Oh Lawd.

Now "insiders" on BOL are predicting a run of CBs for Campbell to Alabama to start coming in.

That thread calling for Chef's attention had some pretty heavy hitters in it. I haven't seen some of them in years.

Under-the-radar tight end could land with Alabama | al.com

quote:

Last year, Alabama landed a versatile tight end, Kedrick James, that the Crimson Tide staff felt could eventually become an impact player on offense or possibly even along the defensive line. Alabama may end up with a similar player this year.

While he isn't ranked as high as some of the Tide's other remaining targets, word is that Bama coaches like Louisiana three-star tight end Glenn Beal and that he could end up signing with Alabama during National Signing Day Wednesday.

Like with James, college coaches feel the 6-foot-5, 265-pound Beal could also be a good defensive lineman. Bama, though, is recruiting him as a tight end.

"He's a guy that has a lot of rare athletic ability in terms of being able to adjust to either side of the ball," said J.T. Curtis, Beal's coach at John Curtis High School in River Ridge, Louisiana. "And I think, regardless of where he would play, he has the athleticism to be an impact-type player. Certainly, from a colleges standpoint, that's a real asset that he brings to the table. But I think Alabama and the other schools are really zeroing in on his ability at tight end. Six-foot-4-plus and 270 pounds that can run and is a good blocker, that doesn't come along often. And I think he brings that to the table."

Alabama is one of four finalists for Beal, along with Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Beal took an official visit to Alabama January 26. He will announce his decision Wednesday at noon during a ceremony at his high school.

"I think it's going to come down to a matter of how does he feel like he'll fit into that scheme and how he'd be used as a player," Curtis said. "And what I've tried to tell him, and what we've talked about, is -- although that's important -- it's not as important as him feeling like this is a place I'd be comfortable going to school or most comfortable going to school, I should say. So I think that's what it's going to come down to."

More "insider" info to chew on from BOL:

Malik Langham doesn't hold a committable offer.

Hmm.

Yea we said that earlier today. Some folks saying Beal has a higher priority ranking than Langham and we need Langham’s spot... hmm.
