I think we've offered, even if not reported. Or if we haven't officially, I feel confident in saying that we will. Just talked to one of the guys that I mention a lot in-person. Keep a close eye on Curry going forward.
I also think that the report on Jarren Williams is erroneous. May still happen at some point, but I don't believe he's a private. I do think, though, that he's #1 on the board ahead of Emory Jones.

YStar confirmed it. He has a personal connection to him. Delete that part.
I agree that he should be ahead of Jones. I'm not a fan of Jones at all. My Ohio State buddy isn't a fan either.
We might, but you know just as well as I do that kids covet an Alabama offer and post it on Twitter as soon as they get it. Curry hasn't done that yet and 247 doesn't list the offer on his profile page either.

Well, that's good then about Williams. I'm glad to hear it!
Agreed on Emory.
I do know that Burns really likes Curry a lot. And also is looking some at Jacob Brumfield (or something like that... haven't looked the name up) from Louisiana.
I think the RB pecking order is Zamir, Asa, Curry, maybe Brumfield, and then
Listed down the page for a reason.....
Joiner.

Why is jarred Williams ahead of emory Jones?
Posted on 10/10/17 at 7:54 pm to seanpendleton10
He's the better player.

I think they are both probably equal. Need at least one for some depth.

I ask because emory is way ahead in the rankings not that it means he is a better player but more often than not a big gap like that means he is a better high school player

Jones has fallen in every update this year.
It's your classic case of recruiting services not wanting to admit they were wrong.
I watched Jones play against Saraland on ESPN and he was nothing special. I don't think he even had 100 total yards of offense.

Jones is a really good athlete with a cannon for an arm, but has huge accuracy issues. Star Jackson thinks Jones is raw.
Williams is at least as good of an athlete. Not as huge of an arm, but a lot more accurate.

Don’t ban me Salsa, but I think Williams should come in and start next year.

I wouldn't complain if Bama got either.
For the QB depth situation Bama has, I still kinda like Jones more. I think Bama can afford to take a super raw guy with a bigger upside. You either end up pleasantly surprised with his development, or he's depth/transfer fodder.
Not to say Williams doesn't have upside, I just think his floor is more valuable than his ceiling...

That's my concern with Jones. He's so raw that he'll take forever to develop and will get frustrated and transfer like Torrance Gibson at Ohio State.
I think Williams would see the field sooner and would be less apt to transfer because of it.
I guess as long as we take 2 next year, assuming it's Tyson and Lil Tua, we could afford to take the risk on Jones.
His accuracy is so bad though. Can that be coached up is the million dollar question.

Honestly, I was shocked at how well Williams ran. I've not seen many QB recruits (even dual threat ones) run like that in a while. He's a very gifted runner. Never know for sure in HS film, but he looks like he's a legit laser timed 4.5 guy out there (or let's say a stopwatch 4.4 guys). He plays at another speed from the other guys. And that is pretty big boy football in Gwinnett, Georgia.

I think if Williams had a stronger arm he'd definitely be a Top 100 guy.
His arm is average, but like I said the other day accuracy trumps velocity for me 10 out of 10 times.
I mean, we have a QB right now with a cannon for an arm and aren't asking him to make those deep out throws so a kid with questionable arm strength wouldn't be at a disadvantage in this offense.
One other thing that has me on the Williams bandwagon is Ohio State is reaching out to him behind the scenes (per my Ohio State buddy) because Urban and Co. aren't sold on Jones anymore. If they think Williams is better than their own commit that's pretty telling IMO.
Now, having said that, they may be contacting Williams due to Jones not being as solid as they hoped, but my friend is saying it's performance related per their "insider."

He's a 4.5 guy. He has also been working with the QB guru guy while he speed trains with his cousin.
Kid supposedly threw 7 TDs last week.
Also his measurements are incorrect according to his cousin. He is 6'4 now not 6'2.
Definite sleeper

I've watched a few of his Senior game highlights and he has looked really good.
