Najee Harris, RB, Antioch (Calif.) – Alabama is getting a very special player in Harris. Only playing one quarter in a 52-0 win versus Pinole Valley, Harris rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns off six carries, per the Contra Costa Times. Harris has now set the Antioch career touchdown record at 36. The 5-0 Panthers play at Heritage on Oct. 9.

I know a lot of people want to return to the Bama offenses of 08-11, well with Harris, Akers and Williams(?). Plus Emmons and Damien Harris, we're looking at a great run game. If Barnett or Hurts can develop it will be a very well rounded offense.

Guy on BOL is saying Shawn Jennings hurt his knee Friday night. He apparently tweeted he is having surgery on Monday as well.

I believe, I read that he cracked his kneecap.

Morganton (N.C. ) Freedom had to move its Friday night game up a day because of immenent rain, but it didn't slow Scout100 Alabama commitment B.J. Emmons much. Facing Newton (N.C.) Foard Thursday, he amassed more than 300 yards on less than 10 touches.
Finishing the night with 279 yards on eight carries, taking two of his first three more than 50 to the house, the four-star notched five scores in a decisive 47-7 win. Emmons added a 36-yard punt return on his only try and also brought back a second-half kickoff for a score but it was called back by penalty.
Scout was on hand and shot low-angle video of the effort.

Any look at Rivals250, a list of the nation's best football prospects, will produce some eye-popping measurements. But even among the elite talents, there is a different tier of player. We're talking about guys that are in high school but look like they could easily be on a college roster or perhaps even an NFL roster. These players draw plenty of praise from talent evaluators, with the term "physical specimen" one that is thrown out often. Another word coaches and evaluators use is "freak," but when it's used in this context, it's very much a compliment. Here's a look at the top 10 physical freaks in the 2016 class.

DT Kendell Jones
Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker
They call Jones 'the Hulk', and it is easy to see why he earned his nickname. At 6-foot-4 and 350 pounds, Jones looks like he does not have an ounce of fat on his bones. He is sheer intimidation walking off the bus, and it does not stop there. Once he steps on the field, he tends to smash his opponents on a regular basis.

Terrell Hall and Dexter Lawrence both took OVs to Florida this weekend.
Alabama 2017 OT commitment Alex Leatherwood paid his own way to go see Florida play.
Mack Wilson, Janarius Robinson and Keith Gavin are three Tide targets who visited Florida on their own dime as well.

It's pretty long so here are some quotes I found interesting:
quote:
“The stadium was electric but it just wasn’t ‘Bama’s night. It just felt weird being in Bryant-Denny while Alabama was losing,” he said with a laugh. “It was my first time ever at Bryant-Denny during a loss."
quote:
“I was there with Marlon (Davidson), Jeffery Simmons, Mack (Lyndell Wilson), Shyheim Carter, Erroll (Thompson) and I was chilling with Dexter Lawrence, A.J. Brown and Nigel (Warrior), too,” Davis said. “Everyone got to chill and hang out a little longer and I got to meet new people.”
quote:
“I talked to the whole defensive staff, including coach Saban, Coach (Mario) Cristobal, Coach (Burton) Burns and Coach (Billy) Napier,” he said. “Almost all the coaches came up to me. They pretty much said how Reggie (Ragland) is about to leave and Reuben (Foster) and Shaun Dion Hamilton will be basically the only linebackers. So they said they need me there for the future and they really want me to come to ‘Bama. “It does (impact me) when a team tells me that I can come in and contribute immediately. That makes me consider them even more.”

Chris Nee on Devin White:
Interdasting.

We mentioned back in June during IMG 7-on Championships that White planned to take an official to FSU. Date now locked in (October 10th). FSU sits around third or fourth for him, clearly behind LSU and Arkansas. Alabama also up there. Auburn running last.
Interdasting.

TW, What is the competition BJ Emmons plays like?
The top classification is 4A in the state and his school is 3A. They play some of the 4A teams in the state including in 2 weeks their big rival a ranked 4A team on the road. That should be a huge game for him.
Again it hard to say because the western part of the state is not like Charlotte or the Triangle area. Both the Western and Eastern part of the state do not have the population but some of the best players come from those areas. Gurley was from a 2A HS, the same HS Yancey Thigpen played at. J Peppers another from a 3A school. Emmons school usually plays in regular season or early in the playoffs against Asheville HS the school J Pagan played for and the same school Leonard Little played at.
I would say half the teams he plays against are very solid meaning good playoff teams and remember he is not playing the whole game when they get a big lead so his stats could be a lot greater if they left him in.

Did we not recruit De'Runnya Wilson at all?
Late bloomer... He was basketball only until his junior or senior season. He visited a few times but never had a legit offer.
Besides, We already had Falkins and Stewart onboard even though most of us though ArDarius would be a DB. We were working Rob Foster hard as the position headliner. Now maybe if we don't take 4RBs and 2QBs (not including Del Rio) we could have had room for him, lol. Honestly, I think Miss State was a better landing spot for him.

Greg Little OV'd to Auburn this weekend.

Just the usual remarks recruits give following a visit. Nothing earth shattering.

Devin Asiasi was blown away on his visit. His mother was blown away. He'll return with more family next month. We are in very good shape.
Maybe the next offensive coordinator can figure out how to use him.
