I wish we would wait before taking Eubanks. Hopefully K Smith has a change of heart or maybe Isaac N. sees that FSU has no control over its players and leaves.

The top five uncommitted prospects in the Mid-Atlantic for the class of 2016 features three five-stars who are still fairly wide open in the process. Here is a closer look at the players who are on everyone's radar in the Mid-Atlantic.

The Skinny: Dexter Lawrence, the nation's top overall player, has plenty of options and is taking his time sorting through them. He will visit Alabama and possibly Auburn this week and there is a good chance Florida, Ohio State and Stanford get official visits. Lawrence is planning on graduating early so he can enroll in the spring, so he will have to commit no later than early January. In-state schools N.C. State and North Carolina have been recruiting him harder than all the other schools so far. Clemson, LSU, Florida State, USC, Virginia Tech and many others are still in the mix.

If today were Signing Day ... N.C. State would be the choice. There is a long time between now and Signing Day, but the Wolfpack has been a team Lawrence consistently says is recruiting him the hardest and the school he has visited the most. Official visits will go a long way toward helping him find the right school.

The Skinny: Gary has a lot of visits coming up in July. He will make the trip to Georgia this coming weekend and LSU the following weekend. There is a chance Gary and a group of highly rated prospects from the New Jersey and Philadelphia area visit Ole Miss, Alabama and Auburn before LSU, but those plans remain a little up in the air. Gary will visit Michigan for the BBQ in early August and Auburn, along with the Wolverines, will likely get official visits. Gary isn't one to name a leader prematurely and he has yet to really sit down to put together a top five. Behind the scenes, Michigan and Auburn have separated from the pack and are the clear leaders with Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State still in the mix

If today were Signing Day ... Michigan would be the choice. The Wolverines have been one of Gary's top schools since Day 1 and it helps that many of his friends are also committed to Michigan. Auburn is a major contender and the Tigers' chances hinge largely on how comfortable Gary feels with the people there.

The Skinny: Walker has been committed to Ohio State since halftime of the National Championship game in January, but since then the Buckeyes have taken a few commitments that caused Walker to raise his eyebrows. Since the beginning, Ohio State told Walker he would be the only running back they were taking in the 2016 class, but Buckeye commits DeMario McCall and George Hill, who are listed as athletes, can play running back also. Walker has been slowly exploring his options and taken visits to Rutgers, Alabama and Auburn.

If today were Signing Day ... Walker sticks with Ohio State. If Ohio State can keep Walker from taking any other visits, the Buckeyes will likely get him in the end. Right now there is a very good chance Walker takes a few official visits and one of them could be Auburn. He seemed to really like his unofficial visit earlier this offseason.

Yup they seem to latch on to any out of state recruit who shows an interest in Bama by telling the kid he can visit both places while visiting us. Have noticed this for the last 6,7 years.Of course if the kid is really good like Gary or Cyrus he is shown the vault and the door to the promised land.

Several made big plays throughout the day, but only a few find themselves on Top Performers. Here's a look at some of the best of the best.

2 S Jeffrey Okudah (2017)
Grand Prairie (Texas) South Grand Prairie

Recruiting wrap: Okudh has taken several visits this offseason and plans to tour Florida State, Georgia and Auburn in the near future.

Performance: Okudah has impressive size (6-1, 194) and surprising speed to go along with it. He used his long arms to break up a few passes that looked like sure completions. Okudah was probably the most well-rounded defensive back prospect at the camp. He may play safety in college because of his size, but he certainly has the tools to play man coverage.

It appears Najee Harris may be more solid than he let on earlier last week. In the Holyfield video linked above the reporters said he was recruiting Elijah to Alabama.

Another edition of The Opening wrapped up Friday, following three days of constant action at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. The event annually features more than 160 elite college football prospects, who compete against the very best of their peers.

Plenty of players proved themselves on a national stage and can expect their stock to rise in the recruiting landscape. Others arrived in Oregon already anointed among the nation's elite.

We kept a close eye on the upper echelon of athletes who arrived with lofty expectations, highlighting the top 10 competitors in 247Sports' composite rankings.
