What is so hard to grasp that it is still October and there is another 3 key months until the last signing day?
You know what just jump of the ledge.
That's fine. Still a valid statement that up to this point it is an off year. I promise no one is insulting you personally by saying that. It is is factually true.
And good news on the pick up with Ekiyor.

Well, there's the top interior OL in the country (considered by staff).

Not only is this class coming in slow, not a lot of top players have Bama as their favorite.
There is plenty of reason to be concerned right now.

Also, dline is one of the areas we desperately need to get some quantity, but it’s been an uphill battle even in-state.

Bama is being selective, they could easily slop together a top 10 class if they decided to take every Tom, Dick, or Harry that wanted to come to Bama.
Smaller class means less risks on project types.

Many "top" players don't give outright favorites, it's long been apart of the recruiting game. You can't grab attention of sites if they know where you are going.
Just picked up a potential freshman caliber starter at Center and we're still seeing this garbage...

Rarely does Alabama have an immediate need on the recruiting trail but they addressed the one they have at center in a big way on Sunday in flipping Top247 recruit Emil Ekiyor from Michigan.
247Sports ranks the Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral recruit as the No. 2 center in the country.
The 6-foot-2 1/2, 322-pound Ekiyor is a wide-bodied road-grader, with a tremendously thick lower body, humungous calves and thighs. He has a very powerful base that can anchor down and hold the pocket in the SEC.
What continues to make Ekiyor unique is that he’s also athletic. He was a varsity basketball player as a freshman with the stones to make clutch shots late in games, Ekiyor has some of the best feet at the position in the country, he’s smooth when pulling or flowing to the second level and getting a hat on linebackers. The four-star recruit has the balance and quickness to mirror defensive linemen and linebackers and he has no problem drive blocking and eliminating his man from the play.
Ekiyor also has heavy hands, regularly de-cleating defenders when he uses them to strike.
Ekiyor is a four-year starter for one of the Midwest’s best programs. He played offensive tackle as a freshman in helping his team win a state championship.
Cathedral plays arguably the toughest schedule in the Midwest every year, and Ekiyor will arrive in Tuscaloosa as seasoned as a player you can be from a competition standpoint from the prep level. They take on the best teams from Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky every year and Ekiyor has met all challenges dating back to his ninth grade year.
Moving to center as a senior, Ekiyor has made it a seamless transition. He’s comfortable snapping the football when the quarterback is under center and in the gun.
It was an impressive year on the camp circuit for Ekiyor who at The Opening Finals he went toe to toe with the best defensive tackles in the country. He also flashed a mean streak out in Oregon as he battled the likes of Taron Vincent and company. Nick Saban and company liked what they saw when they had him in camp in Tuscaloosa with Saban personally inviting Ekiyor into his office to chat after a strong performance.
Ekiyor also posted one of the country’s best Nike Football Ratings on the offensive line with a score of 101.97 (anything over 100 is terrific for offensive linemen) including a power ball toss of 50-feet which ranked second nationally, just one inch behind Auburn defensive tackle commit Coynis Miller. Anotherwards, Ekiyor’s combination of explosion and power are elite compared to his peers in this class.
Ekiyor’s father was a terrific pass rusher for the University of Central Florida back in the 1990s so he comes from good pedigree.
Ranking by the 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 105 prospect overall, Ekiyor will arrive at Alabama to an open competition at the center position with red-shirt senior Bradley Bozeman exhausting his eligibility at season’s end. That was one of the many reasons why he flipped on his year-long verbal to the Wolverines.
Ekiyor is a U.S. Army All-American.

Just some perspective on our class ranking thus far:
We are ranked ahead of LSixU.
With 6 less commits.

Oh shite, we're up to #16 in the Composite Class Rankings
But we've only got 12 recruits, Pawwwl.

I must be the only guy here who is GLAD that we have a low number of commits.
I mean, I guess it would be different if we had 20 guys committed that were all elite. But not even Bama has it that well most of the time in October.
I'm glad we have spots open that we can maneuver a little bit more as we get close to Signing Day.

Sounds like Jacob Copeland is about to flip as well. This class will come together nicely.

As long as this season doesn't mark the start of UGA out recruiting Alabama. Or anyone in the SEC for that matter.
