ORLANDO, Fla. — Several of Alabama’s commits, signees and top targets began practice in Orlando on Sunday for the Under Armour All-America Game, which kicks off on Thursday.
Here is what we learned on Day 2 from the majority of players Alabama is interested in at the game:

Justin Watkins, a 4-star wide receiver from East Ridge High School (Clermont, Fla.), is down to Alabama and LSU. He’ll make his commitment live on ESPN2. After talking with some people, I think Watkins prefers Alabama, but I don’t know if there’s going to be space for him to commit when he makes his decision on Thursday. Watkins, along with Justyn Ross, Jacob Copeland and Jaylen Waddle, is a top wide receiver target for the Tide. Bama has signees at the position from Xavier Williams and Slade Bolden, who was recruited as an athlete. The Tide would like to add one or two more receivers in this class. Watkins was one of the standouts from practice on Sunday. It didn’t matter who he was up against in the slot, he was finding a way to get open.

Xavier Williams seemed to quiet some doubters of his game on Sunday. Williams looked very smooth in his routes and caught at least 2 touchdowns, one of which was the play of the day in my opinion, during the scrimmage.

Jordan Davis, a 4-star Jack linebacker from Memphis who signed with Alabama during the early signing period, had a very good day on Sunday. Alabama is recruiting him as a Jack linebacker, but he was strictly playing defensive end in practice.

Eyabi Anoma, a 5-star Jack linebacker who signed with Alabama, is incredibly athletic. There was one rep where he put a perfect spin move on an offensive lineman to win his rep. It’s incredible to think that Anoma has only been playing football for two years and he’s rated as one of the nation’s top 10 players. His ceiling is incredible.

Quay Walker, a 4-star Alabama linebacker commit, declined interviews for the second day in a row as Auburn, Florida and Georgia are trying to change his mind on the Tide. From all I’ve heard in Orlando, I’m having a hard time projecting him to end up in the Tide’s class when National Signing Day rolls around. Alabama is doing what it can to keep him in this class, as the staff believes he has the ability to play any linebacker spot in the Tide’s 3-4 defense. He’s that good.

Trying to confirm, it’s likely he could be talking about one of the pro games being played as well. Nothing has come out on this that I could tell except for the twitter thing.

We are good, like I said he was referring to something else. James Harden.

Looks like he aggravated it, not a pull. Maybe doing yoga in the hotel lol

Aggravated, will play.

Can I just take a moment and say frick the Washington Redskins?
I was one of 7 survivors in the NFL Survivor Pool here on TD and picked those bastards to beat the 2 win Giants today.
And they lost.

Eyabi Anoma
I watched this kid play the other night, and I'm tellen y'all this kid is a dog. A savage dog. I saw him rip a teammate for missing a tackle Ro McClain style.
With Reuben foster, Jon Allen, Tim w, Tomlinson, eddie j, and Ryan Anderson all gone the defense has been lacking some dogs. Bama still plenty talented, but missing those savages on d.
Anoma will lead the pack one day book it !

NEXT FIVE ON DEFENSE
1. CB Anthony Lytton: The Florida State signee was excellent in coverage on Saturday. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect stayed attached to his receivers, and recorded a couple of pass break ups. The Upper Marlboro (Md.) Dr. Henry Wise product’s highlight play was when he jumped up to knock down a fade near the goal line.
2. DE Brenton Cox: The Georgia signee has packed on weight to his 6-foot-4 frame and add more power to his repertoire of moves. The Stockbridge (Ga.) product still used quickness to beat tackles as well, but now Cox can also bully blockers with his strength.
3. DB Trey Dean: 247Sports lists the Florida signee as a safety, but Dean looked impressive as a cornerback on Sunday. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect brings excellent length to the position and was fluid enough to shadow receivers. Dean was another that came up with multiple pass breakups.
4. DE Eyabi Anoma: The Alabama signee looked to be most explosive edge rusher in Orlando this week. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect is extremely athletic and once used a beautiful spin move to dance past an offensive tackle in one-on-one drills.
5. DE Jordan Davis: The Alabama signee was solid during one-on-one drills, but really started to come on late in Sunday’s scrimmage. The Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind recorded a sack and forced a fumble on back to back plays.

TOP FIVE ON OFFENSE
1. WR Justin Watkins: The Clermont (Fla.) East Ridge product was electric during one-on-one and seven-on-seven portion of practice. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound slot receiver was quick coming out of his breaks which allowed him to constantly shake free from defenders for catch after catch.
2. WR Xavier Williams: The Alabama signee was another that constantly got open during Saturday’s practice. The Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna product caught three touchdowns during the scrimmage portion of practice, all on corner routes. Williams was able to get open other times, but inaccurate throws kept him from hauling in more passes.
3. WR Alontae Taylor: The Tennessee signee was very productive working the underneath routes during one-on-one and seven-on-seven action. The 6-foot, 185-pound Manchester (Tenn.) Coffee County Central product is still somewhat raw as a route runner, but his quickness allowed him to still shake the coverage.
4. WR Justin Shorter: The Penn State signee used his 6-foot-4, 215-pound frame to rip a couple contested footballs away from defenders. The Monmouth Junction (N.J.) South Brunswick product’s play of the day came when he caught a simple hitch, shook free from the cornerback and sprinted in for a touchdown.
5. RB Brian Snead: The Ohio State signee was productive running the ball during inside run and the scrimmage portion of practice. Standing 5-foot-11, 200-pounds, Snead looks physically ready to handle the pounding a running back will take on the college level. The Seffner (Fla.) Armwood product looked to be the best overall back during the first practice.

Other Notes…
— Alabama linebacker commit Quay Walker mainly lined up as an inside backer on Saturday, but it’s clear he has the versatility to play a multitude of positions. At times, Walker was lined up against the slot receiver. On the recruiting front, Walker continues to turn down interview requests as Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and others look to flip the Crimson Tide pledge.
— Miami TE signee Brevin Jordan was productive during seven-on-seven and the scrimmage portion of the day. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound prospect’s quickness is often too much for linebackers to handle.
— Nicholas Petit-Frere is the best athlete of the group of offensive line in this game. However, the five-star recruit needs to continue to improve his technique and become more consistent. The upside for the Tampa, Fla. native is through the roof though.
—Maryland offensive tackle signnee Jaelyn Duncan really excelled with running blocking. The 6-foot-6, 300-pound bulldozer pushed people out of the way. His pass protection is still a work in progress, but he still had his moments there as well.

Three-Point Stance: Thoughts from the UA All-America Game
quote:
Justyn Ross
Everyone loves wide receivers that look like small forwards in basketball, and that’s what Ross looks like. His athleticism is obvious when watching him go through drills.

Nicholas Petit-Frere
I like offensive tackles with length and a frame that can be filled out in college, and Petit-Frere fits the bill.

Stephon Wynn
There were a lot of good-looking defensive ends out there, but Wynn brings the mass to the position you like and could end up inside eventually with his pass-rushing skills.
