We just added another Top 15 recruiter to the staff in WR coach (and Co-OC) Josh Gattis from Penn State.

Gattis also became one of the top recruiters in the Big Ten, bringing in a receiving class that included three of the nation’s top 50 prospects. Among them are Nazareth High’s Jahan Dotson and five-star receiver Justin Shorter, the nation’s No. 3 prospect at the position, according to 247Sports.com.

At Penn State, Gattis developed the receivers into one of the best position groups in the Big Ten. He coached Chris Godwin, an all-Big Ten receiver who became a second-round draft pick, and DaeSean Hamilton, the team’s all-time leader in catches. Previously, Gattis coached all-Americans Jordan Matthews at Vanderbilt and Jordan White at Western Michigan.

With the talent we have at the WR alone and adding this guy, gonna start praying for these opposing SEC defensive backs. On paper, this looks like an awesome hire

New offer out to a 2019 in-state DT:

DJ Dale Highlights

He's from Pinson (Clay-Chalkville).

ETA: Oh shite. First play in his highlight reel is the same exact play we ran for a TD with Daron Payne in the Sugar Bowl.

ETAA: Holy hell. This kid has Redwoods for legs.

Some dude on BOL regarding DJ Dale:

quote:

Great offer this is only kid all year that gave Clay Webb problems at Oxford. It was a war when they played both winning some and losing some. Seen Webb against Coynis Miller and Dale and Dale is 2x the player Miller is and a class younger.

hearing that Waddle is trending back in our favor. Expect the websites to begin mentioning the same in the next few days.

If we have to choose between Ross, Copeland, & Waddle, who gets left out?

Yea Waddle has to be number one IMO. Well he is the guy I want. Think he will be a special teams terror from day one.

Someone I respect tremendously as an evaluator is very high on Dale as well. In fact, when I read your post after the highlights post, it almost looks like someone saw the same source I did. I'm pretty sure they did, actually. .

The person that that person is sourcing is a VERY good talent evaluator. Very well plugged in with coaches around the league, both in HS and college around the South (especially Bama).

Would be tough to imagine we're not the favorite. But I know nothing personally.

Depends on how it goes with our DB targets. There's a scenario for all 3 since Copeland can play DB. They think he's a very versatile, tremendous athlete. Some even like him better on defense. Just think it depends on our DB targets.

I think the odd man out (as of now... could always change) in almost all scenarios is Sewell. Could potentially be Petit-Frere or bust on the OL.

Clay Webb as well, their lower bases are huge.

As Mike Mayock enjoys saying, "he's got a bubble butt".

Did you see that picture of Langham with Tosh yesterday? Malik is a donkey himself (big strong base) for such a tall, athletic kid. They absolutely love Langham. Think he's going to be the next Rawkwon.

Agree. Brown, Barmore, Langham, and Wynn is a great haul of pure DL guys (that can all play on the interuir) with other guys who can become DEs with growth.
