I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Tua sticks. Will end up at USC.
Wrong. Here's a quote from Tua.
"A lot of the pacific islanders go to the Pac 12 schools, and I’d like to thank each and every one of them for opening up doors for our people in the Pac 12 and on the west coast,” Tagovailoa said. “But I just kind of wanted to be different and open up a new door. My perspective was why not do it at the best school, and I felt Alabama was the best school
He knows if he's coming to Alabama he's going to have to compete to get that spot anyway. I doubt this guy coming is going to make bitch out.

Absolutely fricken love Tua (favorite prospect since Lacy) but down the road it's probably going to come down to a battle between him and Hurts. If Hurts wins out (assuming he redshirts this year) then a second good QB was probably needed in this class. Tua doesn't appear to be one who is shy of competition (he's humbly proud) so I tend to think he sticks with his commitment. If he does flip, I don't think it's because MJ committed - he's intelligent enough to know any school he can be successful at will recruit other good QBs he will have to compete against (when's the last time USC brought in a two star QB). He just doesn't strike me as a kid that runs scared. I think he sticks (and I think he ends up being something very special).
FWIW, I honeymooned in Hawaii so basically i'm an insider.

You'd think these college assistants would stay away from subtweeting players after the A&M fiasco. How dare a kid look out for himself?!

Crimson Tide signee Kendell Jones will not be enrolling at Alabama this fall after failing to qualify academically. Jones’ father confirmed the news with BamaOnLine, after which Kendell prepared a statement:
“We want to thank Coach Saban and all the coaching staff at Bama who stuck with us even though we knew it was an uphill battle, they stuck with me throughout this process, and the reason I won't be enrolling at the University of Alabama is because I didn't meet the NCAA requirements but I look forward to enjoying my time at JUCO and continue to build and grind on not only my talent, but my education, it's an alternate route but what God has ordained, it’s for me.”
A four-star prospect out of Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker, Jones committed to Alabama in May 2015 over Baylor, LSU and Texas, among others.
Standing at 6-foot-5, 375 pounds, Jones was rated the No. 12 defensive tackle and the No. 93 overall player in the 2016 class, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Alabama latest to offer Murphy defensive lineman Neil Farrell
Alabama officially joined the chase for Murphy 2017 defensive lineman Neil Farrell on Tuesday. Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban offered the 6-foot-4.5, 298-pound Farrell following a camp in Tuscaloosa.
"Neil is Neil," Murphy coach Rick Cauley said. "He took it and was very happy about out. But if you don't know him, you wouldn't be able to tell. He is a very quiet, unassuming guy. It was a good day, a really good day. I thought all three of our guys did well."
Farrell was joined at the camp by teammates Kendric Haynes (2017 LB) and Maurice Robinson (2018 QB). Neither of those guys received Alabama offers on Tuesday, though Robinson did receive some personal instruction from Saban at an unusual spot.
"Coach Saban met with Maurice and worked him out at defensive back," Cauley said. "I think he did pretty well, and he got some individual coaching from Saban, which I understand is rare."
Cauley said Haynes had a good day as well, though he didn't add a Tide offer to his list at this time. In addition to Alabama, Farrell's offers now include Clemson, Michigan, Southern Cal, South Carolina, Florida, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Troy and South Alabama.
"I don't think we've had a Murphy player with an Alabama offer since maybe (former Florida receiver) Solomon Patton, and I can't remember a Murphy player on scholarship at Alabama since maybe Willie Gaston," Cauley said. "I am pretty sure we haven't had one since the 1990s."
Farrell told AL.com last week that he was wide open in his recruitment and hoped to take visits to Southern Cal, Florida, Michigan and South Carolina this summer. As a junior, he finished with 86 tackles, including 17 for a loss, and was an AL.com Coastal Alabama first-team selection.

So if things go our way with Benton's announcement, we will have landed three players in one week.

Alabama lost defensive linemen Jarran Reed and A’Shawn Robinson to the NFL Draft this past season. Jonathan Allen is a senior and Da’Shawn Hand could potentially declare for the draft after this year. Kendell Jones, a four-star defensive tackle signee in the 2016 class, won’t enroll at Alabama after failing to qualify. Needless to say, depth on the defensive line is thin. But for Isaiah Buggs, that’s a good thing. Buggs, a three-star defensive lineman from Mississippi Gulf Coast College who is considered the team’s No. 1 junior college target, is strongly considering Alabama because of the team’s thin depth chart.
“Looking at their roster and seeing they’re losing everybody helps because they’re looking for someone who can step in immediately and be that guy,” Buggs told SEC Country. “Considering that I only have two years of eligibility left to play, that means I have to find somewhere where I can come in right away and play.”
Alabama is looking at Buggs at both defensive tackle and defensive end. The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder said he closely examines who’s on the defensive lines of the teams he considers.
“It’s all about looking at the roster and seeing who will be returning and who is coming in because you want to play right away,” Buggs said.
Buggs said he will “definitely” take an official visit to Alabama at some point during the season. He claims no leaders at this point, but he did say the Tide was in that top group. It’s a good thing that a decision doesn’t have to be made right now for Buggs, because he has no idea which school he’d attend if he had to make up his mind today.
“It’s a really hard decision for me,” Buggs said. “If signing day was today, I would probably have to extend my recruitment some more because I have no idea what I want to do. I’m just ready to work hard when I do choose that school and make sure my name is known.”
Buggs will be a midyear graduate, which means he’ll graduate from Mississippi Gulf Coast in December and will be able to enroll in the school of his choice this January.
