Nate McBride (2017)
Vidalia, Ga.
A member of the "All-Lobby" team, McBride looks the part when he gets off the bus and backs it up when he's on the field. With elite speed and a 6-foot-2, 220-pound build, McBride can cover tight ends, running backs and wide receivers when asked. He made several plays during one-on-ones and seven-on-seven and looks like one of the nation's top linebackers in his class.

Demetris Robertson
Savannah (Ga.) Savannah Christian School
Somebody needs to tell Robertson that he's a full-time wide receiver. When lined up on offense, the Georgia prospect was as impressive as any player at the event. He spent some time struggling at cornerback, though, and that likely cost him MVP consideration. Robertson is strong, quick and unbelievably explosive. He a well-built offensive weapon and needs to exorcise the lingering bits of defensive back hanging around inside him.

DeAngelo Gibbs (2017)
Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge
Gibbs is still recovering from a knee injury he suffered in the fall, but he's looking closer to 100 percent after a strong weekend in Baltimore. He worked out at cornerback rather than safety and put on a show during seven-on-seven, recording several pass deflections. If Gibbs can play as well as he did against the nation's elite, it's scary to think about the type of season he will have this fall.

BALTIMORE -- There was plenty of young talent on display at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour inside M&T Bank Stadium this past weekend, but a few stood out above the rest. Here are the top underclassmen from the event that was loaded with promising prospects.

William Poole III (2017)
Atlanta (Ga.) Hapeville Charter
When the moment came to line up against five-star wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers, the younger Poole looked unfazed. Poole held his own against a very good crop of receivers and had a couple of interceptions during the 7-on-7 tournament to show for it. He also shined during one-on-one drills earlier in the day, using his length to his advantage and proving to be a tough matchup for wideouts of all sizes.

McBride moved very well in space and looked plenty comfortable in coverage against running backs, slot receivers and tight ends. He wasn't the biggest 'backer in the event, but what he lacked in size he made up for in savvy, showing the ability to decipher crossing routes and limiting passing lanes by taking good angles toward the football.

Deangelo Gibbs
Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge
Though he's listed as a safety and projects as one given his 6-foot-1, 199-pound frame, Gibbs was excellent at cornerback throughout the 7-on-7 tournament. He made a fantastic interception manning that spot, looking natural in his backpedal and in staying with receivers through various double moves.

Jeffrey Okudah (2017)
Grand Prairie (Texas) South Grand Prairie
Whether it was jamming receivers near the line of scrimmage or keeping up with them in man-to-man coverage down field, Okudah showed exactly why he is considered one of the most versatile defensive back prospects in the land. He continues to get bigger and that might force a full-time move to safety, but Okudah has the skill set to be a very good cover corner in different defensive sets.

2016 Killeen Shoemaker defensive tackle Kendell Jones committed to Alabama on May 22 following his spring game. After announcing his pledge, Rivals.com analyst Jason Howell asked if the recruiting process was done for the four-star prospect. Jones' response: "Yes sir. It is."
Verbal commitments are often times viewed as reservations, which can be cancelled or changed at any given time prior to signing a national letter of intent.
That could be the situation for Jones.
Two and a half weeks after pledging to the Crimson Tide, Jones had a different response about his recruitment.
"My options are still open so I guess I am half solid," Jones said at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge. "Things can always change so right now it isn't completely solid. I'm looking forward to see what will happen."
Admitting his options are open could lead people to believe the monster defensive tackle's pledge to Alabama is more along the lines of a reservation. And his reservation could be changed if the right opportunity presents itself.
Jones' commitment to Alabama was a bit of a surprise for those who have closely followed his recruitment. After taking numerous trips to Austin over the last few years, many believed Texas was his leader.
The Longhorns are still not out of the mix for the No. 86 prospect in the nation. Head coach Charlie Strong has been understanding of his situation, but has encouraged Jones and his father to make a trip to Austin to discuss his recruitment face-to-face.

LOS ANGELES — Columbus, Georgia, 4-star quarterback Jawon Pass isn't the type of guy who will blatantly call out anyone he respects—particularly the quarterbacks he already knew and the ones he got to know and admire over the weekend at the Elite 11 semifinals on the USC campus.
But don't mistake that kindness for weakness. And don't believe that Pass, the nation's No. 3-ranked dual-threat quarterback, is afraid to compete against them.
Over the weekend, Pass was one of 30 quarterbacks showcased. Of those 30, the 6'5", 220-pound Carver High School standout was one of only two uncommitted players in attendance, the other being Houston's Dillon Sterling-Cole.
He has a top five of Auburn, Alabama, Louisville, Virginia Tech and North Carolina.
Of those schools, only Virginia Tech is without a quarterback commit. In fact, Pass competed against Auburn commit Woody Barrett and Alabama commit Jalen Hurts at the Elite 11 semifinals.
For Pass, having a quarterback already committed to a team's recruiting class isn't something that will turn him away from giving a verbal pledge.
"I'm not afraid. Anywhere I go, there will be competition," Pass said. "I want to be the guy wherever I go."
Pass has 22 reported offers, but he said his five and Florida are the schools that intrigue him. This means there's a good chance he could be a part of a class with two quarterback commits.
While there's still plenty of time for him to choose a school—or for a committed quarterback to potentially look elsewhere—Pass wants to make sure he does everything at his own pace.
"There's no pressure. I'm taking my time and enjoying the process," he said. "Most of my top schools have a [quarterback] commit, but that doesn't affect me. Most of the schools I'm interested in said they'll take two [quarterbacks] if I want to go there. I just want to make sure I'm enjoying it all."
On Sunday, Pass said he was planning to visit the six aforementioned schools before making the trip next month to Beaverton, Oregon, for The Opening. He qualified for The Opening with his performance at the Atlanta regional in March.
Late last month, he announced that he would make his decision on July 13, which is three days after The Opening concludes:
In the meantime, Pass said he's having fun and learning more in preparation for his senior year and, ultimately, for college. Participating in the Elite 11 semifinals was a great diversion for his recruitment, as he not only received tutelage from highly respected coaches who know the game but also took in his first trip to the West Coast.
"It was a great experience," he said. "I felt like I got better every day and learned some new things. It was a blessing being out here with the best. It's big being out here as one of the top 30 in the country."
When it's time for him to make a college decision, Pass said he has an idea of what he wants in a winning program. What he's focused on with recruiting is the overall comfort level with the campus environment and coaching staff.
Louisville has a slight lead over Alabama in Pass' 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions. Whether or not that becomes a reality, Pass said, is still to be determined.
"The main thing I'm looking for is what school I'm going to fit the best at," Pass said. "I don't want to go to a losing school. I want to go someplace where I can win and also where I'll stand out and be the guy."

@AndrewJBone: Five-star DE Marlon Davidson didn't make it to #Alabama yesterday as planned. So only two of the top 3 players in the state are in town.

Then why the hell did you commit in the first place? I don't understand kids these days. It's more of a thing of not being true to your word that annoys me.

I don't get it either. We know from interviews with previous commitments that CNS talks to them at length about what a commitment means before he allows them to commit. Apparently, it's just white noise to some of them though.

Per Taylor Hamm:

Little has maintained his commitment level to A&M as “medium” or “50-percent” for quite a while and he is currently visiting Ole Miss and will be at Alabama today. It is that latter school that is the real one of concern for the Aggies.
Alabama has put in a lot of work with Little and he is definitely intrigued by the Crimson Tide. There is some talk in the college coaching community that they expect the state of Texas’ top player to eventually end up in Tuscaloosa.

I doubt he ends up at Auburn, but this is recruiting so you never know. If not Bama it would probably be Michigan.

Well now i feel like hypocrite complaining about our recruits not respecting their commitments while we're going after prospects committed elsewhere
