fan. Most of them seem to either look like they have just come off an all-night bender (and a very large percentage of them have) or belonged on the cast of "Animal House" (or both). When I watch that movie, I constantly see "7SU fans".
