Under Armour All-America Game: Stock Up, Stock Down

quote:

STOCK UP

- Cedar Hill (Tex.) Trinity Christian School running back Maurice Washington came into the week as one of the least known recruits in attendance. He left as the MVP of the game after scoring three touchdowns. Even before the game, Washington found himself among 247Sports' top performers during the week's practice reports. He shows elusiveness and excellent skills in the passing game, which he showed in the game by catching a touchdown on a wheel route. He is versatile and ran tough in the game as well. Washington will visit Nebraska next weekend and Tennessee offered during the week.

- Florida commit Trey Dean came into the week already ranked a four-star by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Even still, he made enough of an impression for him to be considered a prospect who helped himself this week. Dean was one of the more physical defensive backs during the week of practice and never shied away from taking on the top receivers. Listed as a safety, he played cornerback at times and showed his man-to-man skills.

- For a linebacker to stand out during practices can be difficult, but Cordele (Ga.) Crisp County's Quay Walker demonstrated his ability to play in space and cover, and this is after exhibiting pass rush ability as a senior. All these skills in a 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame makes Walker a prospect with high upside. An Alabama commit, Georgia and Florida are both set to receive official visits from him in January.

- Santa Ana (Calif.) offensive lineman Tommy Brown was consistently good in practice all week. He started the week strong, making our top five for Monday's practice. Brown has the 6-foot-6 frame to play offensive tackle, but could also project to guard at Alabama.

Stock Down:

- Missouri City (Tex.) Ridge Point tight end Mustapha Muhammad, a Michigan commit, had a quiet week. He had some drops in practice and did not make the impact as a pass catcher that we were expecting.

- Florida quarterback commit Emory Jones was inconsistent during the week. He has a big arm, but still needs to work on mechanics and footwork.

- Lancaster (Calif.) Antelope Valley's Devon Williams is a big receiver and was solid on gameday, but had some drops as well as difficulty against more physical defenders during the week of practice. He is still uncommitted, but his 247Sports Crystal Ball reads 100-percent for Oregon.

I'm glad he signed with Florida.

So are we looking at Anoma coming in and being a part of the defensive gameplan from the word go or could he be in line for garbage time/redshirt? At the very least I think we could utilize him as a rusher while he develops the rest of his game.

Looks to me he should have some role if nothing more than 3rd down rusher. Cochran got to get good weight on him

From Hank South:

He's still expected, at least right now, to take all of the visits he had planned -- LSU on Jan. 19, Bama on Jan. 26, and Auburn on Feb. 2

If 33 and 24 are playing like they did vs Clemson I don't see him beating them out on pass rushing situations but who knows.
