I wonder what the board looks like at reciever and how many Bama will take.

Bama has one current commit who might play reciever in Williams, but he is listed as a athlete.

Ross and Seth Williams have to be high on the board.

I've seen the number at 3 by two different sites.

He's a WR.

Ross? Yes. Williams? Backup plan apparently.

Williams is going to grow into an h-back or even TE.

He could take the spot we offered Harold Joiner then.

I can't believe LSU is telling him that he's their top RB.

Alabama put its fourth quarterback offer on the table in the 2019 class, this time to four-star signal caller Spencer Rattler of Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle, he announced on Twitter.

— Spencer Rattler (@SpencerRattler) April 27, 2017

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder holds a dozen offers at this stage in his recruitment. Oklahoma is the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite at 100 percent.

Last season Rattler passed for 2,893 yards and 29 touchdowns, and rushed 462 yards and five additional scores.

Rattler is rated the No. 3 pro-style quarterback, and the No. 60 overall player in the class, per 247Sports.

The Arizona product also excels on the basketball court where he averaged 11.9 points per game last season.

Other quarterbacks in the class with Tide offers include JT Daniels, Bo Nix, and Taulia Tagovailoa.

Four-star linebacker Amari Gainer made his third visit back to Tuscaloosa since the Mississippi State game last season for A-Day.

The Tallahassee (Fla.) Lawton Chiles has the Tide in his top six along with Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Texas, and UCLA.

"It was good," Gainer told BamaOnLine of the trip. "I loved my weekend in Bama."

Paul Tyson just landed his first SEC offer from Kentucky after landing his first overall offer from Jacksonville State on Wednesday.

I'm told Brent Key stopped by Hewitt-Trussville yesterday and took video of Tyson. The staff is definitely interested. I wouldn't be shocked to see an offer come down this summer, if not sooner.

Offers are rolling in for Hewitt-Trussville 2019 quarterback Paul Tyson in the first week of spring practice.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Tyson has picked up offers from Jacksonville State and Kentucky. Tyson's great-grandfather, Paul "Bear" Bryant, was Kentucky's head coach from 1946-53.

"It's an honor," Tyson said. "I'm very blessed and excited to receive an offer there! It means a lot!"

Tyson played on Mountain Brook's junior varsity last fall and has minimal varsity experience, but is competing to be Hewitt-Trussville's starting quarterback this fall. He has gotten better physically and athletically, noting that he improved his 40-yard dash time to 4.9 seconds.

"The exciting thing is that Paul can make every throw," Huskies coach Josh Floyd said. "He has a big-time arm."

JSU watched Tyson practice on Monday and issued an offer Tuesday morning. Kentucky was at Hewitt-Trussville on Wednesday and offered Tyson today.

Hewitt-Trussville will play Cordova (Tenn.) on May 13 at 1 p.m. at Jacksonville State in its spring game.

Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Roll Tide-ings, a rundown of everything happening in Alabama Crimson Tide recruiting with Chris Kirschner. Today, we discuss the latest with 5-star offensive guard Clay Webb and 2019 quarterback Paul Tyson.

Webb’s relationship with Quick helps Alabama’s chances

OXFORD, Ala. — SEC Country attended Nike’s The Opening regional camp in Buford, Ga., and the Under Armour Camp Series in Johns Creek, Ga., where both Pierce Quick, a 4-star offensive tackle in the Class of 2019, and 5-star offensive guard Clay Webb were. Wherever Quick was, Webb wasn’t farther than an arm-length away. When the offensive linemen were warming up, Webb and Quick paired up.

It was clear that Webb and Quick are very close friends. Quick committed to Alabama this weekend in a heartfelt letter with SEC Country. That decision could pay dividends with Webb when he makes his commitment next year.

“I think so — definitely,” Webb said when asked if Quick’s commitment could help Alabama’s chances with him. “I would already know a person who’s my friend that’s going [to be] on the team. That should make going to a team easier.

“We have developed a friendship coming off the season last year. Every time we’ve been at a camp, I’ve seen him and he’s seen me. We’ve just buddied up.”

Quick told SEC Country that one of his biggest priorities now that he’s committed is getting his friend, Webb, on board, too. Webb said that Alabama, via offensive line coach Brent Key, is recruiting him the hardest. The 5-star prospect from Oxford High School said he’s already down to Alabama, Auburn and Georgia.

He’s gotten feelings of wanting to commit to both in-state schools.

But it’s the Crimson Tide who he feels closest with because of Coach Key.

“I just really like his character,” Webb said. “It really resembles mine. I kind of see myself in him.”

Most schools recruiting Webb have talked to him about either playing guard or center at the next level. He prefers guard because he just doesn’t feel natural snapping the ball, he said. Don’t tell that to Quick, though.

Quick believes he is the No. 1 player at the position in their recruiting class.

“I think Clay is the best center in the nation for 2019, no doubt,” Quick said. “I’ve seen him lose maybe two reps at all the camps I’ve been to. We are also really good friends and I just want him on my team at the next level.”

Webb did not attend A-Day this past weekend. He instead visited Athens for G-Day with his coach at Oxford. If there’s one school that could potentially pluck him out of state, it’s Georgia. Webb has a family connection to the school through his uncle, who is a “really, really, really big Georgia fan.”

His uncle is always asking him if he’s going to be a Bulldog one day, but Webb just laughs. He has been in contact with Bulldogs offensive line coach Sam Pittman recently.

“I got to speak to Coach Pittman and he really made me feel like he would like to have me as an athlete and a player,” Webb said. “I like him a lot. I just like his character. I like his charisma.”

Both of Webb’s parents went to Jacksonville State University and he did not grow up a fan of either Alabama or Auburn. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound prospect said he just rooted for good matchups when he grew up.

Webb can be classified as one of Alabama’s top 5 priorities in the Class of 2019. During the contact period this past January, Nick Saban watched Webb compete in a wrestling tournament. Webb can bench press 450 pounds, which he says is a school record, and he wears some of the shortest shorts you’ll see to show off his tree trunk-sized thighs.

Alabama is in good position to land Webb when he makes his decision, and you better believe his friend and new Tide commitment won’t stop bugging him until he makes that decision.

“I will get him at ‘Bama with me,” Quick said. “That’s my top priority.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky football is trying to bring a member of the Bryant family back to Lexington. Quarterback prospect Paul Tyson, great-grandson of legendary coach Bear Bryant, picked up an offer from the Wildcats on Thursday.

Before his days at Texas A&M and Alabama, Bryant led Kentucky to eight winning seasons from 1946-53. Bryant went 60-23-5 with the Wildcats and still holds the mark for most victories by a Kentucky coach.

Tyson, 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, is a 2019 quarterback prospect from Trussville, Ala. Kentucky is the first SEC school to offer Tyson a scholarship. His other offer is from Jacksonville State, but Tyson received interest from Alabama and Clemson.

Extremely blessed to receive an offer from the University of Kentucky!! All glory to God! pic.twitter.com/AS9RKGvHGS

A skilled Georgia prospect has released an SEC-heavy top 10.

Caleb Tannor, a 3-star defensive end from Lithonia, Ga., included eight SEC teams in his top 10 published on Twitter. Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Mississippi State and South Carolina made the cut. The only non-SEC schools featured are Clemson and Ohio State.

With long thought I have decided to narrow my decision down to a top 10 ????……(no order) @ChadSimmons_ @DaGroveFootball @Keith247Sports pic.twitter.com/EWaDljHlxV

— Caleb Tannor 2??1??® (@cvleb10) April 26, 2017

Tannor is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect. He’s ranked as the No. 428 player for the Class of 2018 and the No. 43 player in Georgia, as rated by 247Sports’ national composite. 247Sports ranks him as the class’ No. 23 weak-side defensive end.

Georgia is the heavy favorite to secure Tannor’s commitment. 247Sports’ crystal ball prediction gives the Bulldogs a 100-percent chance of landing the promising player.

There’s still plenty of time before Tannor must make a decision. But as the situation stands now, there’s a good chance that he will find himself on an SEC field one day.

OG Trey Hill

The latest: Hill is keeping his options open and he always says all the right things, but it is likely to come down to Auburn, Clemson and Georgia. You cannot rule out Florida and Florida State, along with a few others, but the Tigers and Bulldogs are strongly being considered.

He has visited each school multiple times, but when it is this close, the in-state school is the one I lean towards. His teammate Jake Fromm signed with the Dawgs in 2017, he knows he can see the field very early at center there and while this race is very close, Georgia is in a good position.

Prediction: Georgia

CB Jaycee Horn

The latest: After a visit to Alabama over the weekend, Horn returned home publicly stating that the Crimson Tide was on top. There is no timeline for Horn to make his decision, but Alabama does not lose too many that it leads for and pursues. South Carolina and Tennessee are two others to keep an eye on, Georgia and Ohio State remain in the discussion, but Alabama looks to be in a great spot in this race.

Prediction: Alabama
