New insider, validated as legit by several top insiders, saying he's well-connected, knows his stuff and knew what was up with Dax Hill. He's confident we'll get Sanders, Neal and Dean. He's optimistic on Thibs and confident on Sopsher, but a bit cautiously on those two. As of today.

Edit: Added Sopsher info above.

Dylan Moses is a smart kid too. I think Dylan did well considering he was a true freshman under Pruitt calling plays at the tail end of last season. I actually think Tosh and Golding set Dylan and Mack's development back a bit. And, I guess I should expect that since Pruitt is one of the best in the business as a DC.

Think Mack will shine like Reuben did. The light will come on and it will be downhill from there. Reuben was lost till his Senior year too.

Bill Oliver was another coach who won titles as player and coach. I am sure there were other coaches on Coach Bryant's teams who did the same. Dude Hennessy??
Danny Ford was,one. Gary Rutledge?

I have a hard time blaming them when Moses and Mac really are super inexperienced for starters compared to almost any other ILB pair we have had. It was just a mix of things that came together to lead to a poor year from them compared to expectations.

I absolutely can.

You can, but that doesn't mean you would be right. McClain did a great job calling plays as a freshman. I can't say 100% that he would do it with ease and you can't say that he would freeze up. It's all speculation at this point, so it's unfair, for the player, to speak in certainties

The only knock that I have on Moses, and it's really not a knock, is that I believe he is just a genuinely nice person. I think that sometimes he takes it easy on people unless he's playing LSU and he is a maniac

You are wishing for a true freshman to be our signal caller to supplant our two now veteran ILB's who will be top 64 picks. That is unfair to the players.

I'm just saying there is a chance. You're trying to pass your speculation off as absolute certainty and you don't know any more an I do

How about NC winning HEAD coaches, with a NC ring as a player? (What I was thinking about with the first post.)

THE BEAR, and a couple of "the Junction City boys". Via Stalings, Dabo is from that tree. Bud Wilkinson has been mentioned.

At least we're helping Saint's post count.

What do you think about Dax Hill?

My opinion, is that if we hang on to him, he'll get a good amount of playing time. He has all of the measurables, the only thing that might somewhat hold him back is the level of competition in Oklahoma.

Jimmy Johnson. He had one as a player and coach and threw some super bowl wins in there to top it off One of the best coaches of all time

Dax looks like the next Deionte to me... by which I mean a guy with no position for like 2 years and then becomes a top 20 pick quality safety because he has unbelievable range and athleticism.

LINK ]Four-star DT recaps Utah official visit (247Sports | embedded video)

quote:

LINK ]Siaki Ika has traveled quite a bit this year for all his recruiting visits but didn't have to go very far for his latest stop ahead of the early signing period.

The four-star defensive tackle from Salt Lake City East made a local stop at Utah for a weekend official visit and told 247Sports he had a great time on campus with other top in-state prospects for the Utes' biggest recruiting event of the season.

"It was a lot of fun and it was nice to get away from home without having to get away from home," Ika said. "It was good to spend time with some of the dudes up there and really get a feel for the program. I got their take on how it is to play ball up there, so I had a lot of fun. I had a lot of questions and my family had a lot of questions, too, and they had all the answers.

"It was a great weekend to spend time with other top players. A lot of those dudes I know already, like Chase Roberts, Lolani (Langi) and Puka (Nacua). I know those dudes and the thought of being able to play with them was killer, especially those defensive guys from Bingham like Lolani, Simote (Pepa) and Junior (Tafuna).

"I also heard a big emphasis from the coaches on being a hometown hero. I sat down with coach Lewis Powell and coach Kyle Whittingham, and they made it known that if I went to Utah I'd be the most decorated lineman that ever went there as far as the stars and all the offers and the All-American stuff. They'd be looking for me to go in and make an instant impact, regardless of how deep they are at my position."

One of the top un-committed prospects in the country, the massive defensive tackle has taken official visits to USC (Jun. 22), LSU (Oct. 13) and Oregon (Nov. 3). He's looking to visit Alabama this coming weekend but said he is not sure on the specifics yet. The Crimson Tide hold all 15 votes in the Crystal Ball predictions, but the other suitors have been generating momentum in recent weeks.

"I'm in a wait-and-see stage right now," Ika said. "USC is supposed to come in Tuesday evening with head coach Clay Helton. On Thursday it's supposed to be Oregon, LSU and Utah. Coach Mario Cristobal and coach Kyle Whittingham are coming over that day."

Ika, the nation’s No. 159 overall prospect and No. 11-rated defensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, is strong and powerful at the point of attack, demands double-teams and has the potential to make an early impact at the next level given his size and relentlessness.

He was committed to BYU for over a year before backing off that pledge last February and plans announce his commitment and sign with his school of choice on Dec. 19.

Ika is scheduled to play in both the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Jan. 5 and the Polynesian Bowl on Jan. 19 in Hawaii.

Dude if Mac goes pro he will have a tough time making a team imo. If he stays he will still start. Saban wont sit a guy like him unless he absolutely does nothing.
