There hasn't been a run of CBs for ITS since his tweet this afternoon. I'm going to say he picks USC.

Josh Jobe flipped his commitment from Miami to Alabama during his official visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend. It wasn’t a surprise to see Jobe ultimately choose the Crimson Tide. This was headed that way for several months.

Here’s all you need to know about Jobe:

247Sports composite ranking: No. 13 cornerback, No. 1 prospect in Connecticut, No. 95 overall

Hometown: Miami

School: Cheshire Academy

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 180 pounds

Offers: 16, including Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Miami, LSU and Michigan

Commitment: Dec. 16, 2017

Early enrollee: No

Where he fits at Alabama: Alabama’s secondary is going to be thin next year with the Tide losing starting cornerbacks Anthony Averett and Levi Wallace to graduation. Tony Brown and Hootie Jones will be gone, too. Not to mention Ronnie Harrison and Minkah Fitzpatrick are likely candidates to declare for the NFL draft. Next year’s secondary will look different. The Tide didn’t sign any true corners in the 2017 class, and Jobe will certainly have a chance to make an immediate impact because of his length, 4.5-second speed in the 40-yard dash and cover skills.

There was a lot of uncertainty as to whether Alabama would have a chance to sign Jalyn Armour-Davis when he ultimately put pen to paper. When he released his list of top schools at the start of the year, Alabama didn’t make the cut.

When that happened, former Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley went into attack mode. They made sure Armour-Davis knew he was a priority, and soon enough, the Tide were back into contention and got him to commit.

Armour-Davis wasn’t planning to sign early. The plan was to take other official visits in January, but that’s no longer the case. He changed his mind last week.

Here’s all you need to know about Armour-Davis:

247Sports composite ranking: No. 15 cornerback, No. 2 prospect in Alabama, No. 122 overall

Hometown: Mobile, Ala.

School: St. Paul’s Episcopal

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 180 pounds

Offers: 12, including Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Southern California

Commitment: June 23, 2017

Early enrollee: No

Where he fits at Alabama: Jalyn Armour-Davis has the ability to play cornerback or safety. He played his high school football at one of the best programs in the state of Alabama, so the transition from high school to college should be seamless for Armour-Davis. With how thin the secondary will be next season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on the field as a freshman.

Skyler Delong flipped his commitment from Tennessee to Alabama after receiving an offer from the Crimson Tide during the team’s special teams camp. Delong had been committed to the Volunteers for just a short amount of time before deciding Alabama was the better fit.

Expect Delong to make an immediate impact for Alabama.

Here’s all you need to know about Delong:

247Sports composite ranking: No. 2 punter, No. 28 prospect in South Carolina, No. 1,499 overall

Hometown: Fort Mill, S.C.

School: Nation Ford

Height: 6-foot-4

Weight: 180 pounds

Offers: 5, including Army, Clemson, Rutgers and Tennessee

Commitment: June 15, 2017

Early enrollee: Yes

Where he fits at Alabama: With JK Scott’s Alabama career coming to an end at the conclusion of this season, the Tide needed to find his replacement. Delong visited Tuscaloosa this summer for the team’s special teams camp and left with an offer. Delong was the only punter to receive an offer. He had committed to Tennessee a few weeks prior but ultimately decided Alabama was a better fit. It’s almost a guarantee that Delong will be the team’s starting punter next season.

Slade Bolden was one of Alabama’s summer camp standouts. The Crimson Tide place a lot of emphasis on how recruits perform in their camp settings. Lots of times recruits gain or lose committable offers when they compete in Alabama’s camp.

Bolden was a player who worked his way to a committable offer during the summer.

Here’s all you need to know about Bolden:

247Sports composite ranking: No. 11 all-purpose running back, No. 17 prospect in Louisiana, No. 480 overall

Hometown: West Monroe, La.

School: West Monroe

Height: 5-foot-11

Weight: 198 pounds

Offers: 24, including Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Washington

Commitment: Aug. 3, 2017

Early enrollee: Yes

Where he fits at Alabama: Bolden has been recruited by Alabama as an athlete, but he’ll likely end up playing slot receiver for Alabama. Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll told Bolden and his mother that the recruit reminded him some of New England Patriots slot receiver Julian Edelman. Bolden’s coach at West Monroe, Jerry Arledge, told SEC Country that Alabama is getting a special player. “I can say that he’s as good of an athlete as we’ve had come through here in the 26 years I’ve been here,” Arledge said.

At West Monroe, he’s played quarterback, running back, wide receiver, cornerback, safety and special teams.

“He’s whatever you want him to be with his versatility,” Arledge said. “If you need a cornerback, he can play there. A safety, wide receiver, tailback — he could play them all at a high level. He doesn’t have great sprinter speed, but he has quickness, escapability. Those intangibles make you a football player and separates guys with talent.”

Jordan Davis signing with Alabama on Wednesday

Every school hopes it gets a commitment like Jordan Davis.

Davis is somewhat of an anomaly these days. The word commitment rarely means that anymore. Commitment, in recruiting, has turned into a reservation that can change at any point.

That hasn’t been the case with the Under Armour All-America linebacker.

Davis, a 4-star prospect from Southwind High School (Memphis, Tenn.), committed to Alabama more than a year ago, and he hasn’t wavered once.

“It’s Roll Tide all the way,” Davis told SEC Country on our recruiting show. “I’ve been committed to Alabama for a really long time now. People always ask me, ‘How do you do it? How do you keep your commitment for so long?’ That’s just staying loyal to the dynasty. I want to build my own legacy and build my own brand. I’m ready to get this Signing Day over with and get to work.”

The nation’s No. 5 weakside defensive end (per 247Sports), who is being recruited as a Jack linebacker by Alabama, will sign this Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET. Several schools were trying to make Davis delay his decision and make other visits, most notably Tennessee. Davis mentioned LSU, Mississippi State and Oregon as other schools who were trying to get him to change his mind on Alabama.

Tennessee was the only school, other than Alabama, that Davis visited this past year. He visited once. Now that former Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is there, the new Vols coach was trying to convince Davis to visit.

That’s what led to Davis tweeting last week that he was done with recruiting:

“Just talking it over with my friends and family, everybody kept on asking me if I was going to visit other places,” Davis said. “I wanted to get it out there and confirm that I was solid with Bama. Just saying that I was committed wasn’t getting through to people’s heads. That’s why I had to lay it out on the line and say it’s over with. I want to go to Alabama and finish my whole four years at Alabama.”

Normally when there’s a big coaching change, recruits tend to look around. Davis didn’t do that. His main relationships at Alabama are with outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi, who he has described as a second father, and tight ends coach Joe Pannunzio, who Davis described as a great friend, mentor and coach to him.

While he did communicate with Pruitt too, he mainly communicated with the two coaches mentioned above.

“With Coach Pruitt leaving, he’s a really good coach,” Davis said. “He spoke a lot of life into me, my mom and little brother. And one thing I want to tell all these recruits is you don’t go to a school because of the coaches; you go there for the program. That’s the reason why I committed to the school because I love the program.”

Top target likely not committing this week

Penei Sewell, a 4-star offensive tackle from Desert Hills High School (Saint George, Utah), was expected to make his decision on Wednesday. But his father told SEC Country that he’s unsure if his son will make his decision during the early signing period.

Sewell is not an early enrollee, so he doesn’t have to make his decision by the end of the week. He’ll enroll at the school of his choice in the summer.

Alabama and Oregon remain the two biggest contenders for Sewell. I still believe the Tide will sign either 5-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere or Sewell. I’m leaning toward Petit-Frere. Sewell is very close with Mario Cristobal. It helps the Ducks that he’s their new coach.

Sweet Baby Jesus let him be right.
