Will LSU really take 5 RB's?
I honestly am baffled by their recruiting strategy right now. The Tae Provens commit was a shocker to me. He's solid but doesn't make a ton of sense for them right now. Curry and Carter are solid LSU type of backs but with other guys still out there you would think they would only take one of those 3 guys right now
I suspect there will be some processing going on later this year

With Orgeron running the show who knows what they are going to do.
I read Meat Market a few years ago and he pulled some crazy shite during his time at Ole Miss.

Zamir White announces in 25 minutes. Here's how to watch it online:

247Sports has two guys at Scotland County -- Brad Crawford and Ross Martin -- with only two people there, they can only broadcast it on two Facebook accounts -- UGA and UNC. You can either venture over there to watch, or watch here.
The announcement is set for 11 a.m. CT.

I woke up this morning thinking Zamir White was definitely headed elsewhere and then Hank South posts stuff like this:

There are some that believe Alabama has a legit shot. He's visited multiple times, mom likes Bama, Tosh, maintained contact etc., I'm just not going to go out on a limb and predict him to Bama at this point. I think it's UGA, with Bama having significantly closed the gap in the last month. If he chooses Bama, though, I'll be less shocked than when Xavier McKinney recommitted.

This isn't me sucking up it's just the truth. Right now if Bama or Ohio State are finalist for a kid and they want em I always assume there's at least a 50% chance they land there. Just how things are right now

I don't think we've beaten Ohio State head to head for a kid since Trey DePriest.
Thanks Urban.

Why the following players weren’t included in the mock signing class
SEC Country took a stab at predicting Alabama’s 2018 signing class come February. It’s a tall task considering the Crimson Tide have only five commitments so far and 17 spots to fill.
As always, fans are going to want to know why so-and-so didn’t make the cut. I’ve already had several of you ask about certain players, so I went ahead and explained why each of them didn’t make the initial projection.
Let’s take a look at the most asked about names.

Quarterback — Jack Tuttle, Matt Corral, Justin Fields
Jack Tuttle is the one quarterback who is most associated with being Alabama’s potential quarterback in the 2018 class. It’s hard for me to say he’ll be the guy considering he’s saying all of the right things about his commitment to Utah. The 4-star prospect also has never visited Tuscaloosa, although there has been talk that a summer visit is possible.
Matt Corral, a 5-star prospect, is expected to visit Tuscaloosa on July 21 for Alabama’s Champions Cookout. Until that visit happens, it’s not likely he’ll be the Tide’s quarterback. We’ll circle back on him after he makes his first visit.
Fields visited Alabama over the weekend, as first reported by SEC Country. He has told us that the Crimson Tide weren’t strongly in the mix, but visiting would say otherwise. I’d still put Alabama behind Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Georgia right now.

Wide receiver — Jacob Copeland, Jaylen Waddle
Jacob Copeland is considered one of the top athletes in the country by the Tide staff. He’s a big priority to the team, so much so that he rode with Nick Saban to Bryant-Denny Stadium for A-Day this past April. While Copeland posts a lot of Alabama-related stuff on social media, I think Florida signs him in the end. He loves playing the recruiting game. The Gators have prioritized him ever since Jim McElwain was hired, and I think that pushes them over the Tide.
Jayden Waddle is one of the team’s top slot receiver targets. He visited for camp earlier this month and was a star. Alabama is strongly pursuing him, but there are some rumors out there that he wants to be in a class with no other slot receivers committed. Alabama has one committed in Xavier Williams.

Tight end — Luke Ford
Luke Ford could definitely be a part of this class, but we need to wait until Aug. 1. That’s the day Dominick Wood-Anderson commits. Wood-Anderson, the nation’s No. 1 junior college tight end, is Alabama’s top tight end target. If Wood-Anderson chooses elsewhere, Ford will take his spot in the next class projection

I don't think I've ever been as disconnected from recruiting as I am this year. I have no idea who any of the recruits are, very who's good, etc.. at least not since Saban came here
I'm with you. I used to follow it super closely, but that was back early in Saban's tenure when most of the action took place late in the recruiting year. It's a lot to keep up with. Thankfully we have this thread.

Offensive line — Nicholas Petit-Frere
I was close to putting Nicholas Petit-Frere in the mock signing class over Jerome Carvin. However, I’ve been told that Carvin is leaning heavily toward the Crimson Tide. I haven’t been told that about Petit-Frere just yet. I do know that he really likes the Crimson Tide, but Notre Dame, the biggest contender, is a much better school academically than Alabama. Academics are very important for Petit-Frere.

Defensive line — Caleb Tremblay
Caleb Tremblay could definitely see himself in Alabama’s class. The junior college prospect has emerged as a top target after a good performance at Alabama’s OL/DL camp earlier this month. If Jalen Cunningham can’t lose weight and earn a committable offer, I would replace him with Tremblay.

Linebacker — KJ Henry, Andres Fox, Micah Parsons
KJ Henry, a 5-star prospect, has visited Tuscaloosa numerous times. I believe Clemson is still the team to beat here. It’s a really close battle between the Tide and Tigers. I’m giving Clemson the edge because Henry himself said he was leaning toward Clemson a year ago.
Andres Fox grew up an Alabama fan. His parents are also big Alabama fans, but Auburn should be considered the team to beat here. The in-state product likely would have been committed to the Tigers by now, but his parents needed some convincing.
Micah Parsons, a 5-star prospect, hasn’t visited Tuscaloosa yet but is supposed to make his first trip this summer. We’ll see if Alabama can make up some ground once it gets him on campus.

My sources say White is wearing baby blue underwear

Defensive back — Tyson Campbell, Patrick Surtain Jr., Nadab Joseph
Tyson Campbell, a 4-star prospect, is considered to be Alabama’s No. 1 cornerback target. Miami and Ohio State are in better position for him right now.
Patrick Surtain Jr., the nation’s No. 1 cornerback, is a strong lean to LSU. I’m not sure why he hasn’t committed yet.
Nadab Joseph is committed to LSU, but his commitment should be considered shaky at best. I have Josh Jobe currently projected to sign with Alabama. Jobe, a Miami commit, has said his recruitment is 100 percent over, but I do not believe him.

What are y'all hearing on Harold Joiner?
So FWIW KN just put out an update on Joiner. Apparently he has officially eliminated LSU now because of all the RB commits and is now planning on visiting AU in July. Also no longer so certain he will commit in August. Dude's recruitment is whirlwind

He's gonna put the tablecloth on and play for Wimp

For some reason LSU people have been calling Joiner a "Bama lock" for weeks now.
