The nation’s No. 1 athlete, Mecole Hardman, Jr., is heading to Alabama this week for the LSU game on an unofficial visit.
“I’m looking forward to that,” Hardman said. “That’s my first time ever seeing an Alabama game at their home stadium live. I’m really not going to it with any high expectations. I just want to be shocked.”
The senior feels Tennessee is the best fit for him offensively, but his decision will be based on more than that. He realizes his ceiling in pro football will likely be at cornerback because there aren’t too many 5-foot-11 receivers getting picked in the first round of the NFL Draft.
“Defensively wise, Alabama is the best fit for me because of the schemes they run,” Hardman said. “They play a lot of man. I think I fit that scheme perfectly.”
UGA is also a major contender. Hardman feels that the Bulldogs offer a good marriage of playing on both sides of the ball and they’ve also let him know he will play early.
The 5-star prospect from Georgia’s Elbert County High School is a high school quarterback but wants to play receiver and defensive back in college. Hardman also wants to play early and return kicks.
It may sound like a bit of sacrilege to Crimson Tide ears, but he has the burst, quickness and top-end speed that conjure up images of what Alabama legend David Palmer did during his high school days at Birmingham’s Jackson-Olin High School.
Hardman has already visited Miami (Fla.) and has also settled on an official visit to Michigan for the Ohio State game weekend. He’s also planning official visits to TCU and Oregon at this time.
He has visited UGA and Tennessee more than all his other favorites combined. He’s so familiar with those options he won’t take an official to either school.
That’s also why he is just taking an unofficial visit to Alabama at this time.

The Crimson Tide and Bayou Bengals have long battled over the country’s top recruits. Both campuses located in hotbeds of high school football; year after year it seems elite-level prospects have both Alabama and LSU among their final schools, if not their two finalists.
Saturday will likely see well over 100 recruits on campus, similar to the Ole Miss recruiting turnout. Here, BamaOnline takes a look at five current recruiting battles between Bama and LSU that are planning to be in attendance for the game.
quote:
Rashard Lawrence, 5-star DT, Monroe (La.) Neville – Lawrence has long been a priority target of the Tide’s in the 2016 cycle. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound prospect has long been trending to the Tigers at 100 percent on the Crystal Ball, and with Ohio State making a late push, it appears Alabama may not be in as great of position as it once was earlier in the spring. However, there is a long way to go in this one. One constant in Lawrence’s recruitment is his strong relationship with defensive tackles coach Bo Davis.

quote:
Gregory Little, 5-star OT, Allen (Texas) – Since Little de-committed from Texas A&M over the summer, Ole Miss and Alabama became the programs projected to land the nation’s No. 1 tackle. LSU has enjoyed some recent momentum after having Little on campus for an official visit for the Florida game. The 6-foot-5.5, 305-pound Little pushed his commitment date back to Nov. 13 in order to officially visit Tuscaloosa on Saturday. While it appears it will likely still come down to the Rebels and the Tide, the Tigers remain a contender. The Lone Star State prospect is trending to Bama at 51 percent on the Crystal Ball.
Posted on 11/2/15 at 10:29 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Devin White, 4-star RB, Springhill (La.) North Webster – Alabama is looking to add one more running back this cycle and has honed in on White as its top target. The 6-foot-0.5, 258-pound White wowed at The Opening over the summer, running a 4.4-second forty-yard dash. Like Lawrence, White has long been trending to LSU on the Crystal Ball. The Composite No. 5 athlete will make an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa for the game before returning after the season for an official. Running backs coach Burton Burns and White have meshed from the beginning and have forged a very strong relationship. Burns recently watched White play. Expect White’s recruitment to go the distance, but for now it appears to be an Alabama, LSU and Arkansas battle.
Posted on 11/2/15 at 10:29 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Mykel Jones, 4-star WR, Patterson (La.) – Jones has emerged as a priority target after visiting Tuscaloosa in July. The four-star receiver named the Tide in his top four that includes Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee, and has returned to campus on numerous occasions since. Jones is former teammates with Alabama freshman receiver Daylon Charlot. BOL has recently reported that the Tide feels good about its shot with the Bayou State product as it looks to add at least two to three more receivers in the cycle. Jones is currently trending to Alabama at 62 percent on the Crystal Ball.
Posted on 11/2/15 at 10:30 pm to TideSaint
quote:
Dare Rosenthal, 4-star OT, Ferriday (La.) – Even though Rosenthal has been committed to Alabama for almost six months, LSU remains a serious contender to flip the 2018 tackle. Rosenthal committed to Bama on the spot when offered back in May before receiving an LSU offer at a camp in June. While the No. 3 tackle, per 247Sports, has remained a firm pledge since his decision, the Tigers will likely turn up the heat on Rosenthal in the coming years. The UA commit is trying to make it out to Tuscaloosa for the game, his first of the season. LSU holds 100 percent of Rosenthal’s picks on the Crystal Ball.

Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep athlete Demetris Robertson added a fifth star (from No. 32 to No. 27 overall) following the latest updates to the recruiting industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings. He becomes the fourth five-star from the Peach State, joining Lanier Buford DT Derrick Brown (No. 8), Lawrenceville Archer WR Kyle Davis (No. 20) and Elberton Elbert County ATH Mecole Hardman Jr. (No. 21).
Georgia is now tied with California behind Florida and Texas (five each) for most 247Sports Composite five-star prospects in the 2016 class. Four of Florida’s five-stars are at IMG Academy and two of those previously played in Georgia (TE Isaac Nauta) and Louisiana (QB Shea Patterson).
All four of Georgia’s five-star prospects are uncommitted at this time, and Robertson – a U.S. Army All-American who was previously committed to Alabama – has 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions to Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and Stanford.

Since we have offered Perine, I wonder if we are having doubts about getting Emmons qualified.

Or we have doubts about landing that second RB. We are losing two RBs after this year. We really should sign three this year with Henry and Drake gone and Flowers not qualifying from this past class.

I hope it's just more of a they don't feel good about other prospects.
I pounded the table months back about offering Lamical, coming from a super talented family.
His cousins are Samaje Perine at OU and Myles Jack at UCLA. Should have just let Samaje commit, no way he turns Bama down as a native and fan.
Lamical's dad TJ played DT at Vigor HS, and later Auburn. Grandfather was a longtime coach at the former too.
And he's also related to FIU DE Denzell Perine as well, Mobile native. Currently tied for 6th in TFL and 10th in sacks for C-USA.

Well thats funny. About a year ago i posted on his youtube highlights saying how great he looked and how he looked like a Bama type back. Since his OSU committment i have been getting quite a few hate responses from the OSU fans. May have to go look a few of them up.
