RB Asa Martin
The latest: There is a battle between Auburn and Florida. Texas recently offered and Martin may give the Longhorns and a few other schools a look, but in the end, it is likely to be the Tigers or Gators. This one is very tight. Auburn is the in-state school, but Florida blew Martin and his family away on their visit to the Swamp not that long ago. As of today, the Gators seem to be the team to beat, but this one could really be too close to call.
Prediction: Florida

ATH Kearis Jackson
The latest: Jackson is nowhere near a decision and he is not giving too much away when he does interviews. His latest offer is from Georgia Tech, the school he visited last Friday, and then he followed that up with a visit to Georgia on Saturday. The perception is that the Bulldogs are the favorite, but Auburn and Florida State are two other schools to keep an eye on. He is planning to take his recruitment late into the fall.
Prediction: Georgia

OT Christian Armstrong
The latest: Armstrong has his list down to four, Auburn, Florida State, Penn State and Tennessee. We will likely not have to wait much longer for him to reveal his decision. Penn State is the one that sticks out being it outside the region, and the Nittany Lions made a strong impression when they hosted him earlier this year. The buzz seems to be around Florida State. He visited Tallahassee (Fla.) the first two weekends of April.
Prediction: Florida State

WR Brennan Eagles
The latest: Eagles took visits to Clemson and Georgia following the appearance at Sunday’s camp and picked up an offer from the Tigers. Georgia was on the top-ten list of schools that he released earlier in this spring, but his interest in Clemson could shake up the list. He’s going to take his recruitment right up to National Signing Day, so anything could still happen, but Oklahoma has felt like the safe guess for some time now.
Prediction: Oklahoma
This is the kid who said we offered too late.

Coaches are on the road all over the country evaluating players, handing out new offers and one went out minutes ago from Alabama to 2019 defensive end Derrick McLendon.
The 6-foot-4, 225 pound rising junior out of Tucker (Ga.) said this "solidifies" himself as a top recruit because he views Alabama as the best program in the country.
"They are on top," said McLendon. "Alabama has been the best team in the country for a little while now. They win and I think of Alabama at football university. Now that have offered me, that tells me I have a chance to be one of the best. It shows me that a top program thinks I can play for them."
McLendon has camped in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) two times and he has had interest in the Crimson Tide for about 10 years.
"I camped at Alabama after my eighth grade year and after my ninth grade year. I worked with coach [Tosh] Lupoi (outside linebackers) last year and he is great. He worked with me at the position Alabama used Tim Williams at the last few years.
"It was great be over there at camp and now to have the offer because I have been a big fan of Alabama's since I was around seven years old. I used to think I was a running back as a kid and I wanted to be the next Mark Ingram. I loved Ingram, Julio Jones and all those guys when I was growing up.
"Getting an offer like this is pretty amazing."
Florida has had the edge for McLendon for a couple months, Georgia he said made a big move last weekend after his visit to Athens (Ga.) and the Crimson Tide are right in the mix.
"I can't even say what my interest is like in Alabama right now," said McLendon. "I know I like them, I know I will be back over there this summer and I have loved them since I was a kid.
"They are a top team and I know I have some interest in them now that I have the offer."
Derrick Ansley, Alabama's defensive backs coach stopped by Tucker High School Thursday to tell head coach Bryan Lamar about McLendon's offer.

Just spoke with Scout 100 WR Al'Vonte Woodard, who picked up a Bama offer after his Top 10 dropped. He said it doesn't change anything. Sorry to bring bad news.
"They're not in the mix."
Ok then.

Michael Thompson, a 6-foot-4, 309-pound defensive tackle from St. Louis (Mo.) Parkway North has collected one of the nation's most elite offer lists securing scholarships from schools like Alabama, Florida, Iowa, Louisville, LSU, Miami (Fl), Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Texas A&M.
Thompson has not yet narrowed down his focus to a Top 10, but there have been some memorable moments already in his recruitment.
"When I got an offer from Ohio State," Thompson answered when asked if any moments stuck out. "It was surreal I did not really expect it to come. They offered my sophomore year.
I went to two (Ohio State) games (last season) -- when they played Indiana and when they played Michigan. The Michigan game was wild, it was crazy, it was real loud."
Thompson also made unofficial visitl stops in 'SEC Country' taking in historical football powers like Alabama and LSU.
Alabama - "It was just a great visit all around. They recruit real good. They recruit good, they work out good. They raise their players to be good people overall."
LSU - "I feel like I really like Coach (Ed) Orgeron (LSU Head Coach). I feel like he cares about you more as a person than as a player. He welcomed me good. I just liked it and that stadium is humongous."
Thompson has also visited Illinois, Iowa, Mississippi and Missouri. He does not have a set list of summer trips planned, but there is one program in the Big 10 Conference he definitely wants to see.
"I don’t want to say that there are schools that I have got to see," Thompson answered when asked if there were certain visits he needed to make before announcing his cut-down list. "But I want to see more schools.
One I know I want to see is Nebraska, but I am not sure about the other ones right now. I just know they got a good fan base (at Nebraska) and I just want to get down there and check it out."
Thompson is not in a rush to end his recruitment.
"I am going to ride it out until the end on National Signing Day," Thompson informed.
As a junior in 2016, Thompson racked up 90 tackles, 14 sacks, and 15 tackles for loss to earn All-Metro, All-State and Scout.com All-Midlands honors.

How old are these guys? Wait, how old am I?
This almost looks ludicrous to read.

Horn explains why Alabama is on top for him
ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Jaycee Horn, a major Alabama cornerback target in the Class of 2018, received a in-depth tour of the Atlanta Falcons practice facility back in 2007. His father, former Chiefs, Saints and Falcons wide receiver Joe Horn, who played in the NFL from 1996-2007, was his tour guide. His father showed his son everything players do on a day-to-day basis, from where they eat breakfast in the mornings to the hot and cold tubs they relax in after practice.
That day has stuck with Jaycee to this day.
“His point was just to show me that if I work hard enough, I can get to that level, too,” Horn told SEC Country. “I always think about that when I’m working out or if I get tired or when I’m working on my last reps.”
Horn now has 39 scholarship offers, which include some of the nation’s best programs such as Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State and many more. But it’s the Crimson Tide who lead for the 3-star cornerback from Alpharetta High School.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect visited Tuscaloosa with his father this past weekend and left with the Tide on top for his services. It wasn’t the first time he’s been to Alabama, but this trip was different.
Horn made sure he attended A-Day because he knew other top recruits were going to be in attendance. When he previously visited the school, he was either the only recruit on campus that day or one of just a handful. Going to the spring game would be a chance to see how the coaching staff acted around him with other top players there. If the coaches showed him attention, he would know that they are serious about wanting him.
“I just felt like they made me feel like I was a priority to them,” Horn said. “Getting to see their DBs in live action, I could see that they struggled a bit. I feel like — knowing they didn’t sign any ’17 cornerbacks — I would have the opportunity to get on the field early and compete for a spot.
“I just felt very wanted there. I got a chance to talk to Coach (Nick) Saban during warm-ups. That was amazing. The whole atmosphere there was just crazy. Talking to Coach Saban really made me feel like I was a priority to them.”
Horn and his father, he said, grew up fans of Alabama. Ask Horn to rattle off former Tide defensive backs he likes and he can do so without hesitation. He’s also aware of the team’s current situation in the secondary. After this season, there are going to be opportunities for a freshman to possibly come in and make an impact.
Tony Brown and Anthony Averett will be gone. Minkah Fitzpatrick is a likely candidate to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft, and depending on how he progresses this season, Ronnie Harrison could leave for the league.
That presents a big opportunity for a 2018 defensive back who’s considering the school. Alabama didn’t sign any corners in the Class of 2017 so getting a handful this year is very important to the Tide.
“That’s a huge factor, and probably the biggest factor, for why they lead,” Horn said. “That’s most of their secondary besides Ronnie Harrison and Trevon Diggs. Ronnie could be gone, too, if he has a good year. That’s why I’m trying to work on everything I can and compete. I don’t have to wait for a ’17 corner to get his time because there weren’t any.”
Most of the time, Horn says a lot of schools just tell him what he wants to hear. The next first-round pick. The next All-American. The next difference maker on Day 1. Blah. Blah. Blah. That’s where his father comes in.
Horn’s father committed to South Carolina before enrolling in junior college, but he heard the same messages back in the day, too. His father keeps everything in perspective for him.
“He’s pretty much my best friend,” Horn said. “I text him the most. He just helps keep my head on straight. He helps me dissect the real from the fake in this recruiting. That’s a good thing about having a dad that played in the NFL.”
Horn said whenever his father has an opinion of a school or player, he listens intently. One of the main reasons for that is because of a conversation he had with former Falcons wide receiver Roddy White. White told a young Jaycee how much his father impacted his career.
“Hearing him talk about my dad like that and giving him his props was really cool,” Horn said. “Roddy White told me my dad helped turn his career around. Hearing him say that about my father was really cool. When my dad is telling me something, I make sure that I’m all ears and listen.”
So, when his father says something like the following quote, it should not be taken lightly.
“He thinks it’s the closest thing you’re going to get to the NFL, especially for a DB,” Horn said. “They run an NFL type of defense. They play a lot of man to man. Nick Saban, you can debate on the fact that he’s the best DB coach in the nation right now.”
The Under Armour All-American said Tide defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley is in contact with him every day. If he had to give percentages for which schools would be at the top of his list, Horn said Alabama would be at 100 with South Carolina and Tennessee both at 85 percent.
Those three schools are for sure receiving official visits from him this fall. He’s expecting to visit South Carolina in the coming weeks, Wake Forest in June and Florida State at some point in the next few months. The Seminoles offered him a scholarship on Thursday. He said he has to consider them because “The (greatest of all time, Deion Sanders) played there.”
It’s still going to be tough for any school to leapfrog Alabama. Every time he’s been to Tuscaloosa, he’s thought about ending his recruitment. He doesn’t know exactly when he’ll make a commitment.
“I kind of had a commit feeling inside me when I was there this past weekend, but I try not to make decisions off of emotions,” Horn said. “Every time I have visited Alabama, I have gotten that feeling. I just went back home after the visit and just chilled out. After I got back home and waited a few days, I still feel the same way. That’s why they’re leading for me.”

Lol at a former NFL player's son with his offer list and measurables being rated a 3*. How long before he's all the way in the top 100? I give it until July.

He's a beast.
His ranking is due to never playing football before last year. He'll shoot up the rankings like you said.

It takes just one player to change that, though, and maybe that player could be 4-star athlete L’Christian Smith. Smith dropped his top 10 schools on Thursday and the Vols made the cut, along with Ohio State, Minnesota, Penn State, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Michigan State.
