Just keep posting what you're posting. We, as posters, usually get in some kind of scuffle on tMEGATHREAD at least twice a year. And you have joined a board filled with negagumps, myself included. If you post something negative, we will probably agree with it more than when you post something positive.
We may need some sunshine to balance the force.

You know I've calmed down. A lot.
Don't make me bring out the Saint from 2011.
fricking Hackenberg.

I'll say this about our recruiting. The staff (not me, not some board mods, but the assistant coaches on the Bama staff, most of which REALLY don't pump sunshine) thinks our recruiting in the 2014, 2015, and 2016 has improved a lot over the previous years in terms of evaluations. They feel like our DB talent level is back up to around 2009-2011 standards(albeit a bit young), the OL talent is ridiculous, DL talent has improved a lot from the solid run-pluggers. QB recruiting is beginning to come around. They feel like we're in position to make a HUGE run from 2016-2019, and with good QB play this year maybe sooner than that. As one of our assistants said recently, "if we can't win a couple NCs from 2016-19 with the talent we're lining up we should all be fired". That info is from redfish, who is ANYTHING but a sunshine pumper.

Meh.
We could all make the same assumptions based on the way things are going.
Yeah we are recruiting "meaner" players in this class. Only time will tell if that philosophy will pay dividends.

What assumption? That we're recruiting better? The objective isn't to recruit "meaner" players. It's to recruit better players.
Posted on 6/20/15 at 10:29 pm to TideSaint
For example, our staff believes Michail Carter is a better DL prospect than Derrick Brown. They believed Jonah Williams was very elite and on par with Greg Little back before the services caught on. They are very high on Keith Gavin at WR. Much moreso than Trevon Diggs, who is rated higher. They believed Hurts is a better QB than Barrett and Pass. They believe that Devin White and Miles Sanders are better RB prospects than Kareem Walker.
Not because they don't think we have a shot at any of those guys. Not because they are "meaner" or better leaders or whatever (although Im sure it does play a small role in some cases). It's because they honestly believe they are the better football prospects.

@DevinWhite_40: In no way committed to ANY college program!!!!! Thanks
A lot of the LSU folks, including Memphis pt 2, are saying that he is a silent commit to LSU. I hope that is not accurate, as this year has the potential to either make or break our depth at RB.
I wonder where our staff will turn if Devin White ends up at LSU and Miles Sanders keeps his Penn State commitment

We've had the top recruiting class each of the last 5 seasons. This year's may barely crack the top 5 unless we land some highly ranked players currently projected to sign elsewhere. How is that recruiting "better?"
We will still sign a fantastic group of prospects this year.

So, Auburn was eliminated from contention for Jawon Pass last week. Now they're back in it again, but UNC and VT are eliminated.
Call me crazy, but I think he signs with Auburn. No inside info. Just a guess. LINK

PASS SHINES AT AU CAMP, SHORTENS HIS LIST

Inside the Auburn Tigers
Quarterback Jawon Pass talks about his performance at Auburn's seven-on-seven camp and about his soon to be announced college choice.
Columbus, Ga.--Jawon Pass, one of the standouts at Auburn’s seven-on-seven football team competition on Saturday, said that he is getting close to making his college choice and that the Auburn Tigers are on his even shorter short list.
Asked who his finalists are, the Carver High star told Inside the Auburn Tigers, “Auburn, Alabama and Louisville and I am going to commit on July 16th.”
Pass, a 6-4 1/2, 211-pounder who will be a senior at Carver this season, had previously narrowed his list to five teams when he competed at the Elite 11 quarterback event semi-finals in Los Angeles. North Carolina and Virginia Tech didn’t make his new short list, but the Tigers, who did, gave him plenty of attention on Saturday.
Gus Malzahn, Auburn’s head coach, and offensive coordinator/quarterback coach Rhett Lashlee carefully watched Pass show his strong right arm in the event that featured high school teams from across the southeast.
“The camp went good,” Pass said. “My team, we competed hard and it was a good day.”
Asked what the best part of the camp was for him, Pass said, “Having a chance to be on campus and talk to the coaches again. They said they love me and they said I did well today. It is still the same.”
Jawon Pass
Pass will be in Oregon for the Elite 11 finals in July and noted the trip will be an exciting one. “I am just blessed and I am going to take advantage of it,” he said.
Carver has produced strong teams for many years and Pass predicts that won’t change for the Tigers during his senior season. “We need some work, of course, but we are going to be good,” he said.
When it is time to make his college choice, does the four-star quarterback have a factor or factors that will determine where he is headed? “I am just going to follow my heart and talk it over with my mom,” he said. “That is going to be it.”

From an article on Auburn's 7 on 7 team camp:

On the offensive line massive Netori Johnson is a bulldozer on the line of scrimmage for Cedar Grove High in Georgia. Already committed to Alabama, the 2017 prospect is definitely still very much open, however, and Auburn is in the mix. With teammates Antwuan Jackson and Elysee Mbem-Bosse both very much looking at the Tigers, he is someone to keep an eye on.

While the team play took center stage at the end, there were lots of very good individual performances on Saturday on both offense and defense. With that in mind we give you our top players of the day for Auburn’s Team Camp.
Quarterbacks Jake Bentley and Jawon Pass both had good days, but Bentley was a cut above on Saturday. Showing a strong and accurate arm, Bentley is on track to put up some huge numbers at Opelika this fall and there is little doubt he’ll be a huge 2017 recruit.

#Rivals250 RB BJ Emmons was impressed by #Alabama visit. Are the #Tide now the team to beat?
Let's add another non-qualifier at RB. That will solve our depth problem

Kobie Eubanks making his decision on Monday. I'd be shocked if he doesn't pick Alabama.
I know, basketball recruit, but this might affect Nick Eubanks.
