National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons says: "Devonta Smith is really starting to come into his own as a wide receiver. He was labeled as an athlete early with some talk of playing defense in college, but he solidified himself as a five star prospect and one of the top play-makers in the country. He makes things look simple. I watched him live twice this spring and he is explosive, he has excellent body control, his hands are reliable, and he is always one snap away from breaking the big one. He is being compared to (New York Giants receiver) Odell Beckham Jr. because, like Beckham Jr., he is from Louisiana. Smith could be a first-round pick in the NFL come 2020.
Recruitment update: Smith was committed to Georgia, but he opened things up and he says there is no leader. Alabama is thought to be the front-runner with Florida State likely running No. 2. LSU usually keeps its top talent in state, but Smith, looks to be headed out of the Boot State.

National Recruiting Analyst Greg Powers says: "Marvin Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 329-pound defensive tackle from Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal, dominates every camp and combine he attends and this was certainly the case at The Opening Houston, where he earned an invitation to The Opening Finals in Beaverton, Ore., with yet another powerful showing in the one-on-one battles. The five-star has the size and quickness to be a versatile weapon up front and offensive linemen have a hard time keeping him contained."
Recruitment update: Wilson has offers and is considering schools like Alabama, LSU, Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and a host of others

National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn says: "Chase Young was so dominant at The Opening Regional Washington, D.C., he was elevated to five-star status after it. He is incredibly quick off the ball, plays with great balance and his speed around the edge made him nearly impossible to stop. He was also quick with his hands and he was able to mix in an array of moves. At 6-foot-5, 226 pounds, his length also gives offensive linemen difficulties, and his flexibility and ability to get low allows him to win the leveral battle."
Recruitment update: Young continues to take his time with his recruitment with a top 15, but a few of the schools to keep an eye on are Ohio State, Alabama and Maryland. Florida, Notre Dame, USC, Clemson, LSU and Michigan are also heavily involved but do not expect a decision until after his senior season.

Don't count on Wilson. Ole Miss is VERY confident despite what's going on with the Ncaa. Think Greg Little.

It's amazing that Ole Miss doesn't even slow down. It's like the NCAA is giving them warnings, but Ole Miss doesn't care.

Until the NCAA shows that they are going to do something, why shouldn't every program cheat their asses off?

Ole Miss boosters claim Akers is a private commitment. Who knows what the NCAA investigation will change.

We've had several recent CBs for Jack West.

OM peops have been expecting a public commitment from him since February.

Yeah. The investigation could sway a few guys our way. But I think Wilson will go to the highest bidder. I know that type of comment isn't very popular on this board, but that's the general sentiment from a lot of people.

If the NCAA doesn't slam Ole Miss, then it's going to get a lot more wild than the Southwest Conference.

Since when has Louisiana been known as the "Boot State"?

Alabama extended an offer to 2018 receiver Will Mallory of Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence on Thursday night, according to his Twitter account.
The son of former Michigan linebacker Mike Mallory, who is currently an assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Will adds the offer to a growing list that includes the Wolverines, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and South Carolina, among others.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, Mallory has yet to receive a player rating, and is currently trending to UM at 100 percent on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

We got a CB for Maleik Gray.

Yeah, it's almost a lock that we land him at this point. Unless something changes, he's all Bama!

Yeah, I'm not confident at all on Wilson. I'm hoping to flip Shelvin cause we need a dominant dt bad in this class. Also tart-spencer.

Jack West is all Bama! The only other school that has a slight chance is Stanford. Let's hope he's not smart enough to get in to Stanford. Lol West and Aj McCarron have been real good friends gor yrs.

I'm not saying they don't know each other and that an acquaintance type relationship doesn't exits, but AJ is a 25 year old man who spend 5 years in college and has been in NFL for 2 years. West is a HS junior (to be). The age difference is like 8-9 years. How have they been "friends" for years?
