The 16th annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl will be played at San Antonio’s Alamodome on Jan. 9. Here are five storylines Rivals.com analysts will be watching heading into the week of practices leading up to Saturday’s game.

2. Recruiting Developments
Year after year prospects use the national television stage of the Army Bowl to announce their college selections, but recruiting news is made even by those players planning to stretch their recruitments longer. Five-star linebacker Mique Juarez is the highest-ranked uncommitted prospect in the Army Bowl. He will be joined by fellow five-star uncommitted prospects Demetris Robertson, Mecole Hardman Jr., Caleb Kelly and Isaac Nauta.
Nauta is one of those who plans to announce his college selection during the Army Bowl telecast and Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro cornerback Byron Murphy has also noted in the past that an Army Bowl decision is a possibility. USC and Texas were the two big winners of Army Bowl announcements last year, each grabbing two new additions during the game’s telecast. The Trojans would keep that momentum heading into National Signing Day, ultimately signing the No. 1 class.

Very high praises for A.J. Brown in all those reports. We should go all in for him.
A.J. Brown
Knott
Davis
D. Brown
??? (surprise)
All of these would make a nice finish

Seeing on Twitter where Cavin has decommitted from USCe.

Reminds me of that OT we had committed last year.

I honestly would rather have AJ Brown. I think we lose one of those 3* commitments anyways so it may not matter. I hope we get Brown badly though

I wonder if he wants to enroll early, but Bama doesn't have room, and now he has decided that enrolling early isn't that important. I'm just tossing shite out there, I have no idea what's going on, it's just strange

What fricking tweet was this?
When has Saban ever promised a recruit a starting job?
It came from that "InsideBamaRecruiting" account, a kid who floods recruit's DMs.
And now sites are sourcing his butchered tweets...
Was it our famed wunderkind Eric?

Cavin Ridley signed his decommitment statement as Cavin.

I think this was the issue because we still do not know who was declaring early or transferring. If we take him now and he is an EE I am sure we will find out soon about a transfer or NFL declare.

OJ Howard maybe?

Here's a little excerpt of what Tim Watts just posted:
It appears playing time is Big to Ridley
quote:
I'm not sure I'm saying anything that is surprising here but Ridley is obviously a confused guy.
For most of the recruiting process he has been considered a lock for Bama. Obviously his brother being on campus and having a huge year was a major part of that. But also he's familiar with the Bama staff and campus and earned his scholarship for which he was proud. This is a kid the UA staff likes and believes will be a good SEC receiver. He did very well in camp.
Two things are working against UA one being he was considered a lock to UA but also having to compete with his brother (at least in his( mind factored in. A source close to Cavin said Alabama didn't treat him like a lock or "done deal" but everyone around him did. Also hurting the Tide was instant playing time and Cavin isn't sure he can step in right away and compete with the Tide's starting returners.
Alabama does have some things working in its favor with Calvin and some close family relatives who want him at the Capstone.

From an "insider" on BOL:
Stinks about Mack Wilson and Simmons.
quote:
I've gathered some pretty reliable information about how things stand, and how they might shake out. As anyone knows, these situations are always fluid, but this is all pretty accurate as to where things stand right now. Some of these have been alluded to by our staff, so I'm not necessarily saying this is all breaking news.
1) The reason Cavin Ridley's situation is hectic is because he's basically been told, that due to spots being limited, he can't enroll early.
2) AJ Brown is "by far" the #1 target on the board at WR, and Keith Gavin is right there at 2. AJ Brown is currently 50/50 with Alabama and MSU. This is the main reason that we can't take Ridley as an early enrollee, and also why Tyler Simmons jumped on his offer 2 days ago.
3) Terrell Hall was viewed as a silent commit before Smart took the job at UGA. He is still favoring Alabama slightly, but there is work to do on him for Jeremy Pruitt.
4) Jeffrey Simmons has informed those close to him that he intends on signing with Ole Miss. Not sure why he hasn't made it public.
5) Ben Davis will be a part of this class. In the end, nothing will be able to pry him away.
6) Mack Wilson is likely UF bound because they have commitments from several of his Montgomery area friends. He loves Alabama, but Florida has literally pulled out all of the stops in getting his friends offers to UF. This isn't a done deal, though.
7) Texas LB Jeff McCulloch has serious interest in Alabama. His visit late in January will make things very interesting. The same applies to Dontavious Jackson. The feeling is that they both won't end up at Texas.
8) With the RB haul we have for 2017, the staff doesn't feel like adding another to this class is completely necessary. They really like what they have in BJ Emmons. D'Vaughn Pennamon and LaMichael Perine are the top targets.
9) Mecole Hardman Jr. is now the #1 target at CB. He loves Pruitt, and the feeling is that he will likely end up signing with Alabama. Nigel Knott has been a little all over the place, and it's impossible to predict who he favors.
10) At Safety, Shyheim Carter and Nigel Warrior are the only guys left that the staff will take a commit on. The staff feels a little better about Carter, due to his relationship with Pruitt.
Anyways, nothing here is meant to take any thunder away from the BOL staff, as they have done a great job. Just thought I would pass along.
Stinks about Mack Wilson and Simmons.

I wonder if Ridley will wait and see if we sign AJ Brown.

I assumed he was a take no matter what

I definitely think he is a take no matter what, but he might not want to sign on if we pull the upset with AJ Brown.
