Nation’s No. 1 OLB Adam Anderson has Alabama in his top 5

Adam Anderson de-committed from LSU on Thursday night. On Monday night, he released a top 5 of Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.

my top 5 not in any order Giving each one another look before my final commitment.
-Alabama??
-Florida??
-Clemson.??
-Tennesee??
-Georgia??

— Adam Anderson (@AdanAnderson5) July 11, 2017

Staying closer to home is important to Anderson, who attends Rome (Ga.) High. Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee offer him the best opportunities to do so. Alabama is 180 miles from Rome High, Clemson is 185, Georgia is 133 and Tennessee is 166. Staying close to home is important to Anderson because of all the adversity he has faced in his life.

Anderson told SEC Country on Monday night that the Crimson Tide staff has been in contact with him a lot as of late. But Georgia is seen as the clear favorite for Anderson. He was once committed to the Bulldogs and it’s the school he has visited the most. He’s comfortable there. The Crimson Tide will need to get him on campus to have a shot.

Jalen Cunningham has Alabama in his top 3

Jalen Cunningham, a 3-star defensive tackle from Saint Clair County High School (Odenville, Ala.), released a top 3 of Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss on Monday night.

This is a simple recruitment to understand. If he ends up earning a committable offer from Alabama in the future, then he will be a Crimson Tide commitment. As of now, he doesn’t have that committable offer. He still needs to work out for the staff. That may not be possible for some time as Cunningham has turf toe, which will cause him to miss part of his senior season.

There are concerns with Cunningham’s weight, as well. At last check, he weighed more than 360 pounds. Alabama wants him to be around 340. If that happens and he has a good performance in front of the coaching staff in the future, Cunningham will get the green light.

FWIW KN just posted that he's as confident as he's ever been about Coynis Miller landing at AU after talking with a few people. Seems to think that Tadarian Moultry has helped AU a lot. Even if he does commit to us in August tho I won't feel confident till he signs. I haven't forgot Da'Ron Payne, Quinnen Williams and Dee Liner

It's weird. Both BOL and KN feel confident about him. I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.

Agreed. I am cautiously optimistic just because all of the AU guys are saying the same thing but so are Bama guys for their side. Will be interesting to see if either side budges in lead up to his announcement. FWIW I think the big thing helping AU is momma wants AU. Family is hurting us with Andres Fox but sounds like it might help us pull in Miller

Just wait until momma gets to do the Electric Slide with Mrs. Terry on his OV.

Interesting. Rodney Orr posted last night that he didn't think Corral was our guy.

I'll say this. He may not be the guy we ultimately want, and I know TideSaint didn't like his Junior film, but Daboll is supposedly fascinated with Jarren Williams (isn't that the name of the guy who committed, decommitted, and then recommitted to UK?). I know he wants him to come throw for us pretty badly at the next camp. McKee might also be a guy we try to get if he's willing to do the weird LOI deal while he goes on his Mission.

God damnit

That recruitment is still the one I am the most bitter about. We had commits show up to his announcement that's how confident everyone was because he had literally told AU staff and others he was coming. Freaking silent commits

It would be unwise for McKee to sign a LOI now and not be here for 2 years. No telling what will change in 2 years.

If there were no injuries at QB this year, Bama could probably not sign a QB in this class and sign 2 next year, but there is no way to know that for sure.

Whoever Bama signs in this class, I expect him to transfer in 2 years.

He won't. he'll commit, and maybe sign the financial aid paperwork, but he won't sign the LOI.

I like Williams, but not as much as the other guys we have offered.

McKee has said he will not sign a LOI until he returns from his trip. He would just commit this year.

Noice. He's bigger than my full grown pitbull/American bulldog already. She's female, so that's part of it. But still, that's gonna be a huge dog

Cornerback Jaycee Horn, a 4-star from Alpharetta (Ga.) High School, will delay his decision, which was once said to be between South Carolina and Alabama.

“When I got more serious about it and looking at where I really wanted to go I just couldn’t decide,” Horn told Phil Kornblut. “Then Tennessee picked up a lot … after I thought about it, it’s a good situation there also. That’s really what made me push it back.”

10 bold predictions for LSU's 2019 recruiting class

quote:

LSU will land the nation's premier edge rusher, Kayvon Thibodeaux

Kayvon Thibodeaux is the nation's No. 1 overall prospect, according to 247 Sports. If the name didn't already give it away, he is a Louisiana native currently residing in California, and the Tigers are positioned as well as anyone to land the 6-foot-5, 235-pound phenom. Thibodeaux visited LSU in the spring, and the Tigers laid out the red carpet during his stay. They have been vigilant in remaining one of the leaders on Thibodeaux's list, but he is not going to tip his hand just yet.

However, the Tigers appear to be his leader behind the scenes, although USC and many others will play a major factor in how things shake out. I would have to say the Tigers are the favorites right now, though, from everything I've gathered.

LSU will land the Tangipahoa trio of Ishmael Sopsher, Devonta Lee and Trey Palmer

LSU had its struggles in keeping the fence up around Louisiana, but no area has proven to be more difficult than the talent-rich area of Tangipahoa Parish. But things could change in an instant with the 2019 class. LSU still has a lot of work to do on this talented trio, but I see them as the leaders for Palmer and Lee, and I doubt Ed Orgeron would lose a defensive lineman that close to home, right? When it all shakes out, I expect the Tigers to sign all three of these high-profile prospects.

It's time for Sam Pettito to get to work.

LSU will sign at least four prospects with a 5-star ranking

As of now, I see the Tigers landing Ishmael Sopsher, Kayvon Thibodeaux, LSU commit Kenyon Green, Kardell Thomas, Devonta Lee, Derek Stingley Jr., Trey Palmer and John Emery Jr., all of whom will be viewed as potential five-stars by the time the 2019 recruiting cycle comes to an end, with Ishmael Sopsher, Kenyon Green and Kayvon Thibodeaux already receiving the sought-after fifth star. Realistically, not all of them will get there, but I don't see how any of the guys listed above don't end up the top 50 in the country.

Tigers will miss on CB Akeem Dent, but will strike gold with Derek Stingley

I view Derek Stingley and Florida's Akeem Dent as the two premier cornerback prospects in the country for 2019, and LSU views them that way as well. Signing both would be historic--signing one would be outstanding. And the Tigers should sign at least one. For now, that one appears more likely to be Dunham's Derek Stingley, as Dent seems to be getting closer and closer to Miami.
