Another LB from Houston Jeffrey McCulloch is also down to 5 with an NSD decision:

Alabama
Notre Dame
Stanford
Texas
Texas A&M

His OV is also set for this weekend to Alabama and one next weekend to Texas A&M.

It appears that Texas is in good shape with both Jackson and McCulloch who have talked about playing together but I wouldn't be surprised to see us get one or both should we lose out on Wilson.

Not sure if this is Germans or not. I went back 5 pages and did not see anything posted about this.

Prepare yourself for the biggest finish

Mecole Hardman added Ohio State to his list of finalists that already includes Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Michigan and Tennessee. He will take his OV to Alabama this weekend and then announce on NSD.

SIAP but BOL believes that we have a firm lead for Keith Gavin following his OV. He takes his FSU OV this weekend.

Pruitt could honestly take Dan Akroid's place in the cone heads and not miss a beat.

From the Auburn recruiting thread:

quote:

5* DT Derrick Brown - 6'4 317lb
quote:
Fellow defensive lineman David Marshall, who visited Auburn over the weekend, said he believes the Buford, Georgia native is leaning toward Mississippi State, Georgia and Auburn.

"We talked about coach Steele and we talked about Georgia a little bit," Marshall said. "I really want him to come here, especially Antwuan Jackson, Marlon (Davidson) and all them. We'd be a great group."

Academics have weighed heavily on Brown's decision process, too. He plans to major in busienss and once said Tennessee and Georgia's business schools stood out. He placed Auburn's business program in the same category following his visit this weekend.

"It was big for me [Saturday] to go talk to the business side," Brown said. "I got to talk a little bit briefly in the spring but they explained the whole nine yards with us yesterday. We got to see everything."

Brown will take official visits to Georgia and Tennessee, respectively, on the final two weekends before signing day on Feb. 3.

Garner will have an in-home visit with Brown on Wednesday and Malzahn plans to visit the lineman in his home on the final week of the recruiting period.

Alabama made its pitch for Florida State RB commit Amir Rasul over the weekend LINK

quote:

Rasul, a four-star running back who is from Miami and committed to Florida State, made the trip with his mother. He said "the whole staff was amazing," citing relationships with head coach Nick Saban and running backs coach Burton Burns.

"We felt as though they made me one of their top priorities for the 2016 class," Rasul said. "Coach Saban was amazing. He made me feel no stress. Most of the coaches I talk to want me to hurry up and commit, but he's like 'whatever happens is going to happen. If you come here, you'll have a good opportunity at success and at winning football games and to be able to do what you want to do at life.'
quote:

"My Florida State commitment is still solid, 100 percent," Rasul said. "I'm really considering Alabama."
quote:

This was also Rasul's first trip to Tuscaloosa.

"I thought the weather was going to be terrible, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be," Rasul said. "The visit really shocked me. I felt like I was in a different element because of the weather and people.

"It was cool. It was real cool."
