Nick Coe. Remember that name well. An absolute beast that our staff highly covets. One of the top 3 DL nationally on our board. He'll be in our signing class if our staff is able to.

Florida earned the commitment of Miami (Fla.) Norland linebacker Vosean Joseph nearly 11 months ago. Now the 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect says he will take an official visit to Alabama on January 15. The lead recruiter for the Crimson Tide on Joseph is Miami native Mario Cristobal, a big reason Joseph plans to see Tuscaloosa. The recent push from Alabama has the Florida commit strongly considering the Crimson Tide.

ETA: I really like the way this kid plays.

From a Florida fan over on there 247 site regarding Joseph and Mack Wilson:
I gotta say, I kind of agree with him. And that's with us potentially still landing Wilson.

IMO Mack Wilson has bust all over him, while Joseph is the typical South Florida 3* prospect that ends up a first rounder in 3-4 years.
Careful what you wish for.

BOL on Raekwon Davis:
quote:
While Davis has kept things open, and listened to other programs, the source told us, “Raekwon knows where he wants to go” implying that the four-star defensive tackle was solid with Alabama.

Joseph has great timing. This is the first I have heard of him.

If he were about twenty five to thirty pounds heavier, and he still maintained that quickness, he'd be pushing for five star status IMO.

Isn't he committed to the barn. How hard are we pushing and how much is he listening?

Yeah he looks like a beast. His anticipation skills are off the chart.

We are due to flip a Fl commit. After losing the kicker to them you can bet the house Saban and staff have someone in mind they want to pluck from Fl. Happens almost every year when we lose a guy to a school we take one of theirs.

Running back James Cook (Miami/Central) picked up an offer from Alabama.
Florida State, LSU and Miami have also offered.
The Crystal Ball reads 100-percent for Florida State for the younger brother of Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook.
James Cook is one of the top prospects in the country in the 2019 class.

Sounds about right.
Wilson has talent players dream about, but when those practices end and game starts, where does he go?
I still hope they land him, but I(and seemingly the staff as well) have accepted he's going to UF. Attacking AL as a recruiting base is something McElwain was smart enough to do, this is very much a rich football state. Glad more don't.
Interested in seeing if any of these late offers pay off...

Raekwon Davis hears the chatter. The 6-foot-7 defensive lineman from Meridian, Miss., has been committed to Alabama since before his junior season, but the talk has him signing elsewhere.
"But they don't know what I'm thinking," Davis said at a U.S. Army All-America media session in San Antonio on Wednesday. "I don't just put myself out there and burst stuff out on Twitter about where I'm going or what I'm thinking."
Davis has gone from a raw prospect with great size to a 6-foot-7, 327-pound force. He showed out at The Opening's national and regional camp along with performing well in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game.
But while he's still committed to Alabama, he's looking at other schools. He said he doesn't have his visit schedule yet, but Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, Florida State and Miami are in the mix
"It stands really decent," Davis said of his Alabama commitment. "I'm still trying to weigh out my options and still looking around. I'm still open, but I'm still committed to Alabama."
Of his talks with Alabama coaches, he said, "I have great communication with those guys. I have great communication with the coaches."
The nation's No. 87 overall prospect did admit he has academic work to do, but is confident he'll be a qualifier.
"I can't afford visits during the week because of school days. I've still got work to do," he said.
Davis will likely make his final decision close to Signing Day on Feb. 3.
"If I pick a school, they've got to be a school I feel comfortable with," Davis said. "Academics have to be great for me. I have to feel like I'm at home and that I love it."
But Davis also anticipates a hard month of January while weighing his options.
"I know colleges are going to be mad at my decision, but it's about me and where I want to go," Davis said.
Davis will play for the West team in Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The game kicks off at noon from the Alamodome and will be televised by NBC.

Joseph is a 3 star. He is as good as ours.

He'd certainly be a good one to pick up.
I read on one Florida board that his knee injury is a Meniscus tear so it's nothing major.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Shortly after his official visit to Alabama in December, Derrick Brown admitted that the Crimson Tide were in a better place to land his services.
Brown, a five-star defensive tackle from Lanier High School (Buford, Ga.), told SEC Country during a media session at the U.S. Army All-American game that he’s still high on the Tide because, for one, the program is elite.
“You are going to sign with Alabama because — let me tell you the truth — you sign with Alabama because you want to play football at Alabama, get a degree and win national championships,” Brown said. “They get it done.”
Alabama is one of five schools duking it out for his signature on National Signing Day. Auburn and Georgia are believed to be the favorites to land him, while Mississippi State and Tennessee are likely long shots right now. The Crimson Tide are definitely in a good place when it comes to Brown.
Back in December, he was glowing about his first trip back to Tuscaloosa since April.
“The visit put them in a better place for me,” Brown said at the time. “That’s for sure. The state of the program is great. I enjoyed getting to sit down and talk with (Alabama defensive line coach Bo) Davis. Being able to hang out with (Alabama defensive lineman) Jonathan Allen was really cool, too.”
Brown, who plans on majoring in business marketing in college, will make the biggest business decision of his life in a little less than a month. Alabama fans are hoping that Brown has the Crimson Tide in his business plans.
He is rated as the nation’s No. 8 overall player and is the nation’s No. 3 defensive tackle.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Five-star outside linebacker Mique Juarez recently named Ole Miss and UCLA as the two schools he’s mainly focused on as his recruitment winds down, but do not count out Alabama just yet.
Juarez, the nation’s No. 2 outside linebacker, will take an official visit to Alabama on Jan. 22, and that could shake things up.
“Most likely, I think so. It could open my eyes,” Juarez told SEC Country about that trip possibly changing his mind. “Really, I want to see how the players act even if they win the championship or not. I want to see the way they act and how the coaches really are.”
The 6-foot-2, 231-pounder said Crimson Tide outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi is recruiting him to play the “money” position, which is a hybrid linebacker. It’s the position Juarez wants to play at the next level.
“Coach Lupoi told me I’d be playing that money backer position. That’s the consideration,” Juarez said. “The defensive tackles they have over there are vicious guys that can open some holes and make some plays. That’s why I’m really considering (Alabama). You want to make some plays in the backfield. Who doesn’t want to? That’s why I’m really considering it. And playing for coach (Nick) Saban, that is a great guy.”
Following his visit to Alabama, Juarez says he will reevaluate his recruitment and determine which school is the best fit overall.
“If I like Alabama, I might go to Alabama,” Juarez said. “If I don’t like Ole Miss anymore and I just lost feelings, then I’ll look at just UCLA and Alabama. It’s just how I’ll feel.”

After swinging and missing on prized 4-star tackle Jean Delance, LSU has turned its attention to another big offensive tackle.
LSU extended an offer to 4-star tackle Alex Leatherwood of Washington High School (Pensacola, Fla.) Leatherwood is an Alabama commit for the Class of 2017.

Leatherwood is considered a hard Alabama commit, as he pledged to the Crimson Tide back in June.
LSU has two offensive lineman commits in its 2016 recruiting class: 4-star guard Donavaughn Campbell (Ponchatoula, La.), and 3-star tackle Jakori Savage (Bay Minette, Ala.)
The 6-foot-4.5, 297-pound lineman is rated as the nation’s No. 19 offensive tackle and the No. 18 prospect from Florida for 2017.
