I imagine we'd still have to miss on a few guys for it to happen, but he wants to commit soon so he may be off the board before we'd take him.

Alabama is now a key school in the recruitment of four-star Sacramento, Calif., receiver Isaah Crocker after his camp performance and offer on Monday.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Crocker is the nation's No. 185-ranked prospect in the 247Sports composite. He said he had plenty of confidence after competing at The Opening Finals in Beaverton, Ore., two weeks ago against top prospects nationally and it carried over.
"I just felt like I dominated and that's what (head) Coach (Nick) Saban and the receivers coach (Michael Locksley), and everybody was seeing that I was dominating and that's most likely why they offered."
He wanted to commit somewhere in September. His top six had Oregon, Oregon State, Nebraska, Utah, UCLA and USC.
That was before Alabama offered on Crocker's first trip east. He arrived in Tuscaloosa over the weekend and will leave Tuesday morning.
"I'm pushing my commitment back because of this," Crocker said. "I'm going to take an official. This is a ticket. This is a school I wanted to go to. I do want to take an official."
Crocker said he has officials planned for Oregon, Oregon State and Nebraska, and he would like to have his Alabama official visit be the first weekend in November when Alabama hosts LSU.
He was understandably jacked on Monday night when speaking about the offer.
"It went good," Crocker said. "Everything about it, you get the offer, it just explodes. It's a nice thing to hear, especially from Coach Saban, knowing that he's the best coach in history. He's a legend. Everything about that was mind-blowing."
Crocker said that when Saban offered him, he knew "right off the bat" that he was going to change his commitment date.
Soon, he hopes to get that official visit set in stone.
"Getting even closer to Coach Saban now, he said he wants to talk to my family," Crocker said. "Family comes first. It's not all about football. Football only lasts a certain amount of years, so it's about relationships. (The official visit) will fall between now and my commitment date."

** Crocker wasn't the only recruit on campus to receive an offer Monday. Several 2019 and 2020 prospects earned offers. So did some key 2018 recruits, including Reno, Nev., four-star linebacker Brandon Kaho, a BYU commit, Detroit four-star corner Kalon Gervin and Florida State defensive end Patrick Joyner, a three-star recruit from Homestead, Fla.
** Chandler, Ariz., quarterback Jacob Conover was one class of 2019 quarterback to earn an offer. Five-star 2019 running back Quavaris Crouch, the nation's No. 16 prospect in that class and from Charlotte, N.C., visited Tuscaloosa.
** Several Hewitt-Trussville prospects camped at Alabama. Key ones to watch include safety Myles Mason, 2019 quarterback Paul Tyson and 2020 receivers Dazalin Worsham and Malachi Moore.
** Austin running back Asa Martin, a four-star recruit, earned the Clemson offer he thought he would get last week.

Asa Martin talks recruitment with a month to go until commitment
Alabama has six capable running backs on its roster with Bo Scarbrough, Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, B.J. Emmons, Najee Harris and Brian Robinson. You could make the case that all six of them could be starters elsewhere.
Nonetheless, the Crimson Tide would still like to add one more running back to their stable. The name to know in the Class of 2018 is 247Sports 4-star prospect Asa Martin.
Martin, who attends Austin High School (Decatur, Ala.), is set to announce his commitment on Aug. 24. His three finalists are Alabama, Auburn and Florida. Clemson could work its way into the mix with the Tigers offering him a scholarship while on a visit Monday. But with little more than a month to go until his decision, it may be too late for those Tigers.
The nation’s No. 10 running back is set to visit Tuscaloosa, each of his three finalists one last time before making a decision.
“[This month and] next month is just about going to all the colleges I’m looking at and seeing if I could live there the next three or four years,” Martin told SEC Country. “It’s just about being comfortable with the coaching staff, as well as the school as a whole.”
Martin will visit Tuscaloosa this Friday for the team’s Champions Cookout. He’ll be one of many elite prospects on campus. Alabama offered Martin back in April, and things have progressed positively for the Tide.
Before the Alabama offer, Martin told SEC Country that he didn’t think the team’s offense was a good fit for his style of play. A few visits and a few conversations with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll changed his perspective.
“When you look at college football, they’re sending all their guys to the league, especially running backs,” Martin said. “When they offered me — plus it’s my home state — of course they became a major factor.”
Martin estimates that he’s been to Tuscaloosa around three or four times now, so he’s familiar with the campus. He also has a former teammate on the Crimson Tide in redshirt freshman offensive lineman Deonte Brown.
Is there anything Martin is trying to get out of his upcoming trip to Tuscaloosa?
“I’m just hoping with me being there I see if I can live and thrive in that environment,” Martin said. “Every college is different.”
The 6-foot, 195-pound prospect said there’s no pressure on him to stay in-state because he’s the one who ultimately has to live in that city for the next chapter of his life.
Alabama has been viewed as the favorite for Martin for the past few months, but he stresses that no school has an advantage over the next and he’s unsure of which school he’ll pick next month.
“I really don’t know,” Martin said. “It’s a tough decision. Me and my mom talk about it every night, and we’re still trying to figure it out.”

Brandon Kaho picks up an offer from Alabama
There are plenty of elite linebacker targets in the 2018 class who Alabama is pursuing. On Monday, one more was added to the list.
Brandon Kaho, a 4-star BYU commit from Reno (Nev.) High School, added an offer from the Crimson Tide while on a visit. Kaho has the versatility to play any linebacker spot in Alabama’s 3-4 defense, which makes him a coveted prospect, much like 4-star linebacker target JJ Peterson.
Usually, when prospects earn offers at camp it means it’s a committable one. There’s no reason to doubt that’s the case with Kaho’s offer. He’s done nothing but raise his stock in the last few weeks, including earning linebacker MVP honors at The Opening Finals.
Kaho has said in interviews that an offer from Alabama would affect his recruitment; however, he doesn’t appear to be in much of a rush to change his commitment from the Cougars. That’s because he’s planning on taking his LDS mission after high school, much like Alabama quarterback target Tanner Mckee.
The linebacker targets to know moving forward, outside of Kaho and Peterson, include Micah Parsons, KJ Henry, Andres Fox, Vernon Jackson and Eyabi Anoma. The Tide already have linebacker commitments from Jordan Davis and Quay Walker.

Other notes on camp participants:
- 4-star running back James Cook was expected to be in Tuscaloosa for camp but didn’t make it to town. Look for him to commit to Georgia at some point.
- Texas A&M quarterback commit Cade Fortin looked impressive in front of Daboll, according to a source who was in attendance. He does not hold an offer from Alabama, but don’t be surprised if one gets extended. With Alabama still looking for its quarterback in the 2018 class, Fortin is a name to watch.
- Ohio State quarterback commit Emory Jones WAS in Tuscaloosa, despite him denying his visit to SEC Country and Land of 10. I would assume he doesn’t want the Buckeyes staff to know about him visiting anywhere, but a source did, in fact, confirm that he threw for Daboll. This is Jones’ second visit to Alabama that I know of.

So Joseph Scates' coach says Alabama is his leader:
Does that sound like he has a committable offer to anyone else?

“It was more so that everyone was going to be on the same page,” Powell said of the message from Alabama. “If he wants to make the decision, it’s up to him. He’s really feeling it. His mother had a good time, too. It was her first time there. Things are looking up. I know he’s feeling Alabama and two or three other schools as well, but I think Alabama is his top choice right now.”

Asa Martin, state’s top RB, sets up final visit slate
Every college competing for Asa Martin likely has one more on-campus visit before he decides where he’ll play next year.
The top high school running back in Alabama has set an Aug. 24 decision date. Before he announces his decision, Martin plans to visit Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and Florida, which likely will be his last stops before his announcement.
Martin began Monday with his first trip to Clemson in hopes of picking up an offer from the Tigers. He got it, though Martin said at the end of last week that he doesn’t “just want to go out and say they’d enter my list because I don’t really know yet.”
So the emphasis should be placed on the three schools that have been there for months — Auburn, Alabama and Florida.
Martin will visit Alabama on Friday and Auburn on Saturday for each program’s summer cookout. Martin expects Florida will be his last visit.
“I’m just hoping me being there, can I live and thrive in this environment? Every college is different. Can I live and thrive here?” Martin said. “[It] is just about going to all the colleges I’m looking at and seeing if I could live there the next three or four years. It’s just about being comfortable with the coaching staff, as well as the school as a whole.”
Let’s leap into the Crystal Ball sphere to get a look into Martin’s upcoming choice.
Florida and Alabama each own 42 percent of the predictions. Auburn holds 17 percent. Every projection made since May 18 — the day Alabama OC Brian Daboll visited Martin — has favored the Crimson Tide. The general perception has been that since the Alabama offer, the Crimson Tide would land the No. 1 running back in the state yet again.
Martin claims he hasn’t reached that conclusion.
“I don’t. I really don’t. It’s a tough decision,” he said. “Me and my mom talk about it every night, and we’re still trying to figure it out. I don’t really know yet. If I knew that, I’d probably be already committed. I’m still trying to figure it out.”
His final visit to Auburn on Saturday will be an opportunity to spend more time with offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, who has become his primary point of contact in short order. The two talk on a daily basis and Martin raved about Lindsey’s “cool, laid-back” demeanor.
It’ll also be a chance for Martin’s mother to have one last experience on the Plains. Her opinion will have a major effect on Martin’s choice.
“Honestly, I have that at all three. They knew my mom is a big factor, so everybody is comfortable and always are talking to my mom. That’s a big thing,” he said.
Martin communicates with several other prospects on a regular basis to see what schools everyone is leaning toward. On the flip side, several committed players have done their part to try to recruit Martin.
Of all those suitors, one 2018 prospect stands out from the rest: Auburn quarterback commit Joey Gatewood.
“Joey, man. We were trying to get up to Auburn together, but he’s going to be up there at the beginning of the week. I talk to Joey the most, no doubt,” Martin said.

Big in-state defensive tackle on verge of decision
Coynis Miller’s recruiting process is nearing an end.
The 6-foot-2, 305-pound defensive tackle from Jackson-Olin (Ala.) told SEC Country last month that he planned on moving his commitment up to summer, instead of the end-of-season announcement he originally planned. Miller doubled down last week, saying that he’ll know where he wants to commit by next week.
He only has one thing left to see: Florida.
Miller plans to visit the Gators this weekend, which means he’ll be in Gainesville rather than Tuscaloosa or Auburn for those recruiting cookouts. This will be Miller’s first visit to Florida, so it would be somewhat surprising to see him choose the Gators over either in-state school. But Miller has talked about Florida for a while as a program that could score his commitment.
With that said, I just placed a Crystal Ball prediction for Miller to Auburn, which would be a major win for the Tigers over the Crimson Tide and the Gators.
Well damn. We might not land him after all.
ETA: I don't mean we'd lose him to Florida. It would be Auburn.

Max Williams might be undersized but he has a tremendous competitive spirit and he wanted to show it off this week at Alabama camp.
It landed him an offer from the Crimson Tide.
The 2019 four-star cornerback went to Tuscaloosa, worked out and seemed to hit it off with the coaching staff. Now Alabama is the newest offer on his list.
According to Williams, everything about his Alabama visit was tremendous.
“My experience was amazing,” Williams said. “I did the camp two days in a row and the coaches worked us hard.
“I also took a visit around the school and the school was amazing. The coaches after the camp said they loved the way I play and how I can play multiple positions here and how dynamic I am at my position. (Coach Nick) Saban was coaching me at the camp and I took everything in and he's also the coach who offered me.”
Williams, who has racked up numerous offers from top national programs, said he was definitely impressed with Saban after spending two days around the Crimson Tide coach.
“I love the way he coaches and the way he carries himself as a coach and how he pushes you every rep,” Williams said.
It’s still early for the 2019 four-star but Williams did say Alabama will remain high on his list entering his junior season.
USC, LSU, Stanford, Oklahoma and Nebraska are some other schools that have captured Williams’ attention early in the recruiting process. A lot of top Serra prospects end up at USC but it also seems Williams wants to give all these national programs a chance.

Alabama has hosted many highly rated recruits this offseason but five-star Micah Parsons is one of the most talented to make the trip to Tuscaloosa this year. The Harrisburg, Pa. defensive end had plenty of good things to say about his time with the Crimson Tide.
IN HIS OWN WORDS...
"I had a good time down there," Parsons said. "I got to see the campus, talk to coach Saban, sit with the coaching staff, and build a relationship with the players. The coaches were telling me about how I fit their program, different ways they will use me and my versatility with my speed off the edge and my technique. They showed me a lot of how they used Ryan Anderson and Tim Williams. They said I am a lot like Tim Williams.
"Vandarius (Cowan), Dylan Moses, and Najee Harris were really recruiting me," he said. "We watched the players work out and they told me if I like working hard and getting better then Alabama is the place to go. If you want to play with the best, that’s where you want to go.
"I’ll probably be in Columbus for Friday Night Lights," said Parsons. "I’ve been to Ohio State a bunch of times so I’m just looking forward to hanging with coach Johnson, working out with him, and see the other coaches.
"I’m trying to visit Georgia and Florida State all on July 29th,” he said. "I don’t know if that’s going to work out yet.
"After I finish my summer visits then I’ll trim my list down to a final five or six and those will be my official visits," Parsons said. "Those Georgia and Florida State visits will probably be list last summer visits."
RIVALS' REACTION
Parsons clearly enjoyed his time at Alabama and the effort by the players there definitely made an impact. Alabama seems like they will be a contender for Parsons all the way up to his commitment but there is stiff competition from Ohio State. The Buckeyes are the favorite to land Parsons but Georgia, Florida State, and a few other programs could have a say before all is said and done. Expect Parsons to take all of his official visits.

Najee Harris
The skinny: Harris was a long-time Alabama commitment who took a serious look at Michigan before ultimately signing with the Crimson Tide. He arrived on campus in January and has already blended in nicely with an already loaded backfield. While he is extremely talented and has an immense amount of potential, will Harris be able to take carries away from Damien Harris, Bo Scarbrough and Josh Jacobs?
Farrell’s take: The only thing that can stop Harris, one of the top five or so running backs I’ve ever scouted, is Alabama's depth at running back. He may have to wait his turn and show patience. Harris has size, speed, elusiveness and can run with power as well as impact in the passing game. Simply put, he can do it all and is one of only three running backs in Rivals.com history to be ranked No. 1 overall (Adrian Peterson and Bryce Brown).

Da'Shawn Hand
The skinny: After trimming his list of favorites down to Alabama, Florida and Michigan, it was actually the Wolverines that were seen as the favorite. The Crimson Tide finally surpassed Michigan after his official visit to Tuscaloosa in late October, which resulted in his commitment in November. Hand has yet to reach his full potential in Tuscaloosa, but after showing improved and more consistent play in 2016, a great deal will be expected from him this fall.
Farrell’s take: Hand held on to the No. 1 spot in 2014 by a hair over Myles Garrett and so far it hasn’t looked like the right choice. That doesn’t mean Hand has been a disappointment like Cowart as he has had to play behind some stars and wait his turn. Hand has shown some flashes of brilliance, but this is his last chance to live up to the hype. Big things are expected from one of the quickest rush ends I’ve seen with the best balance out of high school.
