I have a feeling that we may end up with a loaded DB class. It seems some guys that may have been locks like N Joseph and S Smith are not now but moreso due to others that may be ahead of them with LSU and other programs struggling.

But then again maybe I am to optimistic for this board as I keep reading we are doing horrible on the recruiting trail this year.

Kelvin Joseph named a Top 3 of Alabama, LSU and Florida State after visiting Tallahassee on Saturday.

He did not put them in order.

Honestly? Right now the only one I am confident on is Jalyn Armour-Davis.

But, if I had to take a slightly educated guess I would say this group:

JA-D
Tyson Campbell
Nadab Joseph
Saivion Smith (I really don't want him though)
Kelvin Joseph

I thought Tyson Campbell was a BAMA lean and many insiders predicted him in our class? Im confused now... Its true, me may not get any 5 stars this year

Well this is interesting:

quote:

Alabama put an offer on the table for 2018 defensive tackle Christian Barmore, the Philadelphia (Pa.) Neumann Goretti product announced on Twitter Tuesday morning.

The fast-rising defensive lineman recently decommitted from Temple after a string a major offers that included Florida, Georgia, and Oregon.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Barmore is ranked as a two-star prospect having flown relatively under the radar on the recruiting scene until now.

The Tide currently has one defensive lineman committed in IMG Academy product Stephon Wynn. Expect Alabama to take at least two to three more before all is said and done. A couple other UA defensive tackle targets are nearing decisions -- Coynis Miller (Oct. 14) and Bobby Brown (Nov. 2).

Christian Barmore Highlights

Direct Link to Senior Film

I haven't watched his tape yet, but this is kind of late in the season to be finding new targets. The pessimist in me thinks we offered due to not feeling good on other prospects, but the optimist feels he must be special.

ETA: So, uh, I'm a minute into the film and he's a fricking beast.

ETAA: He tackles two people at the 2:05 mark.

ETAAA: He gets double teamed by two OL and still makes the tackle on a shovel pass at 3:20. This kid can play.

Tim Watts put out an update yesterday on Brown and the Alabama staff still feels good about him.

Hank South said he isn't ready to flip his CB for Coynis Miller to Auburn just yet, but the more people he talks to he feels that is where Miller ends up.

LSU loses recruiting momentum in race for targets, plus more

quote:

Alabama remains a player for Kelvin Joseph, keep an eye on Clemson

Scotlandville defensive back Kelvin Joseph contemplated de-committing from LSU for over a year, before finally making the announcement on October 2. Joseph took an official visit to Florida State this weekend, and the Seminoles are a school he wanted to get a closer look at. The teams to watch, though, are Alabama and Clemson, who continues to lurk in the shadows. Everyone involved believes Joseph will end up at LSU, but Alabama had his ear for much of this recruiting cycle, and Clemson may have enough juice to sway him during an official visit, which is likely to transpire in November.

Ohio State quietly positioning itself for a run at Patrick Surtain Jr.?

South Florida cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. continues to be vocal about LSU's position atop his leader board, but there is reason to believe Ohio State could really challenge for his services. The Buckeyes are being mentioned in different circles, in different places, and there is a sense of concern regarding his recruitment in Baton Rouge. There is not enough here for me to think Ohio State is the more likely option at this point, but it certainly seems to be than just your run of the mill recruiting rumor.

Alabama has Kardell Thomas' eye

LSU received an early commitment from standout Southern Lab offensive lineman Kardell Thomas, but the Tigers staff will have to dig in deep to keep him home for his collegiate career. Thomas took in LSU's win over Florida in Gainesville this weekend, as he continues to engage the Florida staff, but it is Alabama that many believe will present the biggest challenge. He is expected to be in Tuscaloosa for a visit before the end of this season, according to a source, and the Crimson Tide have Thomas' full attention.
