We didn't want the number two player in the country anyway. Committable offer rescinded.

Yeah, what would we do with another five star OT anyway?
I called this back in July when he decommitted from TAMU. I like our chances when it's between us and TAMU. I never do when it's between us and OM.
FWIW, I've been reading a lot more on the recruiting websites about Landon Dickerson and Alabama. Perhaps he is our backup plan? LINK

Hank South CB'd Devin Asiasi to Bama. He also CB'd Trevon Diggs to Maryland, and Dontavious Jackson to Texas

Greg Little will be announcing on November 13th. He is scheduled to take his OV to Alabama for the LSU game now.

Little's desire to be in Tuscaloosa for a game influenced the decision to change the date, according to the report. Little will visit Alabama for the LSU game on Nov. 7, his fourth official visit. His fifth official will go to Ole Miss, likely after his final decision has been made.
The last sentence tells you all you need to know.

DJack has been a ghost for the past couple months. Doesn't seem like anybody knows anything about him. If we can get him back on campus, we liked our chances as of a few weeks ago.

The upcoming Alabama visit will be Little's fourth of five allowed. He said he is still working on scheduling a weekend to take his fifth visit to Ole Miss. Although his announcement will come before the final visit, Little said he's still interested in taking the trip.

Yeah it does, maybe it really is good news for Bama.

Could be either I will commit to Ole Miss but still want my OV or I am committing elsewhere but because of the relationships I have made there I promised I would still OV to them.

I'm a little surprised that we haven't had any commitments or rumors of silents this season.

Because we have reason to believe if he did shockingly sign with us, he would be ineligible anyway?

This is off the subject, but I'm hearing a little of everything on the DE Simmons from MS. One saying we've got him. One saying watch for MSU to be the one making the late charge, and not OM. And another saying OM has already bought him.
So I don't have anything reliable enough to go on. The one thing I have gathered is that our staff REALLY likes where we are with him right now. Moreso than with Little.
They also feel great about AJ Brown and Nigel Knott right now.
It's Mississippi, AKA the Wild West... AKA Texas in the early 80's (with SMU, Texas, and Switzer at Oklahoma). Until they are on our roster, none can be counted.

Meh. Same story, different recruit.
Simmons will visit us a ton, say all the right things, give all the right vibes, maybe even give a silent commitment. On NSD he will commit to a Landmass school, and we will be left with nothing at a much needed position. Highly ranked Landmass recruits don't leave the landmass to go to Alabama. Just like highly ranked Alabama recruits rarely leave the state.
Death, taxes, and getting Landmass'd. Three sure things in life as a Bama fan.
