Jaquan Yulee says he's solid but it sounds like he has some work to do in the classroom:

LB City College (Calif.) defensive end Josh Allen committed to Arizona in mid-July but the Wildcats will have to fight off one of the nation's true heavyweight programs before getting him on campus. After giving a commitment to Arizona back in July, a few schools, notably Oregon, showed some interest in rush end Josh Allen. Now the Cats have to battle with Alabama after the Tide offered over the weekend.

"I honestly couldn't belive it," Allen said on Tuesday. "That's one of those schools you tell your kids about, that you got offered by Alabama. When I first started this process, I wasn't on anyone's list and didn't have any offers last year and now Alabama jumps in with an offer, it really made me speechless." Allen said the interest from the Tide started off innocently enough.

"One day out of the blue, I got followed on twitter from a coach from Bama," Allen said. "I followed back and didn't think much of it but then I was asked to send in my transcripts. A little bit later, I got a call from the DC, Kirby Smart who asked me if I wanted to come out and take a visit.

"I asked what their interest level was because it didn't make sense to trip out there without an offer and that's when he told me they were offering me a scholarship and wanted to get me on campus. I was blown away. I talked to my mom and she's encouraging me to take the visit. I never thought I would have the opportunity to see a school like Alabama so I would love to go and check them out and see how I like it."

Throughout the country, there are always battleground states. Schools in the West battle for players in California. Florida is a place for SEC, ACC and even Big Ten. Georgia is fruitful recruiting ground for most of the SEC. But sometimes a school can reach across the country, or into an area where recruiting success is far from assured, and nab a top talent.

In this week's First and 10, we break down the 10 biggest out-of-state grabs, programs that surprised by stealing a top talent away from programs closer to home.

7. OT Jonah Williams

Folsom, Calif. | Alabama

Williams does not do many camps, but I saw him in the state championship game for Folsom last season and he was absolutely dominant at left tackle. He's tough, mean, plays through the whistle and is super physical. Alabama should be a perfect spot for him since competition will be fierce and Williams is the type of kid who's only worried about getting better, not the hype around the recruiting process.

Commits Return to T-Town

Nine members of the Tide’s 2016 class, which is currently rated No. 6 in the nation, are scheduled to be in attendance.

Four of the Tide’s five in-state commits are expected, as are out-of-state 4-star defensive lineman pledges Khalid Kareem—who will be on his official visit—and Raekwon Davis.

Additionally, a pair of 2017 4-star Tide pledges in running back Cam Akers and receiver D.D. Bowie headline the crop of juniors already bound for Tuscaloosa.

Overall, Saban and his staff will have plenty of help in the stands when it comes to their efforts in making the weekend a huge success.

Top 2016 Targets On Hand

There will also be several interesting targets to watch in the crowd who are still on the market. In-state 5-star linebackers Ben Davis and Lyndell Wilson have been on Saban’s radar for quite some time.

The Tide will also welcome in a stacked group of defensive linemen who rate among the nation’s best. A pair of 5-star defensive tackles in Rashard Lawrence and Dexter Lawrence highlight the interior prospects visiting. Meanwhile, 5-star defensive end and current Auburn commit Marlon Davidson and 4-star defensive end Jeffery Simmons are touted pass-rushers who will be on hand.

A pair of 4-star receivers in A.J. Brown and Keith Gavin, plus 4-star safety Nigel Warrior are also targets who are either trending or ones the staff hopes to make a strong impression on this week.

Overall, Alabama has a chance to make a move with a handful of coveted targets this weekend.

2017 and Beyond

While the Tide already have six commits for 2017 on board, this weekend represents a chance to build a foundation with a number of prospects who already hold offers. The Tide will host a number of young quarterbacks, with 2017 4-star passers Jake Fromm and Tristan Gebbia leading the way.

Jack West, who already holds an offer, is a 2018 quarterback prospect expected to attend.

Gebbia’s teammates at Calabasas (Calif.) High School—5-star athlete Darnay Holmes and 4-star receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr.—are expected to accompany him to Tuscaloosa this weekend. Some defensive prospects to watch include 5-star corner Deangelo Gibbs, 4-star corner AJ Harris and 4-star linebackers Will Ignont and Breon Dixon.

Given the hype surrounding the game and an atmosphere that should be electric with a prime-time tilt and ESPN’s College GameDay in town, Alabama is sure to be the center of the recruiting universe this weekend.

The 2015 college football season rolls into Week 3, presenting another opportunity for coaches to showcase their programs in front of coveted high school prospects.

Recruits across America are on the move again, spending Saturday at various universities. An epic showdown between LSU and Auburn highlights expansive action, as big-time targets Stephen Sullivan and Dylan Moses are among multiple premier players expected to attend the SEC battle in Baton Rouge.

These latest campus trips may not make an immediate impact on the outcome of recruitments, but they will undoubtedly be a factor when commitment decisions are determined down the road. Here's a look at eight upcoming recruiting visits to monitor closely this weekend.

Oregon: 4-star CB Nigel Knott

Class: 2016

High School: Germantown (Madison, Mississippi)

Size: 5'11", 175 lbs

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 4 cornerback; No. 44 overall

Nigel Knott, known for his back-flip exploits on and off the field, makes Eugene the final stop before a commitment. He'll watch the Ducks host Georgia State just four days shy of an announcement ceremony, which coincides with his Sept. 23 Under Armour All-American jersey presentation.

Considered one of the most impressive athletes in this recruiting cycle, Knott is an accomplished defender who brings versatility to the back end of a defensive attack. He registered 112 tackles last season, adding four interception and 16 pass breakups.

Mississippi State, LSU and Alabama are just a few of the SEC teams hoping he stays close to home in college. Knott, who completed the 40-yard dash in 4.30 seconds this summer at The Opening, would add to an Oregon class that already includes 4-star Texas cornerback Jared Mayden.

Ducks secondary coach John Neal has done an excellent job landing and developing talented defensive backs during a lengthy tenure. His latest out-of-state target offers immediate-impact potential and world-class athleticsm.

I guess he's making the trip out there after all.

Alabama: 4-star DE Terrell Hall

Class: 2016

High School: St. John's College (Washington, D.C.)

Size: 6'5", 250 lbs

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 8 weak-side defensive end; No. 101 overall

A recruitment that once seemed wrapped up quickly became much more intriguing in early August, when Terrell Hall ended a five-month commitment to Ohio State. Though the Buckeyes now carry two 5-star commitments at defensive end—Nick Bosa and Jonathon Cooper—he remains interested in the program but is excited to explore alternative options.

"I started to think about the possibility of playing positions other than a 4-3 defensive end," he told Bleacher Report. "I like how Alabama sees me as a 3-4 outside linebacker who can still play some defensive end. It also gives me an opportunity to drop back in pass coverage and show off my athleticism. That versatility is attractive to NFL teams."

Hall, who tallied 19 tackles for loss last season, is now seen as a Crimson Tide lean. Alabama warrants 76 percent of experts' predictions in 247Sports his 247Sports Crystal Ball.

This trip to Tuscaloosa is Hall's second since July and could put Alabama firmly in the driver's seat for his pledge. Other contenders include Ole Miss, Maryland and Texas A&M.

LSU: 5-star LB Dylan Moses

Class: 2017

High School: University Lab (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)

Size: 6'2", 220 lbs

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1 outside linebacker; No. 1 overall

Dylan Moses, a hometown kid, isn't particularly likely to encounter anything new during his latest visit to LSU. Still, it's a big deal to have this scintillating high school junior in attendance for a key SEC clash with Auburn.

Moses, who committed to LSU early in his freshman season, reopened a frenzied recruitment this summer. It was a major development for a prospect who appeared on the cover of ESPN The Magazine before his first varsity tackle and has drawn comparisons to past prodigious talents such as Bo Jackson.

Alabama, Texas and Florida State are just a few of the programs that would love to gain ground in this pursuit. Moses recorded more than 300 total tackles as an underclassman and also impressed at running back.

He played on both sides of the ball this summer as a rare early invitee at The Opening, a premier prospect showcase held in Oregon. Moses will always be front and center for LSU's 2017 recruiting efforts, and this latest visit is a potential step toward reestablishing his pledge to the program.
