65 Percent of five-stars in the 2016 class who are now uncommitted
Comparing that percentage to just 30 percent of four-star prospects in the 2016 class that are currently uncommitted and the effect of de-commitments among the five-star group is taking a huge toll. With less than four months until National Signing Day, 15 of the 23 five-stars are still unattached, setting the stage for a flurry of recruiting activity this winter that should have a major impact on the team recruiting rankings.
Of the eight five-star prospects currently committed to schools, most are solid. One very soft commitment, though, is running back Kareem Walker, who famously committed to Ohio State at halftime of last January's National Championship game. Walker recently took an official visit to the Buckeyes' rival, Michigan. Defensive tackle Marlon Davidson is also expected to take additional official visits after committing to Auburn last month.

466 Most days any 2016 five-star has been committed to one school
Only one five-star has been committed to a program for longer than a year, and that is quarterback Jacob Eason. The No. 10 prospect in the Rivals100, Eason pledged his services to Georgia on July 19, 2014. A native of Lake Stevens, Wash., Eason has remained solidly committed to the Bulldogs throughout and headlines their top 10 class.
The next-longest tenured five-star commitment is quarterback Malik Henry, who has been a part of Florida State's class for 344 days. Meanwhile, Marlon Davidson (48 days) and Ohio State defensive end commit Nick Bosa (90 days) are the most recent to issue pledges among the eight five-star commitments in the 2016 class.

20 Teams in the Top 25 of the 2016 rankings without a five-star commitment
Over the last five classes, an average of 14.2 schools ranked in the top 25 of the team recruiting rankings have signed at least one five-star. That number in the 2016 class currently stands at five. With 15 uncommitted five-stars, and the high likelihood that the number of five-stars increases during the final two evaluation periods for the 2016 class, the team recruiting rankings are likely to see a lot of volatility in the final three-plus months before National Signing Day.
Of the five schools ranked in the top 25 that have five-star commitments, Ohio State and Florida State are the only schools with more than one and rank Nos. 1 and 3, respectively. LSU, which sits at No. 2 in the current team recruiting rankings, does not have a five-star commitment, but is a legitimate contender for current five-stars Gregory Little, Shavar Manuel, Ben Davis, Daelin Hayes and Rashan Gary.
People just keep overlooking Alabama.

Cam Akers and Darius Maberry do most of the damage for the Arrows, accounting for a combined 244.4 yards rushing per game. The Vikings were one of a few teams that were able to limit Mississippi's top junior last season, but containing Akers is more than just slowing his ability to make plays with his feet.
"One thing I think that gets overlooked about (Akers) is he's a very, very accurate passer," Morgan said. "You can't just stack up and say we're going to stop him from running. The balls he throws are as accurate as we've seen."

Khalid Kareem committed to ND as expected.

Alabama has offered JUCO DE Jonathan Kongbo LINK
I wonder if this means we don't feel good about some of the other DEs on the board, or is this guy too good to pass up?

My favorite part about us possibly not getting the #1 ranked class is if LSU gets it we'll get to hear all about how LSU > Alabama after they get 1 recruiting class win over Bama after Bama had the #1 class for 5 straight years
They will be insufferable with their tdecline/tincline type post as well. They really are one of most bipolar fan bases and have a huge amount of wooly sheep homers. They have posters claiming BHarris will be a 1st round pick and would not trade him for any other qb in the nation. Plus all the post at how all their current players are much better than what is in the Bama roster and believe they will route Bama in a few weeks. Sorry for the off topic rant.
I haven't followed receuiting much this year, is this class going to be great or average (Bama standards- I know it would be great for everyone else).

Could be a depth thing too, despite getting these guys on the DL for 2016, how many will be able to play year 1?

Think Frazier could start in base next year? Obviously Jon Allen is a starter against a lot of teams, but our front 3 against the Georgia and LSUs of the world (at the start of the game anyway) is Reed and Robinson with Payne. I could see Tomlinson, Payne, and Frazier (Payne or Frazier being the Nose) being the starting DL against LSU and Arky, whereas Hand would start against most other teams like Allen does now.

I posted this in the other thread, but signs are pointing to Ryan Anderson making the move to DE for his final season, similarly to Xavier Dickson.

Alabama Leads LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee for 2016 WR Mykel Jones
PATTERSON, La. — Can anyone catch Alabama for this playmaker out of Louisiana? Three schools in the SEC still on his list behind the Crimson Tide...
Mykel Jones makes plays. Who will he make them for when his career at Patterson (La.) ends?
Alabama is the favorite right now with LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee still in the race for the speedster.

Make sense, though didn't he actually drop weight this season? I'm pretty sure we list him under 250 now.

Could? Possibly. Will? Depends on how well he progresses. The "depth" at NG essentially allowed Payne to leapfrog 3 guys, and that's definitely an indictment on them.
I don't think they'll treat Hand like Allen, only reason Allen isn't a base starter is that there's just too much talent. Attrition will make it plausible for him to be a starter in the odd front.
I'm sure they wouldn't mind Frazier being able to start, allowing them to use Payne more freely.

Cam Akers got hurt in Clinton's loss tonight. I don't know how serious his injury is or what part of the body it is.

I've been extremely impressed with Simmons tonight especially when he doesn't have the ball. He has two TDs, but his blocking is great.

#Alabama commitment T.J. Simmons knows how to catch the ball at its high point. He hauls in a 17-yard TD reception. His second of the night

Simmons just broke about 8 tackles on the kickoff return. Not sure how he broke away. Clay starts the second half on the Gardendale 36.

Double coverage. No problem. #Alabama commitment T.J. Simmons goes up over two defenders to haul in a 14-yard TD pass from Pigrome.

#Alabama commitment T.J. Simmons levels a defender as Ty Pigrome scrambles for a big gain. Blocking has always been a strength for T.J.
