Is that a German Shepherd or a Belgian Malinois?

My mom has a mastiff and that fricker is huge. I had to walk him when she had a car accident and he saw another dog and drug my arse for about 50 yards. Luckily his big arse tired out quickly.

I'm 6'3 and around 220-225 and my old Cane Corso flipped my arse one day on a leash. I hung on but damn, I thought he ripped my shoulder out at first. I had grass in my hair and grass stains on my shirt. I wanted to kill the bastard

Look them up on YouTube. I think they are nuts. When they attack they go for peoples head and neck. They try to jump right over those arm pad things and grab necks

Malinois.
We had Shepherds growing up and they all ended up with hip dysplasia.
Malinois don't get it due to their straight back whereas the Shepherds have sloped backs.

Hell, those Miniature Bull Terriers run $1500 too.

I always heard bull terriers were great dogs. Dog prices are getting out of hand.
If you want a straight back German Shepherd, look up Shiloh Shepherds. They are a little larger that your typical German Shepherd but have a straight back

Here is a little bit of a comparison between Shiloh Shepherds and German Shepherd. I'll try to find a better pic

Yep. Craigslist has become a great place to find dogs and pups for a reasonable price. I just found my daughter a 7 week old Chihuahua for 40 bucks. My dad found a 8 week old dogo argentino for 200 bucks.

The shelter is better than everywhere listed.

My local shelter had a limited selection of what I was looking for. It was 150 bucks for adoption and they only had 1 small breed dog available and it was a rat terrier mixed with a wiener dog. It was the first place I looked.

Absolutely. My next dog or cat will be one that has been rescued. Never been interested in pure breeds or whatever.

Shelters are great, but I have one issue with getting a dog from there.
First off, let me just say one of my two dogs is a shelter dog and she is perfect. Great with kids, protective of them, etc. Basically anything you could ever want in a dog. However, she is a mutt. A beautiful one. But a mutt.
We had no desire to breed her so the shelters policy of 100% spay and neuter didn't matter.
My issue is with the 100% policy. If they have a dog I want to take home that could potentially have puppies I would want I would prefer to make the decision on my own to have the dog spayed or neutered.
I know these policies are put in place because a lot of people are pieces of shite who would abandon a pregnant dog, therefore perpetuating the cycle all over again, but there are some of us (multiple in this thread) who aren't massive degenerates.
And I'm not talking breeding for the sake of making money either. Just having puppies to continue to have great pets in my own house.
I've had three dogs give birth that I have owned and I didn't sell one puppy. Sure I gave some away to family and friends, but I gave them to responsible adults who I knew would take care of them.
Case in point where we got a Catahoula/German Shepherd mix who was an absolutely gorgeous dog. The shelter would not let us have him unless they neutered him. I hate that I couldn't have had some more of his puppies. He was awesome.
