Not really related to us, but Christopher Nee put in a CB for Shavar Manuel to Auburn.
That kid has been associated with practically every school in the SE at some point.

Uh oh. It looks like some more people are catching on that "My Name is Earl" from BOL is full of shite:
He'll probably have his post deleted and receive a message saying to stop "causing trouble" for Earl as well.

Miller weighs 213? What happened to Rashaan Evans maybe not adding as much weight as they were hoping but Miller successfully doing so (from the post with 200+ up votes)?

Apparently RB is a huge need

We need depth at the position. If we could flip Thompson and get Emmons on campus (grades), then we should be in pretty good shape moving forward. Thompson, Bo Scar and Damien Harris would tote the rock in 2016 with Emmons, Najee Harris and Cam Akers the backs of the future.

Chadarius Townsend interview from Rivals summarized by Magilla on TSWSNBN:
quote:
Rivals:
*Committed in mid-June, waited to announce,
*Felt at home at Bama, everyone was family.
*Being recruited as an athlete, likes QB and S. Starting on defense again after taking a year off.
*100% to Bama, doing what he can to enroll early.
*Would like to hear from LSU.

Terrell Hall interview from BOL summarized by Magilla on TSWSNBN:
quote:
BOL:
*Likes the family vibe and the competitive nature at Alabama, saw while hanging out with the players how Bama is.
*Saw everything he needed to see if he were a player at Bama, the workouts, the practices, the facilities, etc...
*Really likes Coach Lupoi as well, "exciting coach". Gets the bet out of you. As does Scott Cochran the the support staff.
*"It's built for you to succeed."
*Has been talking a lot with Lupoi lately, talks with him or his mom every 2 or 3 days to see what's up.
*Loves the idea of playing JACK LB, they let him in on one of the meeting and showed him what all it took at the position.
*Feels the spot will help him prepare for the NFL and also help him on a contract if he makes it that far.
*Advised him to not use an official visit during the season, as they will not be able to spend a lot of time with them. Suggested to come to a game, but set the official after the season.
*Taking the process slower this time, felt when he committed to tOSU he did it too hastily. Wants to see what is out there, how he fits in at different schools.
*Feels at home at Bama, and he's close with Da'Shawn Hand and Tony Brown(among others). They are brothers at Bama, knows Coach Lupoi and Saban will take care of him.

We got another CB for Abdul Adams. That's 3 in the last 12 hours.

I'm so glad that we have Coach Lupoi. He is doing well now, but after a couple more years of relationships, he is going to be unreal.

Two things:
1. The first bolded quote gives me hope that he won't Landmass us. I like how he didn't commit on a visit high and specifically made a trip to Tuscaloosa to commit in person.
2. I hope he can bring a championship to Clinton. We haven't had one in forever.

quote:
Cam Akers, 2017 Rivals100 running back from Clinton High School in Miss., committed to The University of Alabama on Tuesday evening. He was ready to commit to the Crimson Tide. "My family and I decided it was the right time and situation for me," said Akers. "I saw what all I needed to see. I decided yesterday to go ahead and make my commitment." Akers committed to Alabama while he was in Tuscaloosa on an unofficial visit. "I went up there yesterday," he said. "It wasn't a tour visit. It was mainly a business trip. I was gauging my commitment based on how the visit went. I met with Coach Saban and had a great time. "Coach Saban was excited about my commitment. He said for me to make sure I knew this is what I wanted to do. He told me Bama is behind me. He is very glad to have me become an Alabama football player in the future."
The nation's No.4 all-purpose back spent a lot of time in Tuscaloosa this summer. He earned a scholarship offer after the camp in June. "I like the facilities and the coaches," Akers said. "They are a winning program. They are known for winning. They also have a great academic system. "I have a great relationship with the coaching staff, Coach Davis, Coach Burns and Coach Saban. We all have a good relationship with each other. Alabama is like my second home. They don't sugar-coat anything. They tell you how it really is."
His family also agrees with his commitment to roll with the Tide. "They felt great about my decision," he said. "They feel like I made the right decision. I know I made the right decision with the help of my family. They gave me some things to consider before I committed to Alabama." The 5-foot-11, 212-pound back is happy to have the decision behind him before the start of his junior season. He only has one goal. "My goal is to win a state championship," Akers said. "I want to help my team win. It does feel good to have my decision over with. I won't have that distraction during the season. "I feel like I am good running the football. I can also catch the ball out of the backfield. I can bring a lot to the table. I am a running back, but also a good athlete." Akers will continue to take additional visits. He mentioned Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee as schools he will still consider.

Missing out on Leo Lewis and Raekwon McMillan may end up hurting us in the future.

Speaking of flip flopping recruits, it now appears that Rashan Gary's favorite is LSU. Looks like he favors everyone but us.

Hope we can reel the speedster in. He would be a nice change of pace from D. Harris, Bo and in '17 N. Harris and Akers. Damn things are looking up at RB.

Thanks.
Unfortunately there isn't a database for this kind of thing, but I do wonder if we experience more flips than most teams. If so, that would put a damper in the "bammer has a recruiting advantage because they pay players" arguments. Are there really that many players that turn down thousands of dollars at UA to play at ______ for free?

Well yes Leonard Fournette turned down a 100,000 because he loved LSU so much and wanted to play for free. Of course you believe something like that if you are an idiot fan boat riding swamp rat eating bayou trash of a fan.

The state of Alabama has been one of the fastest-rising in the country when it comes to top-end talent and the Rivals.com list of all-time highest-ranked prospects from the Yellowhammer State bears witness. Although led by offensive lineman Andre Smith from 2006, six of the top 10 are from the class 2012 to the present. No wonder Alabama and Auburn have won national titles in recent years.

1 OL Andre Smith
Birmingham (Ala.) Huffman (No. 2 in the Class of 2006)
Percy Harvin was the only player ranked ahead of Smith in the class of 2006, while he was ahead of Chris Wells, Gerald McCoy, Matthew Stafford and C.J. Spiller in the top 10. During his recruiting process, Smith took official visits to Alabama, LSU, Miami, USC and Florida in the weeks leading up to National Signing Day, but at the end of the day he signed with the Crimson Tide, where most people assumed he was going to end up.
Smith lived up to the lofty expectations while at Alabama. He started every game for the Crimson Tide during his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, finishing as a first-team All-American and the Outland Trophy winner in 2008. However, after being declared ineligible for the 2009 Sugar Bowl due to improper dealings with an agent, Smith declared for the NFL Draft. Drafted by Cincinnati with the sixth overall pick of the 2009 draft, Smith has become a valuable member of the Bengals offense. He will begin his seventh season with Cincinnati this fall.
Farrell's Take: Smith was one of the nastiest and most physical offensive linemen I have ever seen in high school and he was the rare OL prospect that overcame a lack of height to not only be a five-star but also a first-rounder. You just can't teach the anger he played with and any budding offensive line prospect should take a look at his film back in the day. When I'm asked who are the top five most physical offensive linemen I have ever seen, Smith always leads the list. He panned out in every sense of a Rivals ranking - five-star to college star to first-round pick.
Hard to argue with this one.
