SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Tulsa (Okla.) Union cornerback Tre Brown holds offers from Louisville, Tulsa and Arkansas State. More are likely to come and while checking in at the U.S. Army Combine, Brown noted that Alabama and Houston were the two schools he was hearing the most from recently.
For the Cougars, it's Oklahoma native Derek Warehime that Brown communicates with the most. For Alabama, Billy Napier has maintained regular communication.
At 5-10, 177 pounds, Brown isn't a big cornerback, but he is fast. With 10.5 speed in the 100 meters, Brown is one of the fastest prospects in the 2017 class.
An Oklahoma offer would be a big one for Brown. So too would be an offer from Oregon ("that was just kind of my dream school," he said.)
Arkansas and TCU are also schools that have impressed Brown in the early going.
"When I visited them, they really stood out to me," he said.

You're not going to strike out on Knott unless State goes Chris Jones on him. I think Davis was going to flip until Diaz happened.
You don't think OM will try to lock him up if y'all strike out on Carter?

No. Sadly he's not coming to ole miss.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - With offers from East Carolina, UNC-Charlotte and Appalachian State in hand, class of 2017 safety Brelin Faison-Walden picked up a big one late in the college football season when Alabama extended an offer his way from coach Bo Davis. The offer was big for Faison-Walden.
"Honestly, I cried a little bit," Faison-Walden said. "That's everyone's dream to have an SEC offer. I came up dreaming about an Alabma offer with all the players they send to the NFL. That was the first time even hearing from them."
Alabama is recruiting Faison-Walden at safety or possibly outside linebacker. At 6-1, 197-pounds out of the class of 2017 the Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley product could project at a number of positions. He's been starting for his high school since his freshman season and he has played defensive end, middle linebacker, outside linebacker, safety, running back and cornerback.
Other schools that Faison-Walden identifies as "dream offers" are Oregon, Florida, Auburn and "any SEC school or ACC school."
Faison-Walden will take in junior days at Virginia Tech, North Carolina (January 23rd) and Alabama this spring. Charlie Wiles has been Faison-Walden's recruiter at Virginia Tech under both coaching staffs.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The first player to check in Thursday morning for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl National Combine may be the best player.
Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s five-star running back D’Andre Swift.
Swift shined at this event last year and the junior looks to take home top player honors from Friday’s combine inside the Alamo Dome. He is ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 1 running back in the 2017 class and the No. 18 player overall.
Alabama: Swift noted that he grew up a fan of Alabama.
“They produce so many good players in the NFL and their players are never in trouble and down to business and Coach Saban keeps all the players on track.”

Didn't I read somewhere Knott's father played safety at Ole Miss?
If so, what happened?

Receivers/Tight Ends
— Tight end Devin Asiasi was very much involved in the offensive game plan on Thursday. The USC, Alabama, Washington and UCLA target did a nice job of getting open and gaining separation against some linebackers and safeties. He also showed soft hands and was a nice weapon in the redzone.

3. Elberton (Ga.) Elbert County’s Mecole Hardman Jr. was once again working with the offense on Thursday after spending the first practice with the defense. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect was a big part of the East offense getting a variety of touches on screens, swing passes and jet sweeps. Hardman Jr. appears to be the most explosive athlete with the ball in his hands for the East.

Marvin Wilson has the size, ability, star power and adult beard that Alabama's last big-time signee from Texas had in A'Shawn Robinson.
Now, Alabama coaches are telling the class of 2017 recruit that he could be the next Robinson, the star junior who has anchored a talented defensive line toward Monday's national championship game against Clemson and a top NFL prospect.
The 6-foot-4, 316-pound Wilson is a product of Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas, near Houston.
He's rated as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2017 per the 247Sports composite rankings. He is the top defensive tackle prospect and the top Texas prospect.
Wilson took an unofficial visit to Alabama last fall for the game against Tennessee.
"They see me coming in just like A'Shawn, just like him," Wilson told AL.com recently at the Future 50 Underclassmen Showcase in Orlando. "I have the build just like him, I have the athleticism and people see me coming in just like him."
And, he gets mistaken for someone much older than 17.
"Because of the beard and stuff like that," Wilson said.
Wilson said he'd drop his top 10 before his senior season starts, but look for Alabama to be in it and look for the Crimson Tide to be in the mix all the way until Signing Day 2017, when he makes his college decision.
Oklahoma, Florida State, LSU, USC and UCLA are other schools that stand out early, Wilson said.

SAN ANTONIO — Thursday was the last significant practice for the Army All-American Bowl before the game on Saturday. A few of the usual suspects stood out but there were some new faces that made their presence felt.

7. DB Nigel Warrior, Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge
Recruiting Wrap: Warrior has a top four of Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee. He plans to make his decision on National Signing Day.
Performance: The 5-foot-11, 189-pound Warrior is ranked as the No. 7 safety in the 2016 class, but he made his presence felt at the cornerback position during Thursday’s practice. Warrior showed great speed by staying with the East’s fastest receiver, Mecole Hardman, down the field and breaking up a pass. He was also excellent in run support where he was seen stringing running backs out to the sideline.

SAN ANTONIO -- The West squad took the field at Comalander Stadium in the Blossom Athletic Center for the third day of practice. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is just a few days away, and the West worked in full pads during the two-hour session. Plays were made by several, and now it is time to see whose stock did what.

3. TE Devin Asiasi, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle
Recruiting wrap: Asiasi visited UCLA before the dead period and has trips to Washington (Jan. 15), Alabama (Jan. 22) and USC (Jan. 29) remaining before National Signing Day.
Performance: The massive prospect is one of the biggest players on the roster yet he moves remarkably well down field and through his routes. Asiasi has been a favorite for the West quarterbacks throughout the week and that continued Thursday, especially in the red zone. He had a couple nice grabs near the goal line where he could use his size to beat defenders.

5. WR Tyler Vaughns, La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat
Recruiting wrap: Vaughns is committed to USC but is considering an official visit to Alabama as well.
Performance: Another prospect that has been pushing for five-star status, Vaughns had an impressive showing against a tough secondary. He gains separation with ease and is a threat on underneath routes as well as over the top. The future Trojan glides through space and showed a great feel for how to offset coverages.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — SEC Country is in San Antonio this week for the U.S. Army All-American game where some of the best high school players in the country are showcased.
Alabama has several recruiting targets participating in the game, and we have predicted where a few of them will play college football.
In the video above, you’ll find our predictions on some of the elite targets the Crimson Tide are hoping to land.

Jeffrey Simmons: Down to TN, Ala, MSU, OM: Crimson Tide hold edge. Told whoever this guy is that Alabama is the top program in the country and likes that some depth could be going to the NFL
Derrick Brown: Told SEC Country that Alabama visit was great, but they still think UGA holds the overwhelming lead. This is because of Rocker.
Nigel Warrior: Doesn't have a relationship with Pruitt, UGA trending upward, SEC Country thinks he stays instate and goes to UGA.
Mecole Hardman: Told everyone Alabama was the leader but SEC Country thinks he likes to play around with his recruitment. Still thinks he stays instate and goes to UGA.
Thinks Derrick Brown is the most CFB ready and will make the biggest impact right away at wherever he goes.
Well that's a ton of fun, but yeah that's what the video says. Man I hope Mecole makes a gut decision if we win the Natty and commits to Alabama.

"What I like Alabama is that they're a very big, versatile team," Juarez said. "They play for and win national championships and playing for (head coach) Nick Saban would be really something.
"The reason I really like them is that they have the best defensive tackles. They plug up the holes so the linebackers would never get touched and be able to make a lot of big plays."
"Once I've been out there, I can get a feel of 'do I like them?'" Juarez said. "What makes UCLA and Ole Miss in my top two is that I've been out there, I like them and enjoy them.
"I'm still undecided. I'm not leaning toward any school. Ole Miss and UCLA, I could go 'eeny meeny miny moe' with those schools."
"If I like Alabama, I like Alabama," he said. "If not, I have those two schools."
"If I'm good, I'm going to play at the next level," Juarez said. "If I'm not, I'm going to have my education and major (kinesiology or business, he said).
"The next level will be there for me. I'm looking at if I can have a good time in college for the next three or four years with my teammates."

"I'm really going to announce it on Signing Day. I've got a lot of thinking to do with my family and coaches."
Simmons has a great relationship with Alabama defensive line coach Bo Davis, who paid him a visit in December.
"They tell me I have a good chance to come in and play right off with all the guys they're losing," Simmons said. "Especially Coach Davis. I have a great relationship with him. He tells me I can come in and play. "I just feel like he's straight up with me. He never changes. Ever since he started recruiting me, he's told me the same things."
Simmons said he's excited about the chance to play early, but, "I know, myself, I have a lot of work to do to get on the field."
Simmons said he doesn't think he's done growing yet and could play in college in the 290-pound range. That could force teams to move him inside, which is something he's prepared for. Simmons is looking for the place where he best fits in.
"Just that relationship with some of the players when I take my official, can I make that relationship and can I really fit in?" Simmons said. "It's good to have a relationship with the coaches, but at the same time, coaches leave and come. As long as I can get the relationship with the school, it's something to build on.

"It was really great going out there and seeing the whole atmosphere and the environment," Asiasi said. "It's crazy out there. For me, it's the hospitality. Everybody treats you well and everybody's good people."
Asiasi's favorable impressions of Alabama? "The environment, my three-year plan to graduate, the positions coach and the pathway to the NFL," he said. Asiasi has a top five of USC, Alabama, Michigan, Washington and UCLA, and he said all five are even. He's planning a Jan. 29 visit to USC and said he'd possibly visit Washington and Michigan in January.
Asiasi said Williams "is a good guy, and when we talk, he's telling me what he can do with me. They can do a lot of stuff with the schemes they run with O.J. (Howard), that's stuff they can run with me," Asiasi said. "I can do a lot of blocking and being in the trenches and can add that part to their game.
"I see a great opportunity going over there. It's one of the top programs in the nation, obviously. It's one of the top programs in the country. They're pretty high on my list." The 6-foot-4, 269-pound Asiasi said he talks to Lupoi nearly every day. He plans a Signing Day decision.
