Thompson scored 37 consecutive points to roll to a 51-21 win over visiting Pelham.
The Warriors (5-0), who amassed 442 yards of total offense, used a strong rushing attack to pull away in the second half. Shadrick Byrd and Joseph Ford scored two touchdowns each and combined for 280 rushing yards on the night.
Thompson's Taulia Tagovailoa threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns. The junior quarterback connected with Will Conner, Mo Edwards and Ahmad Edwards for first-half scores.
Pelham (3-3) rushed for 166 yards and got two touchdown runs from junior Brandon Sledge. The Panthers finished with 260 yards of total offense.
Star of the game: Byrd finished with 169 rushing yards on just 12 rushes. He had five rushes of more than 20 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown run to put the game away at the end of the third quarter.
Key sequence: After Thompson took a two-touchdown lead in the third quarter, Pelham drove down the field but faced a fourth down from Thompson's 33-yard line. Linebacker KJ Robertson got a sack, allowing the Warriors to take over on downs and put the game away.
Stat sheet: Thompson had 16 offensive plays of at least 10 yards... Pelham had eight of its 15 first downs in the first quarter... Pelham's Edward Gipsonscored on a 57-yard touchdown reception.
By the numbers: 3 -- This was Thompson's third consecutive win over Pelham... 2 -- Thompson only used two running backs on the night.
Coachspeak: "It's a huge win. Every win is big but especially a rivalry... It's not a region game but it's Pelham. There's a lot on the line." - Thompson head coach Mark Freeman
They said it …: "We've got men of character in that locker room. They'll respond." - Pelham head coach Tom Causey
"We have three region games coming up. It's put up or shut up time. We have to go have a good week of practice and keep getting better." - Coach Freeman
"We go pretty fast so we know we're going to tire the defenses down. We just have to do our parts as running backs." - Shadrick Byrd
Next week: Thompson looks to stay undefeated at Vestavia Hills. Pelham hosts Wetumpka.

That isn’t changing either after the Rebels (5-0) crossed the Lea Joyner Bridge with another Friday-night win.
Senior quarterback Slade Bolden ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns as West Monroe left Bill Ruple Stadium with a 27-7 win over Neville. The Alabama commit completed 16-of-21 passes for 129 yards.
A stout Rebel defense held the Tigers (2-3) to 28 total yards rushing.
Junior Cameron Wright ran through the teeth of the Neville defense and set up Bolden’s first rushing touchdown, a six-yarder, on West Monroe’s first offensive possession. Wright ran for game-high 127 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries.
Neville answered the Rebels on the ensuing drive with a 69-yard pitch and catch courtesy of junior quarterback Jordan Thomas to senior wide receiver Joseph Bouie.
While penalties hurt West Monroe throughout he first half, the Tigers set themselves back with two turnovers.
Wright topped 100 yards rushing in the first half and broke a 7-7 tie with a 27-yard visit to the end zone in the second quarter.
Turning point: Bolden bulled his way across the goal line on fourth down to give West Monroe a 21-7 lead at the half.
Sophomore Max Hunter returned the opening kick of the third quarter deep into Neville territory, but the Rebels were forced to settle for a 41-yard Carson Jones field goal.
Neville couldn’t take advantage of a pair of defensive stops and failed to pick up a first down in the second half until the final minutes of the third quarter.
It was over when: Jones added another three points to the West Monroe total with a 35-yard field goal at the midway point of the fourth quarter.
Thomas finished 12-of-27 for 143 yards and the lone touchdown. Senor Payton Batteford split snaps with Thomas and was 2-of-6 for 18 yards.
Welcome back: West Monroe head coach Jerry Arledge returned to the sideline for the first time this season after a four-game LHSAA suspension. Defensive coordinator Tony Osborne led the Rebels to a 4-0 start as interim coach.
Bent but not broken: While Neville allowed its highest point total of the year, the defense only allowed Bolden one big play on the ground. A 58-yard run in the fourth quarter that set up Jones’ second field goal accounted for the bulk of his 70 yards on the ground.
Back it up: Penalties continued to be a problem for West Monroe. The Rebels were flagged 10 times for 100 yards.
Runnin’ Rebs: Led by Wright, Bolden and Hunter, West Monroe’s offense topped out at 219 yards rushing.
National acclaim: The Neville-West Monroe game was featured as part of the 2017 Great “American Rivalry Series.” Neville’s Luke Cagle and West Monroe’s John Bailey Gullatt were honored as scholar athletes prior to kickoff.
Next week: Neville has next Friday night off with an open date. West Monroe begins the District 2-5A slate at home against longtime rival Ruston.

Nice. Tell him we're all excited to see him in Crimson.
Does he know about this board?
Posted on 9/30/17 at 11:36 am to TideSaint
Doubtful. We've told him to stay way from boards. With the way he's been talked about on the LSU recruiting board, I'm glade he doesn't read any.

I was at that Missouri game when he supplexed that mizzou RB. I've never laughed so hard at a game. It was a "wtf are you doing" laugh? But this old Missouri fan gave me the dirtiest look. I felt so bad.

It was a weird game. Idk if the coaches didn't want to risk him getting hurt with emotions running high or not. He honestly didn't have double digit carries last night. He only had 4 at the half, 2 TDs and that first down I posted.

Well I'd rather him not get injured too.
Look at Terrace Marshall and Justin Rogers. Poor kids aren't going to have a Senior season due to injuries.

BOL has Justyn Ross visiting Alabama, but the Auburn SEC Country mod had him visiting Auburn in an article yesterday.
I guess we'll see this afternoon where he decided to go.

Any chance you can get a report from Slade on how the official visit process went?
We know we'll get the generic stuff from the recruiting sites, but an inside perspective would be awesome.
Posted on 9/30/17 at 12:32 pm to TideSaint
I'll see what I can get. I told him to take pics with Waddle and Fields at least. I'm sure my aunt will take tons of pics.
Posted on 9/30/17 at 12:34 pm to JJ27
That's awesome.
Ask him to see how Coynis Miller is reacting on his visit too.

I wonder if we could funnel some money for Waddle and Fields through Slade. With Slade getting a nice middleman payday, of course.

Supposedly insider on Bol said Nadab Joseph has tried to commit to Bama but was told to wait... Fwiw
