From the UGA thread according to one of their insiders who was at Dawg Night:

quote:

talked to coach mcbride for a good while..he was at vidalia when my boys played for dublin and we were in the same region....alabama made a good impression of course but it looked like nate was having a good time visiting last night...spent a lot of time around jaleel laguins and then the new lb transfer ganus. i think we are dads pick and as it wears on that always helps.

a national kid that i hadnt paid much attention to but after talking to him think we have a good shot is the xavier kelly kid from kansas...he was with his dad who lives in savannah and i think he has legit interest in uga...he played at windsor forest??? i think he said in sav his freshman season. i have been around these things and the combines long enough to tell when a kid is just being polite and when he likes a school.....dont know where he falls on our board at olb but i think we can be a player here.

rashan gary seemed to really enjoy the little gang of players he was hanging out with...hard to read to much into that since he might like the little gangs of players at other schools to but from reports his mom will have a big say in this and she seems to think richt would be a good father figure......history tells me the mom and the hs coach are two MAJOR influences......no clue on the coach and i know one of his former coaches got a job at michigan but it SOUNDS like mom is ok with us.....NOT saying we get him but another one we may have a punchers chance with.

Any update on Dexter Lawrence visit. BOL has really been slacking lately.

I've seen nothing. I think I've read somewhere that Dexter doesn't do interviews very often.

BOL hasn't been the same since Charles Power and Chris Walsh left.

I used to think paying them $10/month was a steal for all of the information and analysis we got. Now I don't subscribe, and I really don't think I'm missing much.

You're not missing much. Hopefully things changes once the season start.

I like our chances if we push and would not be surprised if he leaves with UA as his leader

I hope we push for him. Our staff might like Rashard or someone else better, but we've seen how that works out in the past (taking our chances with Conner instead of getting Bell, Fournette instead of Roc Thomas)

Demetris Robertson, a 5-star from Savannah, told the AJC on Sunday night that Stanford is his leader, followed by UGA and Alabama tied for second. Even though UGA is still not the top school for Robertson, it’s a big move up for the Bulldogs. Earlier this month at The Opening, Robertson named Stanford and Alabama as his co-leaders, with UGA sitting back at No. 3.

“Yes sir, no doubt, best visit yet,” he said. (His Dawg Night visit)

And then there’s the Jacob Eason factor: Catching passes from the nation’s No. 1-rated quarterback might be the No. 1 thing in UGA’s favor with Robertson. At least it was the main selling point from Bulldogs coach Mark Richt this weekend.

Per the Ags, sounds like Tate Martell had a great visit there today and might commit there soon.

I think netori Johnson is a top 25 player in the initial rivals 2017 rankings.
