Why would you not take the in state kid? Even if all 3 are 4+ stars, the home state kid will play his heart out for Alabama at 150% while playing for Alabama won't mean as much to a kid from out of state. JMHO

If talent is close to equal, there's some truth to that. I assume you're talking about the RB Robinson versus the other two RBs we have committed for 2017? In this case, you NEVER turn down Cam Akers or Najee Harris. Freak show central. But Robinson looks awesome too. Much like you guys, we're stockpiling an embarrassment of riches at RB (if they all sign with us), to go along with Damien Harris, Scarborough, and Emmons. (And whoever signs Devin White)

The RBs sparked my thoughts but I have seen Alabama "pass" on quite a few in state guys because they thought an out of state guy was better. I believe that's why auburn gives Alabama fits too. They have a lot of the guys that Alabama thinks aren't good enough to play for them. So they have a chip on their shoulder in the Iron Bowl.
Kwon Alexander is a great example of what I'm talking about. Dude is a beast LB. I know he was hurt his first year. Who did Alabama pass Kwon over for? Did they contribute their first season at Alabama?
That was my point also. If a kid is a 4 or 5 star, who can really tell the talent difference? They say Akers and Harris are better than Robinson. But are they really? I don't think anybody can say definitively. There's been quite a few busts in highly recruited kids. I think you'd have a lower bust factor cause the in state kids would give maximum effort.
Sans Tyler Love. Not sure what happened there

I dont think there is a difference between a 4 and 5 star. There is proof of this. Amari was a 4 star correct? NFL rosters are loaded with undrafted and lowly drafted players.

Had Amari played in the All-Star games, he would have been the #1 WR nationally. He blew up at our camp the Summer before his senior year. Calvin Ridley is said to be comparable to our staff. Jerry Jeudy in 2017 is considered at the level of those two.

Amari tore the under armour all star game up if I recall...

You sure about that? If so, he must have been injured. I can't imagine me not remembering him playing in that.

Emmons is putting up Damien Harris-like video game stats. Just another day at the office for the top RB recruit in the country.

He wasn't hurt. He ran a kickoff back.
It was a punt and he caught a td from Winston.

Cool. Thanks. The recruiting services miss slightly again. In fairness he was rated fairly high.

No problem. I only remember it because I thought the coaches were idiots for having him return that punt. Then he ran it back all the way, so I figured, I was the idiot

Shyheim Carter will be attending the game this weekend, along with Josh Perry and DeVonta Smith.

Rivals250 wide receiver Darnell Salomon continues to mystify with his hot-and-cold act. On Saturday, he caught a number of impressive passes, including a deep touchdown. He also managed to drop a couple of balls that bounced off his hands. A one-time five-star, the explosive Salomon has a wealth of impressive tools. He desperately needs to refine his game before he can become a truly elite prospect.

Monroe (La.) Neville Rivals250 defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence has a top five of Ohio State, UCLA, Washington, LSU and Alabama, and he is making plans to take his official visits. His first official visit will be to UCLA the weekend of Oct. 2. Neville has a bye week and UCLA will host Arizona State. He also plans to take official visits to Ohio State and Washington, and he mentioned Florida State as a visit possibility as well. He does not have any dates set, but he is looking at visiting Ohio State the weekend the Buckeyes host Penn State (Oct. 17).
UCLA will be a crucial visit since his official visit will be the first time he has a chance see the Bruins firsthand. In addition to his official visit schedule, Lawrence also has a few unofficial visits in mind. LSU/Auburn (Sept. 19), Alabama/Ole Miss (Sept. 19) and Alabama/LSU (Nov. 7) are all games he has circled on his schedule.
He has his top five and Florida State also remains in the mix, but he does hope to make his decision before too long. "Soon, right after the season," Lawrence said. "Hopefully I can get one, maybe two, officials after the season quick, but after the season so I can get it over. I don't want to have to drag this out if I don't have to."
He wants to make his decision at his school in front of his friends and family.

Super Standout
DT Rashard Lawrence | Monroe (La.) Neville
It took all of about two seconds for the Maumelle (Ark.) offense to be introduced to Lawrence, a Rivals250 defensive tackle. He took on double and triple teams and he was constantly in the offensive backfield. He was quick off the ball and showed a variety of moves as he worked his way through and away from blockers. Maumelle simply did not have an answer for Lawrence, who put on a show as he disrupted every play while he was on the field.
