Ignont officially done with Alabama

Will Ignont, a 4-star linebacker from Buckhorn High School (New Market, Ala.), was once silently committed to Alabama. He backed off of that a few weeks ago after learning that there was no space for him at the time.

He told SEC Country that he’s no longer holding out hope for the Crimson Tide.

“They are not in the picture anymore,” Ignont said.

Ignont is now focusing on Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Florida State and UCLA.

According to the VIP Nugget on BOL, Devonta Smith could announce at any time instead of waiting until Aug 15th. Sometimes those VIP articles already state the obvious and what everybody already know.

I can't wait to see him and Jeudy on the field at the same time.

Cowan is the best recruiter we have had in awhile.

Ignont is off the board at Bama.......and Auburn. Looking hard at Michigan to "get back" at state programs for bailing on him.

Was the off-field drug issues that led to his "dismissal" at IMG that caused the programs to drop him. More interested in getting camp gear then actually performing well at the camp.

My adjusted final 13 list as of now based on some new info posted this afternoon by one of the mods that spoke to one of the coaches. Most of these are known. A few were surprises (or boosts of confidence in said recruit).

WR-Jeudy
WR-Smith
WR-Ruggs
WR-Thomas(? grades?)
TE-Tennison
OL-Trey Smith or Isaiah Wilson
DL-Byers (feeling very confident)
DL-Ray
DL-Ryan Johnson
DL-Shelvin(new revelation to me... needs Slim Fast)
LB-Chris Allen (no new info here. just my projection)
DB-Shaun Wade (a lot more confidence right now)
DB-AJ Terrell (new revelation)

A 3rd RB? Byrd as a second TE? Randolph as another OL? Tyriq McDonald? Somebody is going to have to get left out.

Basically the revelations to me were that there's confidence on Shelvin and Terrell. And feeling VERY good about Wade and Byers. Byers is seen as a potential star. As always, there are a couple possibilities of guys already committed that might wind up elsewhere.

No, but Rodney Orr just posted a few notes and mentioned that Bama felt fairly good about it's chances. He did say that Texas and Ohio State do as well. Three team race right now.

It always does nowadays. I'm sure that won't be our final list. Tons of options at DB, for example.

No Ruiz?

I know we all laughed at it last week, but now Wiltfong even believes Alabama lands him.

I guess you could lump Ruiz in with Randolph. Just not sure what we do at OL ultimately. I do know that (this is probably stating the obvious) Trey Smith and Isaiah Wilson are definitely takes.

Are you leaving Aaron Sterling in the class with that prediction? I personally want to keep him, but I've seen a ton of analysts saying he ends up elsewhere.

Yes, I haven't heard anything definitive on him not being in the final class, so I have him in it for now. I sure hope we hold on to him.

I think he could be a Courtney Upshaw type player for us.
